Jooheon/Joohoney is not just an artist. Globally, he is one of the best storytellers. The intricate and interactive art of using his words coupled with his emotions and expressions reveal the storyline of the song. The elements of the MV plus the musicality is astounding.
The melancholy in his voice as he starts to question his very existence, the yearning for someone to find him as he feels trapped in the middle of nowhere, everything becomes cloudy. Engulfed in darkness, he tries his hardest to free himself from whatever the pain he is feeling. His expression shows exhaustion and the feeling of defeat but then, you can feel the strength as he tries to battle through it.
SMOKY - this is a healing song. And I hope that this song reaches those who needed to hear it to help them in their healing too.
This song really broke MBBs heart because we really think he is talking about his hiatus and how he felt when he was gone due to anxiety. Thank you for reacting to him and Monsta X!
I think Smoky was about his anxiety and his hiatus. His whole mixtape “PSYCHE” is quite dark.

It almost feels like a full circle where he sings about his struggles and we in turn, take this song to comfort us of our own struggles.
He might have needed comfort but instead, he's comforting us. That's why I'm so grateful he speaks about it and tell us how important it is to be good to yourself, to make yourself happy, regardless of what's happening around you. This makes him such a great person, on top of all his talents. He truly is great - a great rapper, a great person and I just hope more people are exposed to his music.

Early this year, around January, the company announced that Jooheon had to take hiatus from his group schedule cause of anxiety attack he got. idk why or how.. but i can feel that he living a very hard time during those hiatus because of the anxiety. The hiatus quite long tho.. about 3 or 4 months.. before MX Fantasia comeback.
So i guess SMOKY is about his struggle when he got anxiety, and the way he fight it to be with his group member and Monbebe again 😔😭
Yea prob he wrote that after his rest from anxiety. Obviously it was the issues with wonho and having received so many hates towards the group at the end of 2019 is gonna hurt the members and esp Jooheon because we all know how softy at his heart
Joohoney is a real artist. That's a fact. And no one can disagree with it. He's an all rounder, a multi talented person. As u mentioned he's a genius. No one can replace him. His power is another level. There's nothing he can't do.

Yes, this was a one shot video. Jooheon really broke all our hearts, yet at the same time it was really healing. I get chills too everytime I watch it.

smoky is about (living with) anxiety, fear, feeling down. jooheon had suffered from anxiety attacks earlier this year and had to take a break because he couldn’t continue performing. we don’t exactly know why but ofc mx went through a lot since last year, and i’m sure life as an artist can be really hard at times. the song is kind of like a book of his own mind, but it can speak to a lot of people.
jooheon is literally one of my favourite artists ever and the amount of respect en admiration i have for him just doubled after he put this out.

Overall, his 'Psyche' mixtape is one of the most powerful albums I've had the priviledge to listen to. Smoky is similar to that of 3doors down, nickelback or 3rd eye blind.
I truly sympathise with Jeff whenever he clicks the video looking for cc on MX channel. Starship needs to step-up their game, they’re promoting a global group but doesn’t learn everytime
so true, the monchannels still don't get subs on youtube to this day. it's been 5 years of every other comment telling them to put subs and nothing. sse is loosing so many new potential fans ik they put subs on vlive after a few days but that's really not enough

I absolutely love his vocal timbre. It I were to compare it to anything, it’s like a trumpet. Despite the raspiness, it has such a bright ring to it. It’s such a unique and versatile voice.

Wait, I can't remember the No.1 & No.4 intros from. But, the No.2 intro is the intro for AAA 2018 stage, and he change the lyrics. I LOVE JOOHEON TOOOO! For the intro you said it all, I love the fact that his rap is not monotone and that he interprets his songs too. You can hear and feel his emotions even if you don't understand a thing! The growling, the laughing in the background, the angsty tight rap, the funny one...and everything is mixed perfectly with a strong and catchy base too! I love every part of it. Smoky, on the contrary, is simply his soul and it's beautiful.

ahhh it should have had the english subs by now TT_TT thank you for reacting to jooheon and i am waiting for your reaction video. Smoky is really an emotional song for me. Even though i dont understand fully the lyrics, i cried a lot when i first listen to it. The reason there is the kids in the song is where in his line he says he wants to go back to being a child because he dont need to think about anything. Personally i think the reason why the place is in oone place is to indicate how the trying to escape from his mind that is smoky. again, thank you for reacting, this means a lot to me.

Jooheon worked on his mixtape for a long time, Smokey was thought to be about his hiatus but it was written before he actually went on hiatus. We all knew what happened with the group before he officially took a break, they were all going through a hard time and it seemed like his anxiety had been building up until that point...
Intro: Ambition is a compilation of all his year end award show and music festival intro raps from like the past two years which is why it sounds like 4 different songs but they were recorded in the same session so he switches his flow 4 times and is still able to pull it off. I know everyone has different opinions on which idols are the best at what but he is genuinely the best rapper of the third gen and definitely one of the top rappers in the whole industry, obviously I'm biased since I'm a monbebe but I genuinely can't think of another third gen rapper that can match what he does in his solo work. I highly recommend checking out his other mixtapes MVs, they're all so different and have their own unique sound, and don't forget to keep an eye out for his 3rd mixtape mv Psyche, it's coming out soon!
