I went to my son’s graduation the past weekend and was standing in line for the washroom at Frank Pepe’s. I saw this guy in the kitchen taking pics with the staff. Then he got behind me in line. Its was Chazz. Such a pleasant aura. Had me smiling.
As the son of Italian immigrants, this gives me another reason to be proud of our rich & beautiful heritage. Thank you Chazz. How this video only has 497 likes is beyond my comprehension.
Thanks a lot for the amazing episode!! I wached yesterday for the first time Bronx Tale (in English of course) and I loved it! I loved every single character in the movie. It was great! Was fasinating to hear the whole back story about the birth of Bronx Tale movie from Chazz Palminteri!! How he started from a real childhood story to then convince the right person to let him play Sonny's character and to write the screenplay! Really inspiring!!! Thanks to Growing Up Italian podcast I'm learning a whale new things about Italian-American culture (I watched tones of episodes already) that as Italian I wasn't aware of. Thanks to this podcast I'm also slowly diging into the history of Italian emigration to America and it's really interesting but really really sad. A gray page of Italian history especialy for south Italy (where I'm from). Italian-American should really be proud of ther haritage and for what they did for that cuntry. I read that they were very disriminated (like many other races) and had to work really really hard to have very little back. Something terrble that my generation probably can't even imagine. I'm a fun of the podcast and I hope that one day I will come to New York to visit the main Italian spots! Keep it up guys!
I m italian (from Padova) and i watched the movie a few days ago for the first time. I loved the movie and I want to thank you so much for this amazing interview! And Chazz is a star but he looks so humble, this is really fantastic! Grazie mille ragazzi, un caro saluto da Padova ❤ 👍

Unfortunately the French took over Corsica around the time Napoleon was born. Napoleon’s parents and his ancestors were Italian. And he spoke Italian before he learned French
Chaz thinks murdering people was ok because it was 500 years ago? lol... The Portuguese were far superior when it came to navigation. Italians have plenty to be proud of without the farce of Columbus. His own men wrote about him (Columbus) negatively........There were still morals 500 years ago. First time I’ve caught this PC . Watched because they had The Great Chazz Palminteri as a guest ! The guy is definitely one of my top 5 fav actors of all time! Chazz brought up that his Father was never late to work in his 30 yrs as I Bus driver ! The hilarious irony is that, as a young guy, Chazz had a job at a travel agency, right next to his Stoop , literally next door… an was always late 😭🤣🤣😭
A Bronx tale is my most favorite movie of all time I had it on vhs and laserdisc even growing up. I bet a lot of people don’t remember laserdisc lol. I can quote the movie by heart and everyone I meet I judge them by whether or not they watched that classic

I've always said that the Roman Empire has mixed Levant ancestry and yes Chazz is Sicilian, most definitely of Moorish bloodline!!! The most beautiful people in The Mediterranean!!! North African and Roman (heavily Germanic), what a rich dish!!! He could pass for Cuban on any given day!!! (ala Desi Arnaz).
The way in which I never beg for anything but am begging to be on this podcast though??? boys if you ever need a guest.. you always have this sicilian napolitan girl from long island. Oh my good lord. Bless this podcast lmao.
Love him❤ I’ve heard people say you’re not really Italian if your born in America and or if you don’t speak fluent Italian . It’s about the blood flowing through our veins . Argentina has so many Italians and so does Australia does that make them non Italian because they don’t live in Italy. It’s ridiculous.
People must realize Italians are the original Latin people then came their cousins Spaniards, French, Portuguese, and Romanians. They def have some North African/Middle Eastern ancestry besides Italian.I want to see his ancestry dna results to see if he is 100%.I understand that back in the day colonization was the norm, but killing natives etc was/is not normal. Columbus and the Spanish did not discover America when natives were already here. Why hyperbolize events to make you look better? Columbus EXPLORED NOT DISCOVERED America...those are NOT synonymous terms. BTW, I am not an ideologue, I see things holistically from a non-prismatic point of view. Even during chattel slavery people like to forget that Africans willfully sold their own people into slavery with the Europeans. Our school system likes to spread paralogy as oppose to the truth.
Man, i know the Bronx tale word for word lol.. Philly Italians are way different than New York imo. But we love those movies man.. I dont speak Italian, wish I did. Never been to Italy. But regardless I was rasied ITALIAN (American)!
My father beat the daylights out of a soldier (during WWII) who called him a daigo. Funniest thing about it was my Dad outranked him, was 5’5” but he never called my Dad a condescending name r/t being an Italian again!

I think the confusion for Italian Americans is that Columbus Day is a day for all Italians. Yes he may have been Italian. But this day is for him. Not all Italians. It would be better if Italians. Had an Italian day. Or Italian heritage day. That has nothing to do with any one man. But all Italians. As a culture. I myself am Native Indigenous Mexican Born and raised in America.
