@bigblackmamb Try a local Army Navy surplus store. The stores in my area sell it by the foot so you can by smaller amounts. At the very least you can save on shipping.

it all depends what size bead you want in the end. If the beads are just for decorative purposes or something 550 will work just as well, itll just be a little different in size than the 450. ive made these beads with different thicknesses of regular rope as well. You may or may not need needle nose pliers to help tighten the bead when it's done, but otherwise you can make a bead with any type of rope/paracord. the thickness of the stuff used will affect how large the bead is tho.

I believe this knot is also called a 2 strand stopper knot.

@TyingItAllTogether You really don't have fat thumbs and by tying slow you make it possible for begginers like me to tie complex knots :)

Tried this last night. It looked good, but 6 feet of 550 paracord is not nearly enough for a necklace. I'll try again with 10 foot cords.
