You could definitely put this up against any Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hyatt Place, or any other brand of the same tier. Choice has some great brands and potential, it just sucks that they're so inconsistent.
@@22408aaron I agree completely. Choice is the best value in the industry IMO, but there’s too many iffy properties in the system. Their higher-tier brands like Comfort and Raddison need to be tightened up if they want to break into the market and compete with IHG and Hilton. I’ve had to skip over a few Comfort Inn properties in the last year due to bad reviews, and that really shouldn’t happen once you get into the upper-mid scale segment. There’s a Comfort Suites by the Atlanta airport with particularly scary reviews.
True story: back in the year 2000 me and some fellow acers visited the now defunct six flags Ohio. At the end of the night we stayed at a super 8 in streetsboro Ohio. It had been a miserably cold and rainy day in early May, so I took an extraordinarily hot shower. The bathroom was full of steam. I opened the door and 30 seconds later the fire alarm went off. Front desk came run beating on our door, fire trucks showed up, firemen had to come into our room and inspect it. I was mortified that I had to admit I had simply taken too hot of a shower. And all of this happened at 1:00 in the morning. We still laugh about it on trips to this day.
This is a very interesting hotel! Looking at the facade on the short ends of the building tells a story of a brand swap that occurred even before the building was completely finished. The hotel was originally slated to open as a brand new Super 8 Motel, in late 2013. By the time construction was nearly complete, the owners decided to brand it as a Comfort Inn instead, presumably getting a better franchise agreement.
Shower steam should not set off a photoelectric smoke detector, so if a hotel is actually having that problem, they need better quality smoke detectors.
@ funnily enough, a dorm I lived in did the same thing. But that was because right in front of the bathroom was a super sensitive first alert ionization smoke alarm. Those things hate shower steam.
When I went to holiday world, I stayed at the holiday inn near Jasper, Indiana. It is a bit further away from holiday world but the hotel was fine. There was also a sign to shut the bathroom door for the same reason 🤣. It also had an innovation elevator just like this hotel. Good vid.
Seems like a nice place. The time zone quirk is a fascinating one, and yeah, the TV size does seem on the smaller size but if that’s the (pun intended) biggest issue, you’re doing alright.
Nice video. I’d hate to have a room near that noisy elevator door. Please when you check bathrooms make note of safety bars in tub/shower area. They are very important to folks with disabilities. Otherwise there could be a fall risk.
The Comfort Inn I stayed at in Dallas had the refillable shampoo and conditioner containers in the shower. Wonder why that particular property doesn't have that
@@donaldpaluga Those things are the best. Makes my life a lot easier since I typically travel out of a carry on and just have the tiny travel size container of body wash.
Ugh…hotels are just so gross to me. All the people’s heads laying on those pillows the drooling and greasy hair and germs soaked into that pillow…the surfaces in the room that people touched with germy hands. I’m always amused when people get so excited about staying in hotels, yuk.
Seems like a very nice place, great video Jacob!😸

I’ve always wanted to go to holiday world

@@mattdude Yeah, I’m surprised they went the route of putting door closers in all the bathrooms to mitigate it.

@@TheElevatorChannelI’ve seen you don’t respond to comments so much. How come, just for curiosity. It’s ok if you don’t.
The elevator door sound is awesome.
Great to see another video!
Really looks well cleaned

@@aviation_cvg That’s pretty funny. I wonder if it’s the same operator.

elevator door sounds futuristic. central time should start at Erie PA.
enjoyed the video, thanks!

Awesime
Toilet seat left up.. Fail!
What a strange and off-putting whirring sound of the elevator door
Aw yes, an Abell elevator inside that hotel, that door operator sounds a little loud.
that note about holiday world is helpful.
But that door operator is annoying. Reminds me of the Hilton Garden Inn in Naperville IL
