Everytime I see 200x figures in the historical line up, they tend to be my favorite designs... I know they had minimal articulation, but those designs and sculpts were on point!
They should have did the Mer-man like this with his original look and the alternate head with the one eye and whatever accessories. But yeah tri and trap looks cool!
Both biceps look like they were sculpted to accommodate some of the lower/forearm articulation, while also being able to be reused for other figures? Whichever, something got lost in translation. I never was a big TJ fan, but just adding the maroon tunic (pre-rubber sash) made him pop for me. I haven’t seen this guy in person, just one Tri-Klops, but I’d sure give him a second look just for that modified look. Had MC done that with MOTUC for undercover Adam and …the old man/lore keeper? I would have bought them. I never cared for the rubber tunics they did get.
Not sure if this would be something you would consider but I would love to see a video where you list what you would love to see in the master verse line. Maybe a top 10 of characters you'd like to see appear in 2023

They should have made little $12 barbie clothes kits for people that want that stuff.. Fortunately it looks like we have a new base body and with it likely a 40th anniversary series. So everything released so far will be obsolete.
I wasn't really bent on getting Tri-Klops, but after getting Trap Jaw, I guess I need the cult leader too ha ha. Yeah, the mouth is the only thing I don't like about the figure. Other than that, I don't regret getting it. The spoiler doesn't matter. If fans wanted to see Revelations, they would have seen it by now.
It has gotten hard to watch alot of the masterverse reviews from Dan. I am a huge fan of you, and have been for years, and will continue to be. I love most of the videos, but these have all become a basic complaint of "They aren't just remaking classics again." Like we all love the vintage line, and we all get that classics was what helped build the channel. But I am so glad they aren't just doing another remake, and I am so glad they didn't redo the 2000x figures.
I think that the Motherboard cult made sense for these characters: they're born minions, they don't have enough personality to lead or to be someone on their own, they need and look for someone or something to lead them, to tell them who they are and what to do. It felt fresh and unpredictable while showing some mature character development.

Me, what looks really bad with the Masterverse so far is their posture problem. Their necks are 45 degrees?!?!!??!?? What the hell!!! It should be perfectly inline with the spine. Terrible posture and it’s driving me nuts!!! Hahaha
His jaw actually makes sense to me. Considering there is no bone in his jaw, his mouth would just sag open. Other trap job figures just have an empty void there.
I really dislike the head under the iron jaw. It's too bad because I was looking forward to have both Trap Jaw and Triklops in the Cult attire. The Cult thing was actually my fave part of the series.
Yeah that face sculpt is unfortunate. I’ll be displaying jaw shut too. The interchangeable outfit is great. I wish Teela and Beast Man were given an option to look “normal”. Neat to see all the different versions there.
Dear Dan everything it’s ok but what about distribution MOTU ORIGINS and MASTERVERSE?? There is a hole, big hole in this new MOTU Era and nobody takes the problem and solution in hands. I really hope Mattel solves this issue before many fans quit. 😉✌🏻
I can't imagine the sinking feeling I'd have gotten working at Mattel for MOTU: Revelation or at Hasbro for Disney Star Wars: knowing I had to keep putting product out to market, based on uninspired, grim, postmodern deconstructions of things people love.

That tongue face was what made me pass on this. Its a shame because its a pretty cool figure overall. That 2000x and the motu classics blow this out the water though.

Overall its good, but I wish it had the 200x style weapons arm. The weapons arm just looks so "plain" on this more detailed version.
Agreed! I customized mine, "fixed" his mouth and gave him a more 200X style arm and colors. Made a video showing it!

I can not wait till Masterverse moves beyond Revelations.
Shame we have to pay extra for stuff we don't want. I couldn't care less about the robes from Revelation. Same with Tri-klops.

I can't tell why but I think he looks better with the Cult clothes on. Just switch the Cult belt with the skull one and it's perfect in my opinion.

As far as the tech cult uniform. I use those uniforms on wrestling figures and I keep my trap jaw and tri clops as standard figures.

Revelation's designs are mostly conventional for MOTU. With toys that's all that matters.
