Joe tells a great story in the Eagles movie about him and John Belushi getting trashed in Chicago and trying to eat at some nice restaurant but they wouldn’t allow them in with blue jeans 👖 so they find a store and buy 2 cans of black spray paint, painted the jeans and they let them in… but they ruined these beautiful chairs with their painted butt prints on them. ❤🎸🤘🏼

Joe has had brilliant careers with the James Gang, the Eagles and his solo work, you can't go wrong as long as he is playing on the tune, no matter where it was originally. He is that good. For me, his most potent work is on the James Gang Live, that album is volcanic and not only showcases his masterful, explosive electric guitar (he is lethal with a Gibson Les Paul guitar on that album) but it also showcases a great sample of his organ playing and then his acoustic guitar. He is a virtuous on several instruments. He is just on another world on that tour, it is one of the best live performances by anyone, period, in Rock History. Do the first song, Stop, a raging rocker steeped in the blues, that guitar could saw through concrete! Please react to this entire album when you can, it will freak you out and you will have heard the best music he ever produced, ever, for me, and I love his entire career. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎶🔥
Joe was into that dueling guitar sound early on. Normally his own overdubs. When he joined the Eagles it only got better playing with Don Felder peaking with Hotel California.
I don’t know if he still does but he lived in my same town in Encinitas that I grew up in. My buddy in High School tutored his kid and he used to drop by the local music store!

Joe went to College at Kent State university. The massacre that Neil Young sang about in the song Ohio took place there. The National guard opened fire on innocent students.
Not sure it is his magnum opus, but it is as good as it gets and he has more! Funk #47 (49?). He is someone who wasn't trying to take you anywhere different necessarily, but man while we are here together we are going to really enjoy it. To me, just some of the best songwriting supporting a bluesy rock almost soul. But hell with genre. Ha ha! I love the channel La and Chi, as I learn a ton.
