So many awesome quotes in the piano solos!
The pianist is from other world! incredible!
Playing and looking Fabulous!
Andreas is always amazing and this performance is no exception! The suprise here is the keyboardist! At first glance I wasn't expecting such a hip cat!=} Gr8 phrasing and choice of notes by all!! Thanks for posting this!
Regards,R~
super !!!
Andreas is the man.
smooth
@Jazztastic2112 i scrolled down the comments just to see if anybody wrote something like this, because if it wasnt there i was going to do it. thank you.
Andreas
@JazzJunkie4 Yes, totally
@norostereo actually it's bossa nova
"Le Q Theme" from his "Young Jazz Guitarist" album
he is so underrated...
Jazzkat i think.....but what guitar is that?
@jamesdickens12345 Better how? Better technique? I doubt it. Or do you just like thier style better?
@asxefv Both, there's tons of theory behind it and also you should here it before you play it so you "feel" it too. Start with wes montgomery and really listen to what he does over each chord
Marian Petrescu
I can't understand or believe that this immense talent left the jazz world for childish K-Pop , umh - he's no longer an artist just another pimp out for the big bucks. Goodbye Andreas.
I think that is a very wild claim! yes this is extremely good jazz, but just because he used his life in a school, doesn't mean that he is a better artist than others? and so did lady gaga! and her melodies and way of creating pop music is quite innovative! Both songs is their own things, and do well in their own aspects. i find them both quite good:)
@William102582 lol!!!!!!!!!!
@KDFrieds Benson didnt come up with all the licks that he plays. Bireli doesnt play like benson neither. With that thoughts every jazz player plays like benson, even jazz players that were born before Benson. Dude, pay attention.
I agree, he is a killer machin anyway.
Benitez on piano :P
Its Marian Petrescu!
watching this video in 2020 lol
Me too! Glad I found Andreas - incredible plating!
Andreas is a great guitarist with a technique startled, but still very young;
he suffers from excess ideas and virtuosity: on the other hand also a virtuoso pianist but with more maturity
Playing and looking Fabulous!
True, which makes it more remarkable that a select few have strong identities despite what I call " preserving historical forces" through imitation. Jazz music is a great equalizer. Only a few make it out of the imitator or "slick willy" stages with a strong identity. It sems that less and less are forging strong identities
starsk2009 ---> It doesnt sound to Benson, the sound, it is a mile away from benson style. I agree with the else.
totally just takes andreas oberg out in the last couple bars of his solo... damn petrescu.. he is a fucking monster. i don't think andreas even went as fast. i have worked so hard to play guitar.. and now i wanna play fucking piano...
Makes me proud to be swedish and i'm really not the patriot-type.
He also masters gipsy-jazz which is saying a lot being that he is not from that culture.
Check out Resonance Records new release A Tribute To Oscar Peterson, an introduction to Marian Petrescu. It is just fantastic!
all of the musicians here are amazing...
technically, but i think musically he's nothing compared to them, especially to george benson.
My lucky day I found YuTu Andreas and others it is remarkable a person with such atalent
can someone give me the name of more young jazz guitar players as Oberg ?please?
a little bit of Tom Jobim on the piano solo.
this marian petrescu dude is a badass. oberg is sweet too.
Tocan todos excelente pero Marian Petrescu la metio en el angulo.
i think he should work with michael buble
complete agree
this is bossa!
7:36 pianist went on a musical orgasmic berserk, maximum insanity. I don't know how many times I replayed that part
@MrJMREISSER I agree, I get the feeling that musicians are made into copies of each other these days. I mean, my guitar teacher told me to listen to this guy and all of the old jazz guys and copy them... What the hell? I thought music was about self expression...
you are going to listen to Benson, Wes, Howard Roberts, pat Martino, Barney Kessell..etc and copy them?
give your self at least 10-20 years and 2-5 hours practice per day..sight reading which will aid your ear training..and then maybe you will be at their entry levels..if you are lucky and try hard and listen enough
HAHAHAHAHA xD
very nice ! です.
its called Le Q Theme
What song is this?
@MrMjp58 he was also a good tennis-player. And to be a good tennis-player is very difficult so obviously he is a very talented person.
Intense chops
This is great jazz. Oberg's album: Young Jazz Guitarist, is amazing:-)
And Marian Petrescu is an top of the notch piano player.
Both Andreas and Marian are bringing this new life force to Jazz its absolutely phenomenal it saddens me that the world today is such an ignorant peice of ****... laddy gaga gets 3 million veiws singing a song that really didnt take ANY skill to make and Andreas studys at the best schools and plays incredibly technical IMPROVISED solos that took FOREVER to devolope and he only get 400k on his most popular video.. ppl need to wake the hell up
So with that said i think that said i think it only seems that theyr more popular.i cant really think of anyone i personally know that listens to that stuff except for maybe my 11 year cousin lol.gaga beiber perry are kind of just 'PHASE' musical icons.theyll be out of style in a couple years.just like the artist b4 them.remember panic at the disco?they were very big and fall out boy?theyr just people in the spotlight so dont worry ,this music actually more well appreciated
well i was thinking about it.and conclusion i came to is although it seems that people such as lady gaga,beiber ect seem to be the attration of the worlds attentions i think that more people actually dislike them than like them.they just happen to be subject to mass media.if you scroll through youtubes metal,classical,folk,jazz,swing,old rap,russian,doowap,crooners,60s 70s rocknroll,alternative,soundtrack, youll find that they all post the same comments saying"the world listens to beiber Y?"
you should look some more into petrescu's playing then, he's definitely one of the coolest cats, gets repetitive at times, but always fun to listen to!
@Benteiron Check out Lawson Rollins Fire Cadenza. Unique and perfect. Not a copy but the definition of Self Expression.
i love the phrasing that Marian Petrescu played in his solo part, i think it's better than oberg, it's meaningful .
Pat Martino's phrasing, technique and clarity are at this level.
damn that was sick. Petrescu definitely didn't let Oberg steal the show, which isn't easy :-D great playing
Where can i learn how to play this kind of solos ? is it just what you feel or there's a theory of it ?
Great playing as always. Now, it's time for originality. Oberg will deliver!
Truth is positive!
NYC
An amazingly talented musician. Some guys have all the luck.. as someone once sang.
AWESOME !! Kind Regard Laszlo Sirsom Australia
genius pure and simple genius there is no others lik andreas and marian

7:56 reminds me of the head to Mile Davis' Dr. Jekyll
I can hear george bensons's influence here

Much better than Benson!

He idiolizes Benson and that is a fact! He and I followed Benson around at NAAM like puppies!
