    This car is magical, it manages to feel like you're driving over huge bumps at 150 km/h when you're driving 50 km/h on a perfectly smooth road.

      😊 But in reality the road holding is excellent. This summer, every weekend I traveled the Autostrada della Cisa round trip (in the small town of Liguria the 600 was the only guarantee of a parking space): the other cars were all amazed to see the little red one pass away in the curves

    GREAT car, small outside, big inside, in the city you use it like a Vespa, you always find a parking space, it has a good restart, it consumes nothing, in 18 years I have never changed anything except oil, brakes, battery, exhaust!
    We use it in many for site inspections.
    I wanted to change it for a new car but I couldn't find the right replacement, until I found another 600 last series, euro 4, with not even 2000 km (like New!). And this is my new service car, despite the complex and heavy hybrid cars that the market now likes.
    Of course I gave the old one as a present to a young man in the studio who will tire of using it.

Its basic transport and as that the car does very well - simple answer could be don't crash and you will never know about its perceived safety shortcomings

    Try this little car on the highway. You will be surprised. Seicento with 0.9 engine (40 HP) can ride with "outstanding" speed of 160 km\h ;) This is an unforgettable experience ;)

    • @5Dale65
      @5Dale65 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a Seicento with the 0.9 engine. I took it on the highway a number of times and I found that you can drive it at speeds like 90-110km/h with no problem. It gets a little noisy inside, but it's more from the tyres than from the engine itself.

    • @break1146
      @break1146 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Does it even go that fast? I have one for about two weeks now and it's from 98. Merging on some ramps on highways is a bit of a challenge, imagine a corner (max 60km, more and any car will go straight through) and then being thrown directly on the highway, where the speed is 130km/h. Merging with 80km/h is kinda dangerous, but it doesn't go any faster hahahahaha.
      I've noticed that I'm generally merging with 110km/h and I've then just shifted into 4th gear getting up to a cruising speed of 130km/h before shifting into 5th.
      I had a hard time getting it up to 140km/h, but maybe shifting back with some patience, I should try hehehe. That's got to be amazing.
      I love people's reactions when I start to overtake on a local road (80km/h), with shifting back into 3rd and with a screaming engine hoping to pass on time... I really love this car and I have electric windows, so luxurious hehe.
      My dad calls it the coffee grinder, because that's what this three cylinder engine sounds like hehe.

    My girlfriend just said she (well, her parents) is going to give me her 99' seicento suite as it has been parked with no use since 2023 summer... Any idea on how to rotate manually the engine?? It probably starts with a new battery, but I want to add oil into the engine (directly into the pistons) and rotate it manually before starting the car, so it gets little lubrication before turning it on...
    EDIT: She gave it to me, and it had cooling system problems. After installing a new radiator (old radiator had leaks and was smashed...) and a new thermostat (old didnt open completely), its finally fixed. Now its time for new rear lights, oil and filters, distribution and service belts and then, MOT (ITV) so I can drive it legally🎉🎉

    LOL, this is probably one of the most unsafe cars you can drive. Terrible Euroncap results which is a shame because it seems like a fun little car.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Protector of the Republic Yes you're right. It is absolutely unsafe and yes, it is so much so much fun to drive. This car is reduced to the minimum (for example, it doesn't have power steering. It was available as an option but this car didn't have it) and because of this, it is so intense to drive because you hear and feel everything what's happening on the road or with the car.

    • @weedmastersr
      @weedmastersr 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for the details. Sounds lovely. My first car was a Daewoo Matiz without power steering. It gave me a similar sensation to the one you describe. You can really feel everything in these little cars. Unsafe but fun. :)

      I drove a 2007 Seicento 1.1 van yesterday. It's the worst car that I have ever driven. It has nothing on it: no power steering, no central locking, no electric windows, no airbags, no radio, no tachometer and worst of all, no temperature gauge (the cooling fan turned on several times while I drove the car). I couldn't start the engine at first because the battery was dead, so I had to use jumper cables to start it. The interior door handle from the driver's door was missing so I had to roll the window down and open the door with the outside handle when I wanted to get out of the car. The pedals are so high up from the floor, and they are also terribly stiff, it's painful to operate them. The whole car shakes when you press the throttle while staying in place. Putting the gear stick in reverse is also pain in the ass. Brakes are terrible, you have to press the pedal to the maximum even if you want to slow down just a little, it takes ages until the car stops from 60 to 0 km/h. The car has been converted to run on LPG, and the engine is absolutely gutless, it has no torque whatsoever, it takes ages to accelerate from 20-40 km/h in second gear and the engine screams like mad, and it smelled on LPG inside the car (I had a Fiat Punto Mk1 with the same engine, it was almost as bad as the Seicento but it wasn't converted to LPG so it had slightly better acceleration and at least it had central locking and front electric windows). Utterly horrendous car, the only positive thing about it is that it's not mine.

    • @asmpx
      @asmpx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +The Tranceporter
      I'm sorry to hear your suffered with Seicento, but clearly you've driven the bottom line variant with an appalling LPG kit applied. The car gets 0-100 km/h under 15 seconds, so your ages between just 20-40 must have been caused by that. Also the brakes, of course they're not the best, but the car stops at least appropriately, again must be due to its condition.
      +Überholspur
      And about the equipment. I'm staggered how it changed since 98' when the car was launched. There were 3 main trim levels back then: with none, 1 or 2 airbags and more ore less other stuff consequently. I've driven the mid trim, it had central locking (without remote), electric windows, steering wheel locking, immobilizer and some really basic stuff which I can't see on the vid like mirrors + bumpers painted (in body color) or a little knob that switches internal air circulation to prevent inhaling fumes when kicking off from the lights after a bus. And look the younger bottom trim model presented here has both airbags! _[EDIT: i see now, it was 2 airbags as standard in Germany]_ I mean after a few years the market has changed and safety demand as well. And Fiat started to compete with other brands to sell the cheapest minicar so they stripped all the other stuff from standard equipment.
      And lastly, well, you won't trick me into that's a 1998 model. Look, it says "green 4" on the window while it was designed as Euro 2 back then, after facelift of 2001 it was Euro 3, and possibly Euro 4 after another update. And fiat's check engine blinking at the beginning, it was was looking like this in the old days among different models: obrazki.elektroda.net/29_1287128539.jpg (looks strange right?) And last but not least my eye spies 4-speed ventilation instead of 5. So... you can say 98', but I would say it's not.
