HT550, Scotland's ultimate MTB adventure? | PART ONE

- Join me and fellow Enduro racer turned bike packing legend Joe Nation as the HT550 takes us through 550miles of Scottish wilderness. With surprises around every corner join us as we discover some of the most beautiful and remote parts of Scotland.
This was my first ever bike packing mission, and what a start! We stayed in hotels or b&b's each night which meant warm showers, and time to dry out, warm up and get some proper food in us. With the rest of the race season ahead of me it was important for me to recover well. Joe was fresh off a 3rd place at the world renowned hardest off road bike packing race the Tour Divide - he smashed it to third place. So thankfully he wasn't able for his race pace and we could go at my 'chill' pace. Haha!
Part two out now! - กีฬา
Hell of a one to pick as your first bike packing trip. Looked amazing. You earned all those munchies.

Absolutely 😁

Glorious stuff, and frankly exhausting to watch 😅
Willing to put a crisp fiver on this being 2nd last week in July? I've only just thawed out from an ill-advised hike in the Cairngorms from that weekend.
I’m back at last 😁
Woah, absolutely nailed it, it was the 2nd last week of July!!! Oh man, yeah that was a cold wet on that Sunday!!! 😵💫

Awesome!!
Rob and Jackie are a fantastic couple. The woodland B&B is a beautiful spot.
Yeah absolute legends hey!! 😍
@@KatyWinton oh for sure.
Great video! Recentl cycled Edinburgh to fort William and that was fairly hard! This looks crazy!😅
Great effort! That’s a solid mission!!
Sleeping in hotels, washing clothes after a single ride... I think I am on the other side of bikepacking. Sleep outside, wash clothes after the journey is over... :D
Yeah I was defo on a luxurious side of bike packing 😂
ill look forward to the rest of these! did Joe document tour divide?I read book about it years ago and met a couple of people 24 hour racing who'd done it. not for me but sounds amazing. id love to read about his experience if he wrote anything. and of course, what pie he had in pie town? Hi from Christchurch :)
He absolutely did, he’s made two videos on his race! Defo check out his channel, this is the video: th-cam.com/video/azJS106xeNA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-X9F_jJ-PGRi9OzB
He’s done videos on events in NZ too 😁
@@KatyWinton thanks katy!

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧🏴
Great video; the best HT550 I have seen. Thank you. What did you use to record the video? Thanks....
So stoked to hear you enjoyed it 😁 part two is a whole other level of scenery! I used a mix of my iPhone and GoPro 11 :)
@@KatyWinton Thank you
“Tour De Vibe?”
6:45 😂
🤣🤣🤣 BOG
That's tour mode? Amazing video but you guys are off the scale. You need to explain that most people will have a good chance of dying on the first day or second day if they try this itinerary. Seriously. People on the 'Badger' often arrive in Rannoch 2 or 3 hours later than planned, and that's only from Killin. And you started in Tyndrum, and then kept going, not just to Laggan but over to Fort Augustus? And that was just the first day? Seriously, ambulances and paramedics are few and far between in the highlands, and the air ambulance helicopter and MRTs are busy enough without having to deal with collapsed bike-packers who are not as fit as they thought.
