  • This time on BARMY, we meet the Machine Gun Professor - Rich Fisher. Rich has a shed that any person in the UK would be jealous of. It is filled with Vickers Machine guns which made a huge impact during the First World War. In this episode, he takes Joe through the collection and how the Vickers works..

To know that this machine gun was one of the standard guns used on British aircraft is absolutely amazing!
I love that this channel keeps history alive☺

In the first world war. In the second the .303 caliber guns on Commonwealth aircraft were generally brownings. The .50 calibers bigger brownings and the 20mm cannons Hispano-Suiza HS 404's.

Great stuff. Loved the Aussie connection, and Rich's enthusiasm is awesome. My Pa (born in Coventry) ran a Lewis gun crew in the Pacific. ✌🇦🇺

You can tell when they're Australian Lithgow built guns as we dispatched with the fluted barrel jackets and went with the straight sided ones for simplicity.
