I know you might of liked it better without the sirens in the background as im exhausted of the same sounds... but with you playing over it theres a separate sense of melancholy that shines through. You've managed to make the whining and sighing of emergency vehicles sound pleasant because of your hauntingly untethered, smooth, yet bold as brass voice as well as the clear commitment and dedication to your instrument. Absolutely fantastic.
As a forest ecology student I love the pretty forest in the background of your videos Please keep posting videos for a long time Especially the gourd banjo stuff!
Just found this young lady on YT and you are soooo right, Ralph would definitely be proud. She has a voice that is unique, can’t put my finger on it but it’s absolutely beautiful. No auto tune needed on this one, every note hits perfectly! Gosh how I would have loved to hear her duet with Ralph.
All for more gourd banjo! Your voice and its mellow tones go so well together :) Hope you're enjoying the start of your winter months too. I want to experience the full suite of seasons up north there one day.
Love this ♥️ Still have the old OG vid of Nimrod Workman singing a version of O’ Death. I bare the same last name; Still not sure how to figure if I’m actually a distant relative of the fella. I digress. This is awesome ☺️
I just found your rendition of Big Iron and clicked this video next. You've got fingers of fire and a voice to match! And the police/ambulance sirens in the distance made it even eerier!
Thank the algorithm :) i have no idea about a clawhammer banjo( maybe the way its played?) It sounds hard to control, but :) it adds something hauting to the song itself. Good choice for today:)
Clawhammer is the old way of playing it. Downstrokes only, no upstrokes at all. You play a solid, driving rythem and use pull offs, hammer ons, and drop your thumb off of the drone string to fill in the melody on top of it. It's a blast of a style, and gives itself to improvising and jamming a lot.
Excellent playing of a difficult song! I'm very interested in the particular style of banjo you are playing! What is it called and where did you find it?
theres a faint siren in the background in some parts, i think it really adds to it, as the content of the lyrics really match with maybe.. a medical emergency I love this I just started learning banjo and i love it! currently using an old english style which has been lent to me, but ill be getting one for myself at christmas!
why do you call a oud a banjo (the title says 'banjo')? :) okay, i'm no musician, but this thing resembles a oud in many ways; be it the sound, the shape, or the fretlessness. obviously you're not playing it like a oud, that's for sure, but the instrument seems more 'oud-y' to me than anything else i'm aware of. :)

I think your coat is touching the drum, it has a spooky growl to it. Very good!
It was! I was trying to shake it off a bit to no success

Yessss! Fantástico! Talise Tunes era tudo que eu precisava ouvir nessa tarde triste ❤
Nice. I half expected one of those figures walking along the horizon to have a sickle in their hands... Spooky.
If I walked past the woods and heard a disembodied voice and banjo, I'd definitely get chills!
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹✨♥️
This sounds good ❤😊
Just what I needed now. Thank You.
Awesome rendition, sister. This has been one of my favorites, for a long time. And a happy belated Halloween to you! 🙂🎃🎃🎃👍👍

Amazing! ❤❤🔥🔥Subbed!!!!
Thanks for the sub🔮
This is terrific. Very much your own and still captures what makes the song amazing and powerful.
I stand corrected from my comment on your Big Iron cover: This is the most Wild West thing I've ever seen.
Coming straight from eastern Canada haha
One of my favorites and what a nice gourd banjo. Planning on building me one this winter.
Oh awesome! 🤎 Good luck with your build ☺️
Killed it! Always great to see your videos and hear your music

So gourd damn good!
Had to view this at half speed 😅 mad skills Talise 🦔
Thanks!!🦝
I see a lot of Americans embrace past days lately. The more advanced we get the more simplicity becomes desired.
'advanced', lol
@VideoMeltdown like the build a virus people, they are not our kind.
A collab between you and Lost Dog Street Band would be legendary
Absolutely love them, that’d be a dream
I like your banjo!

So good. My preferred style of abject misery!
Misery goes well with gourd banjo
The sirens in the background actually added to the song.
Being in a city even if only temporarily definitely makes me hum this tune in my head constantly
:) This is So Goood
LOVE
This performance would not be out of place in a Yurt somewhere near Tashkent.
Maybe one day
700th like 👍
That tune taunted me all day, Thanks for calling her out.
That… banjo? Has a great tone for this song
Pretty..
:)
Hmmm, those figures walking behind you on the horizon…normal people enjoying a beautiful day, or spectres from the world beyond?
Great Oh Death 💀😅
😊😂❤короче, представил быт с такой женой, в мобайлхоуме, в трейлер парке, и она в очередной раз сожгла в духовке пирожки:
👍❤️🪕
