There’s an alternate little scene that can play for speed runners. If you DONT have the master sword before ganondorf fight, Link will pull it from Zelda dragon’s head and then cut right to him posing with it against Dragondorf. A nice little attention to detail, and keeping some lore consistency that the master sword is the only thing to truly kill the demon king.
It happened to me on accident and it was so awesome- I was dumb struck. I think It gave the sword more significance and he even had a small flourish with it. I kinda wish everyone experienced that in their first play through.

If you look really close he Shielded her from the impact with the water with his body because he could take the impact and the pain so he did for zelda. I think this is proof of zelink like shore it his job to save her but she could have lived if he could so yeah

Mechanically, this was by far the best Ganondorf fight, they outdid themselves here, and really learned from BoTW. They do that thing I really like with final bosses where they screw with things you know: 1. While he can hit you with gloom, it can also make hearts actually disappear like at the start of the game 2. He can dodge your attacks and go into bullet time, which normally you’re the one doing that 3. That long ass health bar All 3 of those things caught me off guard and made for a really good fight. And I also loved the spectacle of the dragon phase. Yes it’s easy, but it ends the game off with an awesome set piece. And it’s a lot more fun than dark beast Ganon from BoTW.

This final boss was so fun, major step up from BotW. I like that the final phase was a cinematic one like dark beast ganon, but in TotK it’s just done so much better. Also Ganondorf using moves like flurry rushes and extending the health bar caught me so off guard in a good way, 10/10 game and an 10/10 ending
For me the dragon should’ve looked more like a boar to make it look more like calamity Ganon in his malice form, so that it would keep consistent with ganon looking like a pig demon.

Just realised, when Ganondorf killed Sonia and corrupted her Secret Stone and uses it to become the Demon King, despite him corrupting it, there is a sliver of light inside of it. It is possible that Ganondorf imprisoned Sonia’s spirit inside the Secret Stone so that she can be used as an additional power source. Which meant Sonia was imprisoned for eons just like Rauru and Zelda. And thrn when Link defeated the Demon Dragon and destroyed the sacred stone, that is why Sonia was able to appear to help Zelda to transform back into her Hylian form.

Flurry rush isn't that hard to master, just with a little practice you'll be perfect. Just play against Lynels all the time, before you know it you'll be good.

Maaaaan, this was so much better to watch than the other vid. The other guy insisted on using nothing but a bow even though it was barely doing any damage. It took 90 arrows for Gannondorf to go down! Seeing someone fight him with a sword is way more fun.

So she chooses to reincarnate as mortal and with the Hero from the sky managed to kill him once and for all. With his dying breath the Demon King ennacted a powerfull curse and swore revenge on his arch enemies. He will return until the world is his and he got his revenge on the hero and Hylia. And as long as they defeat him, the cycle continues as as he swore, he will return. Thats why throughout the History of Hyrule there are different versions of Link, Zelda and Ganondorf. They are the same persons in different bodies destined to fight each other due to the curse.

I, like everyone else in the comments, just can't get over how awesome this fight is. The absurd health bar gives actual stress and intimidation to the player directly and the threat of "I'll be taking far more than your arm this time" just makes this whole boss fight one of the absolute best in the industry.
I was screwing around under the castle and stumbled upon the "army of the demon king" fight, wasnt sure if it was the final boss or not. Fought for HOURS trying to win, then i walked into Ganondorfs room like oh fuck this IS the final boss

That, and during the final cutscene, you can hear a sound similar to that of Fi when she would enter and exit the Master Sword, as it glows and moves. I think this was a nod to remind us she's still there, as is Demise.

I honestly found the end on accident tracking a chest underprepared. I reloaded a save and got some things, deity armor, attached a 55 damage addon lynel part to the man and shreked the big bad..but he still got me to 1 heart before his end :)

I love that the sages help in this game. Using the powers isn't perfect, but it's better than carrying them or them teleporting to the boss door then waiting for you to fight it. Even better they can get some of the enemies off of you and help fight them.
She also sleeps very differently might I add... She slept for 10k in a crystal (skyward sword) 2 of them slept and needed the hero or triforce to wake up (loz 2) Slept inside a painting (link yo the past/world) Slept and dressed by ganon (wind waker) She slept really hard like a stone (minish cap) Slept in a tower full of darkness (twilight) Slept and cosplayed for 7 years (Oot) Slept while her soul is away from her body (phantom hourglass and spirit tracks) Slept and wake up to a wedding (oracle games) Slept with full bright on (BoW) And now again she slept for 10k years while being a dragon.
Finally, a great ganondorf fight. I liked his previous fights before but this one actually felt solid and difficult enough and less.. anti-climatic, aside from maybe demise, but he was just too easy. I do wish Ganondorf had more ending dialogue though but it was still great regardless.
Beautiful game, flawless music and a great ending. I really hope they keep with this format moving forward and build upon the action/survival elements. For me the best two zelda games ever created are botw and totk. I never thought The Wind Waker would be bested but it really has been and that was, until now, my absalute favourite Zelda title.
Doing this boss with no armor, and no op weapons, was soo fun, it was a challenge, but challenging ganondorf for a real 1v1 was cool af. Took me around 2 hours to beat him, seeing that cutscene where he calls back the phantoms and tells you to come at him was awesome.

I beat Ganon today, with a bit of prior difficulty due to my lack of gloom heart restoration Then I realised I forgot to take pictures for the compendium
You know what would have been a better execution for the Demon Dragon fight? This: Right after swallowing the stone and transforming, Ganon ignores Link and flies into outer space to coat the entire planet in gloom using his breath. as Link helplessly watches the gloom fall from the sky, the sages come to and give their secret stones to Link, which then transform him not into a dragon, but into a godlike, winged being bathed in divine light and resembling Fierce Deity Link from Majora's Mask. Link then flies into space to confront Ganon, and a fight kind of similar to the one with Jubileus The Creator from Bayonetta ensues.
personal opinion but i would have loved if after the dragon you fight him for a final phase where he has none of his powers and its just a duel to the death between two warriors

I feel like the dragon fight would've been 100x better if they didn't go for a bunch of upbeat music. Really takes away from the apocalyptic atmosphere, IMO they should've remixed OOT's final ganon theme

I think they will do the long awaited Ocarina Of Time remake for the next console... Like a full remake, like FFVII did... It's probably already in develpment stage. It will sell a ton and then MM remake 2 or 3 years after.... And after those 2 games, I think Nintendo will make the next new entry Zelda game... probably 10 years from now....

If this is the end of Ganon as a big bad, it wouldn't really be hard to imagine Zelda games after this point. They've already made games with different (and arguably better) final bosses like Majora's Mask. I will say though, if this is the end of _these_ types of Zelda games then I am completely okay with it.
All depends on how he was resurrected, of which I am unaware, but he had given up on reincarnation in Breath of the Wild and ended Demise's cycle, so unless someone resurrects him again, he's dead for good this time. If there is a third BotW style game it could have a new villain. Maybe Vaati, in this timeline he will still be sealed inside the Four Sword. Or maybe someone entirely new.

Link the reincarnation of the Hero from the sky.
And Ganondorf the reincarnation of the demon king Demise.
The demon king got defeated and sealed away by Hylia. But she get heavily injured and wouldn't be able to stop demise. So she chooses to reincarnate as mortal and with the Hero from the sky managed to kill him once and for all.
With his dying breath the Demon King ennacted a powerfull curse and swore revenge on his arch enemies. He will return until the world is his and he got his revenge on the hero and Hylia. And as long as they defeat him, the cycle continues as as he swore, he will return.
Thats why throughout the History of Hyrule there are different versions of Link, Zelda and Ganondorf. They are the same persons in different bodies destined to fight each other due to the curse.

I, like everyone else in the comments, just can't get over how awesome this fight is. The absurd health bar gives actual stress and intimidation to the player directly and the threat of "I'll be taking far more than your arm this time" just makes this whole boss fight one of the absolute best in the industry.
You clearly see that Ganondorf is manipulated by Demise as he said he will.not be defeated by a mere mortal
I was screwing around under the castle and stumbled upon the "army of the demon king" fight, wasnt sure if it was the final boss or not. Fought for HOURS trying to win, then i walked into Ganondorfs room like oh fuck this IS the final boss

He's as close to being Demon Demise as he can be without knowing he's the reincarnation of King Demise, yep yep.
That, and during the final cutscene, you can hear a sound similar to that of Fi when she would enter and exit the Master Sword, as it glows and moves. I think this was a nod to remind us she's still there, as is Demise.

I honestly found the end on accident tracking a chest underprepared. I reloaded a save and got some things, deity armor, attached a 55 damage addon lynel part to the man and shreked the big bad..but he still got me to 1 heart before his end :)

I love that the sages help in this game. Using the powers isn't perfect, but it's better than carrying them or them teleporting to the boss door then waiting for you to fight it. Even better they can get some of the enemies off of you and help fight them.

Zelda really needs to stop waking up after a century or more in weird dresses that are out of touch of the time she wakes up in.

Slept inside a painting (link yo the past/world)
Slept and dressed by ganon (wind waker)
She slept really hard like a stone (minish cap)
Slept in a tower full of darkness (twilight)
Slept and cosplayed for 7 years (Oot)
Slept while her soul is away from her body (phantom hourglass and spirit tracks)
Slept and wake up to a wedding (oracle games)
Slept with full bright on (BoW)
And now again she slept for 10k years while being a dragon.
Finally, a great ganondorf fight. I liked his previous fights before but this one actually felt solid and difficult enough and less.. anti-climatic, aside from maybe demise, but he was just too easy. I do wish Ganondorf had more ending dialogue though but it was still great regardless.

Beautiful game, flawless music and a great ending. I really hope they keep with this format moving forward and build upon the action/survival elements. For me the best two zelda games ever created are botw and totk. I never thought The Wind Waker would be bested but it really has been and that was, until now, my absalute favourite Zelda title.

Doing this boss with no armor, and no op weapons, was soo fun, it was a challenge, but challenging ganondorf for a real 1v1 was cool af. Took me around 2 hours to beat him, seeing that cutscene where he calls back the phantoms and tells you to come at him was awesome.

You know what would have been a better execution for the Demon Dragon fight? This:
Right after swallowing the stone and transforming, Ganon ignores Link and flies into outer space to coat the entire planet in gloom using his breath. as Link helplessly watches the gloom fall from the sky, the sages come to and give their secret stones to Link, which then transform him not into a dragon, but into a godlike, winged being bathed in divine light and resembling Fierce Deity Link from Majora's Mask. Link then flies into space to confront Ganon, and a fight kind of similar to the one with Jubileus The Creator from Bayonetta ensues.
personal opinion but i would have loved if after the dragon you fight him for a final phase where he has none of his powers and its just a duel to the death between two warriors

I think they will do the long awaited Ocarina Of Time remake for the next console... Like a full remake, like FFVII did... It's probably already in develpment stage. It will sell a ton and then MM remake 2 or 3 years after....
And after those 2 games, I think Nintendo will make the next new entry Zelda game... probably 10 years from now....

If this is the end of Ganon as a big bad, it wouldn't really be hard to imagine Zelda games after this point. They've already made games with different (and arguably better) final bosses like Majora's Mask. I will say though, if this is the end of _these_ types of Zelda games then I am completely okay with it.
All depends on how he was resurrected, of which I am unaware, but he had given up on reincarnation in Breath of the Wild and ended Demise's cycle, so unless someone resurrects him again, he's dead for good this time. If there is a third BotW style game it could have a new villain. Maybe Vaati, in this timeline he will still be sealed inside the Four Sword. Or maybe someone entirely new.
