    This is really an awesome car. It eats up the highway miles, and blows away any tailgater that may try and bother you. The gas tank is tiny thanks to the independent rear suspension and big limited slip diff, the gas mileage is, eh... OK, as long as you can keep your foot out of it, but I couldn't. It's too much fun. Other than that, its a really nice machine. I don't understand why you would pay thousands more for a similarly equipped, boring, German snob-box. (I do realize that this is a Mercedes chassis, but that's not why people buy it.) With traction control turned off, (great big,easy-to-find button, and not hidden in computer settings like big luxury brands) this is a modern day version of a late 60's family hot rod, pure and simple. Good value for the price, but still an expensive car, although, unlike a BMW or Audi, it wont cost thousands to repair in the unlikely event that anything goes wrong under the hood. The 5.7 is a tough engine that's been around for quite a while, the same goes for the five-speed mated to it.

    Well done vid! The more I love my Chrysler 300 . Thank you for driving in such a beautiful backdrop of scenery while pointing out the features and benefits of this dream car.

      Would like to have your opinion please. A 2012 300 with the 5.7 v8 with 115,000 miles, Do u still think that engine has some life in it or is that too many miles? Thank you.

    • @vixtwelve2448
      @vixtwelve2448 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@a.d.c7941 if it was highway miles then it’s ok. Depends on how it was treated and if it was well maintained. 115k miles is not horribly many miles but be aware of maintenance and repair history if any.

    I just bought this exact car (2012 v8 awd black) back in March and love it so far. Amazing to see this was a nearly 50k car new when I bought mine for less than 20k with only 33k miles.

    Don't have to put it in Neutral and back from Manual, All you have to do is hold it towards the plus sign and it will get it in to automatic.

  • @bradley7506
    @bradley7506 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When using this car in manual shift mode you can get back to automatic mode by pushing the shift lever to the right for a second.... no need to shift into neutral and back to drive as you indicated.

    My co-worker has the 2012 Chrysler 300 AWD V-8. He has 296,000 miles on it and it has been a great car. He said every 100,000 miles the radiator cracks (first time the top tank. second time the bottom tank). He doesn't complain though, because they are only $99 new on e-bay and easy to change out.

    19" wheels came on the AWD they also have -55 offset unlike -25...also you can force RWD or AWD with a tazer z which makes it nice.

    Nice review...You helped influence my decision to get a 2012c. I purchased it two weeks ago and very pleased with my purchase. This car is FAST! I was able to disappoint would be speed demons by excelerating so that they could not pass! There are no HEMI decals to give away the power that is harnessed under this sharp looking sedan. I had to play with the shifter to learn how to take it out of ALL WHEEL which you can also use in manual as well...The 2015 does not come in v8 ALL WHEEL which why I feel privileged to have this gem. Thanks for a good review.

      PpsyP you wrote this a while ago so I hope you respond. I would like to know how that car is holding up? I’m thinking about getting one and would like to get some info about it’s reliability?

    FYI...you can disengage the manual trans mode. below is from the user manual of the car. what you said about going to N then D to disengage is not correct
    "To disengage AutoStick® mode, hold the shift lever to the
    right or press and hold the (+) shift paddle (if equipped)
    until “D” is once again indicated in the instrument cluster.
    You can shift in or out of the AutoStick® mode at any time
    without taking your foot off the accelerator pedal."

    I've driven most of the C's competitors and found that the Japanese and Germans aren't really trying anymore. When out on test drives, I would ask about certain features that were missing that the 300C had, I would get the typical "Ya, but it's a Merc/Acura/BMW/Lexus" attitude, to which I would reply "So then there is no excuse, is there?". I don't care about make or model, I care about what you get for the money, and for this there is nothing that can touch a well appointed 300C.

    On the autoshift, if you shift it all the way to the right, it should put it back into drive instead of having a 6th gear option :) thats how it works on my brothers charger at least!

    That's a first. I've driven them both (2012 models) & they felt like the same car build quality wise, & they are basically. If anything, the 300C felt a little nicer as it's geared more towards luxury versus the Charger R/T. The 300C definitely had the nicer ride quality though & it also seemed to be more quiet inside. I noticed that within the first 1/2 mile of driving them back to back. When it call comes down to it, they're both extremely nice cars which is all that really matters.

    This is a great looking car, inside and out. The tan leather interior looks especially nice. One complaint though. The tan carpeting in the footwells is really going to show the dirt, especially in winter. Chrysler should put dark brown carpeting in the footwells and maybe even a brown color on the lower door panels and the outsides of the center-stack, where your feet touch it, so the dirt won't be as visible. Check out the tan interior of the Buick Regal to get an idea of what I mean.

    U can go back to automatic mode from manual by pushing the transmission knob towards the right and holding it for 2 -3 seconds and it goes back to auto..you don't have to move to neutral

    holy moly , 47000 for a 300C which should be the luxury version. i might aswell spend another 1000 for the beast mode srt8 . or save about 15000 and just get the very nicely equpped 300S.

    The cup holders with its heat and cold settings keeps your coffee warm or your beer or soda cold. WTH did he just say? I had to rewind that one and go back to what he said. WOW, so you can drive this car with a beer and it stays cold? Well I am sold on this vechicle on just that alone. lol
    Did anyone else find that a little odd?

    Very classy for an American car, but its one of those cars that if you can afford to run it, youd buy the real deal ( in this case, a bentley ).

    • @markuswest7408
      @markuswest7408 8 ปีที่แล้ว
