Patrick Mahomes is a young and talented quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He is known for his arm strength, mobility, and ability to make plays under pressure. Mahomes is one of the most exciting players in the NFL, and he is sure to be a star for many years to come. Born in Tyler, Texas in 1995, Mahomes comes from a family of athletes - his father, Pat Mahomes, was a former Major League Baseball pitcher, and his mother, Randi, played college basketball.
Mahomes played multiple sports in high school, including basketball and baseball, but it was on the football field where he truly shone. He attended Texas Tech University, where he played as the starting quarterback for the Red Raiders for two seasons. During his time at Texas Tech, Mahomes set multiple records, including the NCAA record for most yards in a single game with 819 yards against Oklahoma.
After declaring for the 2017 NFL Draft, Mahomes was selected as the 10th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs. In his rookie season, he served as the backup quarterback to Alex Smith. However, when Smith was traded to the Washington Redskins in 2018, Mahomes was given the opportunity to take the reins as the starting quarterback for the Chiefs.
Mahomes' first season as a starter was nothing short of spectacular. He threw for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns, earning himself the NFL Most Valuable Player award and leading the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game. Although they fell short of reaching the Super Bowl that year, Mahomes and the Chiefs bounced back in the 2019 season, securing their place in the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years.
In the Super Bowl LIV, Mahomes led the Chiefs to an epic comeback victory against the San Francisco 49ers, throwing for over 280 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter alone. He was named the Super Bowl MVP, becoming the second-youngest quarterback in history to win the award.
Mahomes' success on the field can be attributed to his exceptional talent, intelligence, and work ethic. He is known for his ability to make incredible plays on the run, throwing accurately and powerfully even while dodging defenders. He is also a master at reading defenses and making split-second decisions, which has earned him the nickname "The Magician."
Off the field, Mahomes is known for his humble and gracious demeanor. He is heavily involved in charity work, particularly with his own foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of children in need. He is also a dedicated husband to his high school sweetheart, Brittany Matthews, and a proud father to their daughter.

Mahomes has that special quality that I've only seen 2 successful QBs have. That quality is : Although everyone in the room knows that you're the BEST player on the field, and you've proven it yet again, you still give ALL praise and credit to the coaching staff, your fellow teammates, the opponent and truly mean it. The other 2 are TB12 and Peyton Manning. If Mahomes stays healthy and continues to rise despite the departure of OC Eric Bienemy, he'll set the pace for QBs in The NFL. I agree with sports reporter Nick Wright when he says Patrick Mahomes is on The GOAT trajectory. It's still early.

Dude didn’t even want to compete to start for our bowl game against Arizona St. Davis Webb was the QB who made Mayfield transfer. Hilarious that Webb was drafted in 2017 and started his first game in week 18 of last year for the Giants, while promptly retiring and coaching to coach Russell Wilson as a QB coach at 28 years old lmao.

I'll always believe Mahomes is one of those guys who'd just be a foot note in history, if not an outright bust if he'd gone anywhere but Kansas City. I don't know if its due to being a fan, but this dynasty felt like you could feel it building, and didn't seem to come out of nowhere like many do. The feeling when Reid was hired that it seemed like a better hire than we would have ever hoped for. Adding long term talent that was drafted and developed as opposed to overpaying free agents for a limited window felt as if that gave the Chiefs the ability to spend money wisely and it freed kc up to get some plug and play veterans that contributed in ways other than production. What Mahomes did in 2018 led the fanbase to believe that winning, and sustained winning was probable if not expected. When the results were above and beyond, you got the feeling that you realized "oh...I see. So to succeed in the NFL all you need to do is draft a generational qb talent. It makes sense. We really should have tried that long ago.

Grew up in Washington State. Picked Chief's as my favorite team when I was 8 in 1973 (Seahawks weren't born yet) Been through AAAALL these years. Brutal until maholms. Only team to have #1 seed 3 times & not get past devisional round. Then they go down 24 zip to Houston back in that first SB run! I couldn't believe it. Threw shit! Turned channel! Only to go back & see they scored 28 in 6 min. It's been sweet. Long time coming for me (My daughter's name is Kacee)..lol
