i think everyone knows the elephant in the room regarding city success. People praise klopp more because he built the team the hard way by slowly adding the right players at the right price that liverpools finances can afford (specially helped by coutinho sale)over each window and also coaching players to the next level to build his team. where city have this image of money being thrown at it all and using lawyers to bend all the rules to get what they want then add the best coach available who can buy who he wants and success will come quick.
but the reality is that pep also built his team by slowly adding the right players at the right price that city could afford and also coaching players to the next level to build his team.
@@MattMajcan Man City could only afford those players by getting round FFP through inflating sponsorship deals and paying staff through third parties, in turn winning them trophies and getting them champions league money and more revenue
Most of the charges if not almost all of them, are from a period Pep was not the manager. People listing the players City had. Please. They also had Sagna, Clichy, Kolarov, Zabaleta, Demichelis, Bony, Kelechi, Javi Garcia, etc. It was the most aged squad in the league! City win it's easy. City lose it's failure. Liverpool/Arsenal or else win and it's the biggest achievement ever against City. That team has played the last 7 years with that pressure. And all of that with a swagger never seen before. Klopp IS great. Boy, even him knows and said what had to be said about City. People can talk all they want about charges, that would not diminish a bit the sweat that was let in training, in matches and so on. Apart from Haaland, what player did City peeped to the other clubs? Dias? Ake? Akanji? Gundogan? Cancelo? Ederson? Stones? Rodri? Grealish? Bernardo? KDB "the Chelsea reject"? Doku? Mahrez? Is it really all about money?
The main thing to look at when comparing these two is where the club was when they took over. Liverpool were a banter club back in 2015. They were living off past glories in the same way United are now. Klopp transformed that team without a blank cheque book. What Pep has achieved at City is great too but when you look at how much is spent every single transfer window its hardly surprising and they weren't exactly struggling before he took over.
It’s football mate, FSG being tight with their cash isn’t anyone else’s fault. You act like it’s easy to motivate players who’ve just won to go do it again
@@magicmillzFSG are not tight , that’s why Liverpool have won every trophy since 2018. However there’s a limit to how much they have, there isn’t a limit to how much City can spend.

True, they are focusing on the outside stuff, of course it matters, but man city deserves credit for how they have won those titles. Centurions, winning 8-9 games in a row to win the league, winning the league without a striker and winning the treble. I don't know how they can choose klopp over based on the fact that he could compete with pep and man city.
As a united fan the 115 charges has nothing to do with what pep has done with this city team, it does not affect how they play how they dominate or control games, you can have all the money in the world but money does not guarantee trophies
@emekadibia7246 that a silly example and not what i meant at all, united Chelsea spurs all have money but in terms of players they are nowhere close to what pep has accomplished with their players
@@mav_3rix354 Just saying that we cannot underestimate the importance of funds. Pep built a great squad, but money played an important role in getting him the kind of players he needed. Great managers like Klopp and even Wenger have been hamstrung by money. Wenger always mentioned about financial doping. Athletes that dope use it to enhance their qualities - quality already exists. That's my view but you don't have to agree with me.
@emekadibia7246 united spent a billion where are they? Chelsea spent a billion where are they? Besides Grealish( who was over priced) how many of pep signings while at city has been bought for crazy amounts? People see 115 charges and think thats pep, where as that has nothing to do with pep that was all done before he even came into the job, so again I ask you besides Jack Grealish what other player has pep bought for an absurd amount of money? Because as far as I see the players pep brought in he made them world class in that system take those same players out of pep system and they're simply not as good look at Sterling over 100 goals for city but at Chelsea and Liverpool couldnt get close to that, look at KDB in city world class but for his national team and even before pep nobody really took note of him, thats because pep as a coach is world class and what he has accomplished had nothing to do with the 115 charges
Liverpool had to sell the most sought afte rplayer in Coutinho to be able to buy Allison and VVD. Pep has just been given funds left and right to buy players and then replace them the year after. Mangala, Otamendi, Laporte, Dias, Akanji, Ake.. On top of Stones already being there. They didnt need to sell Sane, Mahrez to buy other players, they were left not wanted. Gomez has had silly injuries. The only blemish on Klopp's record is he needed to buy Jota, Dias, Nunez, Gakpo to replace Firmino and Mane. City spent £100m on Grealish and he doesnt play anymore. It says everything. It's like Madrid spending obscene cash on Hazard and he's never playing.
You made good points but your last statement is obscenely stupid because Madrid didn’t just bench Hazard, he couldn’t stay fit or healthy. Wasn’t the club’s fault
@@nmelionochie8133klopp won every domestic trophy quicker than saf. Their teams have hit 90pts and above frequently. Played some of the best attacking football ever seen in the league. Plus £1bill spent by klopp is a lie.
People won't give City the credit even if the 115 charges are not true about them. Manchester City's rivals don't like him, and neither did the Premier League welcome Pep from day one. So let Wright have his salty take about Pep and City; it has never deterred him from succeeding at the highest level
Nobody is saying that Pep inherited the best squad when he came in but he 100% inherited a team that has won the title and did have in effect title winning players within it. In that 5 year window there showing in the graph they had one 4th place, two 2nd place finishes and won the title 2 times. When Jurgen came he inherited a squad which had one very good season finishing second in those 5 years but beyond that we were absolutely mediocre and clearly we had nowhere near the same resources that City have financially. People keep saying Liverpool spent money and yes they have but the big money they spent that changed our squad was when we sold Coutinho and in turn used that money to buy VVD and Allison. Taking nothing away from Pep who has done a fantastic job who is a world class coach but i still regard him as the best cheque book coach i have ever seen and is now officially the manager/coach that has spent the most money in football history. What Klopp has done is remarkable in comparison winning everything at Liverpool while still challenging City in the league for several years.
Fair enough. Pep is winning big time for consistency though which isn't mentioned. Liverpool in 3 of the last 7 seasons were absolutely miles behind and not even second. Not even in the Champions League this year which is a big advantage. The transfer decisions are also a collective thing. Klopp didn't want Salah etc. Anyway such comparisons are pretty pointless really. Enjoy people for what they are!
@@grealish2234 You need to learn math, by your own words that "5x the trophies of klopp" is 7x5=35. I dont see the 35 trophies that Pep has won at Man City😅
@TP-pq9xx So whilst I appreciate what your saying, what Leicester did that season was remarkable and very likely wont happen again in our lifetime. You are citing a unique situation and whilst almost all of us applauded what they did that season Leicester didnt continue that success beyond the title win. Were as Liverpool have won everything there is to win in club football with Klopp.
Both Pep and Klopp are great managers. It’s pure ignorance how people pretend that the team Pep inherited at Barca and then won 6 trophies the same year, that team failed to win anything two seasons prior to before pep took over. The decisions he made were brutal at Barca that’s what made him successful. By the way that Mourinho’s Real Madrid squad was more expensive and valuable than Pep’s Barca.
Mate, Pep has the shadow of cheating hanging over him. It is 115 charges!!!! That is some cheating. If found guilty, his reputation will be in tatters.
Pep is not the club! Pep's tactical genius and work with the players is something we will probably never see again. The work he has done with Stones, his philosophy that runs from academy to first team of both men and women. The style of football that he has introduced from his Cruyff roots that almost every big club, even small grassroots teams look to replicate; this is Pep. How hard he pushes the players and how hard the players work to achieve what they have achieved, Wrighty is absolutely right! They deserve to be honoured because when it comes down to it they are on their pitch playing their hearts out and not the owners and whoever is involved in the alleged charges. I want these charges to be done with by this season and next season the team starts with a negative if point deduction is what happens or relegation. A fresh start because this is frustrating at this point. Pep deserves respect.
115 charges or not are we really going to pretend that a pep team will not play spectacular possession base football? We are talking about a guy who won 14 titles with Barcelona while only allowing Real Madrid 2 titles.
When you think about the resources at their disposure as well, money and players, at both Liverpool/Man City and Dortmund/Bayern Munich, it makes you think. Is Klopp a better manager than Pep? I would say so.
AT some point fans need to stop being indenial. Excuses dont get you anywhere or bring you anything. Talking about 1000000 charges wont change what a great manager Pep is or his achievements. The fact that people constantly need to make themselves feel better about why City is better than their club by always talking about them just makes them very pety. If City is guilty than they should be punished but that wont change Pep being the greatest.
Pep had 2 surplus players sat on the bench ( Gvardiol, (Matheus ) cost a combined £130m, more than Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Endo. ( play whenever fit ) cost combined.. Imagine if Klopp could have had every player he ever wanted?( like Pep gets 99% of the time ) Klopp is a miracle worker compared to Pep.
Tbh you have a good point but if you think back Pep also wanted Van Dijk and they couldn’t get him so went for Laporte. If he’s gotten his target Liverpool would’ve never become a top club because their defense was a shambles
This is a very stupid conversation because the question is who is the best coach not who has spent more money. Do you say Messi is not the best player because he played with Xavi and Iniesta Why didn't they give vardy the best player award because he didn't have all those top players but still managed to win the league once. The thing you should look at is Pep and Klopp who have changed how football is played and who have revolutionised football since coming to England. If Klopp leaves football today though he would be missed and appreciated for his contributions but there will be another Klopp type of coach in no time or there is already. But if Pep leaves football today just think about the impact that would have on football and is there any coach out there who's as innovative as Pep
@steve-kl9iv Man United has spent more than Man City, Chelsea too so I don't get your point? The point is this one coach has changed how football is played all around the world, even in lower-division leagues and that has nothing to do with the amount spent. Jose outspent everybody during his first Chelsea period and yes they won trophies but did he change football? You can see Pep's imprint on 65% of managers in the league so tell me that's all because of the money spent
Hahaha. The whole success of Liverpool and klopp amounts back to the discussion that he could compete with pep and city. Their whole success is built on chasing man city, and they still say they are better than him. So biased
If the two managers were swapped over but everything else about the two clubs were kept the same Klopp would be so clear of Pep it wouldn't be close. Pep walked into a City team that was already winning, then he was backed to the hilt with funds. Klopp had to put the pieces back together at Liverpool and build the club up to what it became and is today. Players had to be sold first before signings made and it was not uncommon for the owners to refuse player purchases claiming lack of funds. Klopp has done the job he has at Liverpool while being hampered by those above him. Pep could never have done what Klopp has. Pep wouldn't have even lasted this long at Liverpool
Does this mean Arsene Wenger was better than Ferguson in his first 10 years? He spent less, entered an inferior team and won plenty in his first 10 years.
The way I see it. Take a Team fighting relegation ( Burnley, Sheff Utd for example ) No extra resources, just the bare bone players they both got. And I’d confidently pick Klopp to do the better Job.
Yes you can because Guardiola has tactically revolutionised the sport twice at two different clubs. He forced elite managers into copying him so they can keep up.
Agree. Its a shame for Guardiola he woudve done something close to that anyway. Maybe not that much with that many points. I feel sad for him and the players even more. But if this team had been assembled illegaly according to ffp, it means man City board was cheating...simple as that. As Juve did. They are the cheators, not Guardiola
Making a system which requires the best players, don't forget he bought 3 different rbs 50m each until someone fits his system, not every team has that luxury.
Yes don’t be silly. Every manager is given money to spend and do their best. Man City haven’t spent £10b and every other club £5m, the only advantage here is City were at a disadvantage FFP-wise. The rules are flawed to protect the ‘big 6’. There should be a limit of what EVERY team can spend, then it’s an even playing field. Every top side has spent hundreds of millions, some better than others. If Pep was at Chelsea he’d have done the exact same thing, the man is a genius.
Jamie Carragher just tells us you're a low-key man city fan! Because u always favor city to win why if after the game we all saw that Liverpool also stands a big chance🏆
I totally disagree.. klopp has been fantastic but Chelsea have shown us recently that spending money alone doesn't guarantee u success.. YOU can't just overlook them Manchester city finishing 100pts, and 98pts consecutive has never happened in this league. FOR ME IT'S GUARDIOLA 100%... Mancity have achieved what arsenal, tottenham, Chelsea couldn't in their history in 6 seasons.. that's winning the treble, 3peats premier league etc
But Liverpool finished 1 point behind Man City with inferior squads compared to city team and squad depth? James Milner left city in 2015 and won 1 UCL and 1 PL at Liverpool. Garbage mediocre player with no talent at all so how is that possible?
Till they’re proven guilty this is all speculation. Net spend is 150 million more but Carragher would have you believe Klopp has been claiming from the benefits centre
Non league. The rest of the pyramid is NOT a punishment and shouldn't be treated that way. Don't disrespect the pyramid. They don't need to inherit City
People definitely expected to see a MUCH bigger difference in net spend though let’s be honest 😂 Liverpool fans cant really use that anymore for the Klopp vs Pep debate regardless of if they are charged
I’m a lifelong Liverpool supporter. My tuppence worth comes down on the side of Pep . Pep is the difference really for me in City . Utd and Chelsea are proof of money doesn’t mean success. Yes City’s Money allows them to be the best because of Pep . Klopps achievements in football are outstanding. The way he instilled belief every Club he’s been to and made them all better 👌🇮🇪
Ian is spot on with everything he said. As a united fan, i find klopp the better manager. Pep is insanely good but he is used to managing big clubs barca/bayern. Yes borussia is a big club, but klopp started at mainz, and built it up from there. Pep did get a lot of staff from barca so he is a full package deal. People will disagree but klopp is my choice of the two. I think klopp would also have a better relationship with his players which is also important.
So we're in agreement that City should just share whatever the PL wants them to share, correct? I mean if they did nothing wrong, surely there's no reason to delay it this long?
Sir Guardiola is the master of football which ever team he coaches people remembers it for years look at peps barca everyone who played street football growing up wanted to imitate the team
Exactly so who is better? Not so easy to compare when both managers are competing in different economical stratosphere right? Gvardiol Matheus Nunes and Savinho cost more than Szoboszlai Mac Allister Gravenberch and Endo combined?
Aren't the charges from before pep arrived? End of pep>klopp even if city have spent 160 mill more, Liverpool should of won more trophies, if anyone's to blame it their owners
Guardiola is a tactical genius, yes. But given the ethical charges against both Barca and City, he is also a questionable figure to put it mildly, and should be remembered as such. Both are true.

Can you talk about Wengers and Furgusons success without mentioning the G14 group of clubs and their threats to create a European super league ( yes you under 35's three years ago was not the first time) which led to the creation of the Champions League which in turn gave Arsenal and United a massive financial boost.
In the last 50 years, only Alex Ferguson’s Man Utd and Bob Paisley’s Liverpool can compare to the consistency Pep’s Man City have shown. All three were able to keep winning whilst slowly evolving the squad and their successes are phenomenal. Klopp’s Liverpool are comparable to Clough’s Forest in the late 70s - they’ve periodically been able to match (and even occasionally better) the dominant team of their era. I do think 2018/19 was the peak of the rivalry, when both squads were at their absolute best and they set the highest standard we’ve ever seen in a title race. In all the other seasons, one side has led quite comfortably while the other gave chase. City survived a late slump to beat Liverpool to the finish line in 21/22 but it wasn’t quite at the same level as 3 years previously. I also think City will do well to finish any higher than third this year: Liverpool and Arsenal are so hungry for the title and City have just dropped off slightly without Gundogan and Mahrez, two of their extremely dependable match-winners in many previous seasons. Arsenal will probably win the title: when you have the best goal difference, the meanest defence and are the highest scorers, it tends to follow. City will have to be at their very best to beat them, even at the Etihad. Finally, God bless Ian Wright! In addition to having been a brilliant player and a great, no-nonsense pundit, everyone loves him because of how open-hearted he is - it takes a lot of courage to be that way, given how nasty people can be in the world of football (and the world in general). Nice balance from Jamie too - I’ve only noticed recently that he gets a hammering whenever he isn’t a full-on Liverpool partisan.

Spot on and 115 cheating charges is an incredible amount of cheating. Well done to Wrighty for mentioning this!
Only you praise Klopp more.
but the reality is that pep also built his team by slowly adding the right players at the right price that city could afford and also coaching players to the next level to build his team.
@@MattMajcan Man City could only afford those players by getting round FFP through inflating sponsorship deals and paying staff through third parties, in turn winning them trophies and getting them champions league money and more revenue
@@robertdenton3617 Yes this is the actual reality of it and what those charges are based on but will most likely get away with it.
Funny bringing up 115 charges but Ian spot on and was honest respectful about it
What’s funny that they got away with it
Most of the charges if not almost all of them, are from a period Pep was not the manager.
When Pep arrives late for interview

At last someone aren't holding back of Facts like rest of us has been saying since these chargers are in public domain.
Not a city fan but the charges doesn’t take away from the dominance of the city players and peps genius. Come on, this is just ridiculous.
Pep's style of play with the current Luton squad won't guarantee trophies. So, maybe money also plays a part in success.
Is Grealish injured?

It is disgusting that they put up wrong numbers. On purpose?

115 charges can never elude pep’s legacy in city….it’s still gonna tarnish his city legacy

Chuck Norris which he was Pep

This is a very stupid conversation because the question is who is the best coach not who has spent more money. Do you say Messi is not the best player because he played with Xavi and Iniesta
Why didn't they give vardy the best player award because he didn't have all those top players but still managed to win the league once.
So now competing against the no.1 team in prem makes you better than the manager of no.1 team 😂
Jamie stopp please
You simply can’t talk about it without mentioning it. How klopp has kept up is actually insane
The way I see it.
Take a Team fighting relegation ( Burnley, Sheff Utd for example )
No extra resources, just the bare bone players they both got.
And I’d confidently pick Klopp to do the better Job.

Yes you can because Guardiola has tactically revolutionised the sport twice at two different clubs. He forced elite managers into copying him so they can keep up.
Here here
How much did he spend before City won the UCL?
I'd like to see how he'd do without such deep pocket support coming in everywhere he goes

Jamie knows
