I will tell you why people don't report loose dogs. My neighbors dog came in the yard of my home daycare approached the children and growled at them. I called animal control and the next year of our life was hell. My husband is a cop. She repeatedly called his supervisor he almost lost his job. They harassed us, threatened and intimidated us. They threw fireworks at our house. It got so bad we moved and i closed my daycare just so my husband wouldn't loose his job and we could have peace and be safe. People who let their dogs roam feel entitled and they get angry and aggressive when they get called on it.
I'm really sorry you went through that. There are indeed so many entitled people around here who feel like they don't have to use a leash or control their dogs. Having said that, I don't think you should have moved. Leaving like that only would serve to positively reinforce such toxic behavior. I think every state has laws against stalking and harassment at this point, and you very well may have been able to gather evidence on video (equipment might have been cheaper than moving) and either seek criminal charges or get a restraining order. If your husband's supervisor was aware of the situation, he or she should have supported your husband; if your husband nearly lost his job because of someone else's wrongful behavior, that's more of a problem with the job (or its management) than anyone else involved.
I have volunteered for years in animal rescue and this is unfortunately very true. The dog owners blame us for their dogs being taken to the shelter as a stray and they have to come get them.
Children should not wander around the community without their parents either. This family clearly didn’t protect their children. It’s on their hands. That kids blood is on bit the dog owners and Michael’s parents hands now.
That family has been reported multiple times by their neighbors for them neglecting their animals and failure to contain them. There are multiple reports. Though it’s not for those dogs specifically, they have repeatedly been reported for their mistreatment of horses and none of the reports ever amounted to anything. We have reported them. Look further into their ENTIER family and you will find exactly what you are looking for. Neighbors down Corgan have threatened to shoot those dogs for their behavior because the reports were constantly squashed.
“This is very rare” What?! No- actually it’s becoming a weekly/monthly issue hearing about fatal dog attacks all over the country. Dog bites, attacks have never ever been considered “rare”.
It's not rare at all. Maybe rare in that community but not rare nationwide. Either children get attacked, or they jump on elderly people out for a walk. You can't even leave your house anymore . I stopped going to my park because people were dumping fight dogs in the woods at my beautiful nature park. Let's all take a guess what breed the dogs are.
Such people should not be allowed to have any animal!!! This is negligence of the authorities!!! The poor mother of the little boy, and of course that poor little boy!!! What a horrific way for him to be murdered!!! Rest in peace little guy🙏🙏🙏 Jesus, hold him close to your heart and comfort his mother and family🙏🙏🙏😭😭😭
@sevenmessengers4805 Not only is this story horrific. IT IS TOO LATE. Either the laws are too loose or there is wilfull neglect by not enforcing the laws in place.
Maybe actually do something when you call animal services about dangerous dogs. There was a pit bull/mastiff cross pulling people off motorcycles in Marion County. Multiple people called about that dog but Marion County informed them that there was nothing they could do unless an animal control officer witnessed aggressive or you were willing to sign an affidavit and go to court as a witness. The people who owned the dog were drug dealers. No one was going to court to testify against them. Eventually, someone shot the dog because Marion County was fine with waiting until someone died.
I don’t own a firearm, but I keep a 4 foot long piece of rebar in my truck and at my house. If a dog attacked me or my dog that would be the last time. I think people need to be more proactive protecting themselves, their family and pets.
@@CastleMcUnless you know or work with an AC officer don’t say negative things like that. They are held to very strict laws on what they can and can’t do. Just like them not being able to euthanize these dogs without the owners consent. They should be able to do so but city laws prohibit them.
Government & authorites need to change the ridulous laws and make it mandatory that owners be charged to the full extent. People do not report as nothing is done over and over. Pitt Bulls need to be banned or monitored with strict rules if you own one! So many times innocent people are killed, YES killed how does the law need to ask this disgusting owner to hand over the dogs. Stop blaming the dogs! You’re not even willing to understand the basics. Dogs do not attack if not provoked, neglected or abused. Somebody has CLEARLY stated that these dogs have been ABUSED/ not treated properly. Dogs are great family companions, but if a psychopath or an i*iot owns one, they can associate certain gestures and movements with their oppressor and act on impulse. Traumatized individuals behave similarly.
@@AlaskaLPSat the end of the day, they have an ANIMAL instinct, clear example of what happened to the boy, he went to pet them, and they killed him. Some dogs are just naturally aggressive even when they are NOT provoked.
That seems reasonable! It would be almost impossible to enforce. Better to ban the one breed and see what difference that makes. Australia and the UK have banned them as well as cities in the US.
But the pitbull defenders would say these dogs are just awesome. They are unpredictable weapons. How come you never hear a poodle killed a child? Go ahead start defending these beasts
I tossed my little 9 lb Shih Tzu in the park garbage can because a pit bull got loose from the owners lead in a public park and came running after my quiet 19 year old little dog. The garbage cans in the park have concrete around the outside of the cans, so I knew my dog was safe. One of the local politicians saw what happened and he had the owner of the dog arrested right then and there telling him that he scared me and my dog to death, which was true. These people that walk these dogs in public parks can't even control them on a lead they're so powerful. Our park staff will even supply a lead for people that are unaware of the park rules and laws, and you should see how arrogant people get when they offer them a lead. There was another girl in the park, same thing, refused to put her dog on a lead. The police showed up at her house and arrested her. It's a state law, try something new and obey the law !
As a responsible owner, kiss my ass. Some of us actually do what you should. The reason you don't hear about other dog attacks, is because that doesn't go well in the media. Then you have accessibility, and what is trending. Add in WHO owns them & then yeah, surprise surprise. My toy pomeranian is 8lbs & 12yrs old. My oldest pit 14yrs. The others close behind. But yeah total beasts. You are a disgrace. Instead of wanting to clean up shitty owners or put in place accountability, you blame the entire breed. Guess all blacks are criminals, all whites are racist, I could go on & on based on your ignorant ass logic.
This is so heartbreaking. I cannot imagine the pain of this boy’s loved ones knowing that his last moments were so scary and painful. Ban pit bulls! Every time you hear a story like this, it’s always a very few select breeds. Yes, other breeds sometimes bite, but there are a handful that regularly actually kill.
I have 2 very sweet rescue PitBulls, but I am very careful to keep them and other people and dogs protected. I don't believe in banning them, but they need boundaries and owners that know how to handle them. BTW, one was a Catahoula mix
Not premeditated?? The garbage owner was warned many times. She was well aware of the dangers. Of course more rights for criminals than innocent. Poor Michael and his mom.
It seems like there is an uptick in dogs attacking people, and I think they've all been pitbulls or pit mixes lately. There is a video of a guy on a bicycle that was attacked by some loose pitbulls, a couple running away from a pack of loose pitbulls, an elderly woman in California was attacked in front of her home, an elderly man in Texas was killed by loose pitbulls - in the latter instance the owners were sentenced for their dog's crimes. A guy in Pennsylvania was attacked when he tried to keep one or more loose pitbulls from attacking kids on Halloween. It wasn't the first time the dogs in the last two instances had been loose and unsupervised. These are just the reports making the news. All these reports do is reinforce the belief that pitbulls are dangerous animals who tend to be owned by irresponsible people.
Yes, you’re right. But, I am sure I t’s always been Pitbulls with an occasional other breed. They attack and kill daily. The media tried to hide it for a while, but they seem to be showing it nowadays.
More than 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year, with over half of the victims being children. Children under the age of 9 are especially vulnerable to dog bites.
Now is more important the vicious dogs than justice for the victim. The owners of these dogs have more rights than the victims. @ with such record , you still need her ok to take actions? Wow ..
This is absolutely heartbreaking 💔 😢.... The owner must be charged! Her dogs were roaming freely? That is so irresponsible and then the owner has a rap sheet a mile long. RIP sweet Michael. He is now an angel up in Heaven. Sending love ❤️ and healing prayers to the mom and family.
Its always the same types who have these killing machines with paws. Its not "the owner" its bred into every single one of them any can snap, happened to me more than once. People just DONT get it.
Owner needs to be charged, tried and convicted. How despicable to let dogs run loose. Even dogs that might not be dangerous act differently in packs. Pack being more than one.
@gordocarbo You are probably right. Raised two pitbulls from the time they were 8 weeks to adults. They were a brother and sister Spartacus and Luna. We live on 40 acres so never had them socialized with other animals just our two cats at the time. We hiked with them with no leashes but they would get into bad fights between each other, not fun to watch. Have no idea how they would have interacted with other dogs. I loved them dearly. They were so loyal, goofy and lovable towards us; my ex husband and myself. They were wonderful towards my sons. BUT like I said, I dont know how they would have interacted with other dogs. Such a tragedy to say the least.....RIP sweet little boy and may the irresponsible owner of these dogs be held accountable one way or another......
@@gordocarboI agree. I always shake my head when someone on social media brags about their sweet little "pitty" being so gentle, wouldn't hurt a fly. You are right they do not get it.
Apparently they knew already the dogs were a problem, but, we have to wait until some poor child dies a horrible death and now suddenly reaching out to the public for help. This is not an isolated incident, you read about these things happening on a regular basis. As far as waiting for the dogs owner to come forward, good luck with that. I can't imagine the pain and grief these parents are going through because apparently these dog owners that have vicious dogs have more rights than you or I. The owners had multiple reports by neighbors but still nothing was done and now look what happened. So next the dog owners will be booked and let out the next day like all criminals these days. There is no punishment. Those dogs should have been taken away after one or two reports, but nope, that didn't happen. Explain that to the parents of the dead child. How horrific !!

There shouldn't be no warrant or anything for this is a simple fact you go and arrest the owner simply because the crime has been committed by his dogs a child was killed there has to be an option by a judge instantly to get in their arrest them and then you you you you you you you you you you look at everything like a person gets arrested you go through all kinds of s*** just to keep him in jail what's wrong with this one

The owners in cases like this (druggies/criminals) want violent dogs. They do this for protection against the landlord, the Police drug raid team, rival criminals etc. Yes, she knew exactly what those dogs were. They were her bodyguards. They let themselves out of the yard and waited at the entrance of the subdivision for Mammy's return from her drug deals.
Absolutely horrifying. That poor boy. People who let their dogs roam must be held 100% responsible. In Houston animal control won't even come when called about stray or loose dogs and many run in packs which we all know can be deadly to humans or other animals. I am a huge dog lover and always have had multiple dogs and they've never roamed freely outside of our fenced yard or have hurt anyone. My heart breaks for this child and his family.
Agreed. The neighbor would have been within her reach right to shoot during the attack, had she gotten to her weapon. I’m sure it was too late. It’s a terrible situation.
Heartbreaking. Just a little boy out being a little boy. Riding bikes with his friend. The owner should be held responsible. After knowing the dogs where aggressive and the owner still allowed them out in the neighborhood. She should be charged with manslaughter. At the very least. She wasn't even home and the dogs where out. Very negligent.
Poor baby. I always tell my son never to ever pet any animals especially animals with no owners. Idc how friendly they seem animals are just that animals.
Where was animal control when this happened? I hope the county gets sued to bankruptcy, many people in volusia county have been calling animal control about these dogs and they have done absolutely nothing now they want to act like they are heroes.
Had they DONT THIER JOB in the first place this wouldnt have happened!!! Nobody did jack, kids died a horrible gruesome death and they wanna pat themselves on the back? Id wind up in jail hearing that!
The other video of the poor Mother screaming in the background is blood curdling. Will never be able to get it out of our head. It's absolutely horrendous. God give her the strength to get through this after what she has had to see and go through. She protected her son and warned others to even stay away so they wouldn't be hurt. Asked others to get her gun so she could deal with it. God Bless Michael and keep him in yours arms. The owner of the dogs (Amanda Franco) is an absolute monster based on her police record. Heavenly Father why did it have to come to this? Her inner demons came out and killed an innocent child based on the choices she made listening to them. Just heart wrenching. Can't believe it.
Growing up we rode our bikes everywhere. No one owned aggressive dogs. If their dog bit someone the owners themselves would put them down. People cared about their neighbors and there weren't predators. Poor kids. Cannot even do normal things Iike ride their bikes.
In 1970 we had a neighbor that had a dog named Satan - it was a huge black German shepherd - it chased everyone and finally bit me when I ( I was 10 years old )was walking home from school and the owners opened their front door - coincidentally when I was walking by on the sidewalk. He bit my upper arm and I had to get 5 stitches - I think after that finally they had to do something as the police were called and quarantined the dog . We didn’t ever see them again .
I’ve never seen two people try harder to distance themselves from an incident. This girl Angela couldn’t wait to call the incident rare and Mike is well, never mind
Condolences to Michael’s family. So many people have dogs and other pets thinking how cute they are and how they can entertain the owners. Yet, as the animal service director said, there comes a great responsibility owning pets, especially ones who can easily kill. It doesn’t help that the owner of these two dogs already has a record and irresponsibly has poor security. That fence wasn’t even secured. RIP AND JUSTICE FOR MICHAEL. 🙏🏼
I cant imagine this mothers pain. It made me cry. Its the usual suspects, most always Pit Bulls yet it goes on. BS about bad owners that does carry some weight at times yet the breed is toxic. WTF would you want a Pit Bull!

The animal control officer told me the dogs that attacked me were very gentle and friendly when she went to the owners home to confiscate them. I was able to escape and the dogs went 1/2 mile down the road and attacked another person. Owner had to taken to court to get them euthanized. 🤬
I can't stand when I see certain dogs that's roaming the streets alone but I have a pitbull sometime that comes on my street and we have a park across the street and these dogs come out here and then I'd be so nervous and helping kids don't go to that playground.. Wow, this 13-yr-old spokesperson for Volusia Co. has obviously learned, from her YEARS of experience, how to address a community, grieving this tragedy of unknown suffering. Let's start by: 1. Being Extremely DEFENSIVE (w/out provocation); 2. Praising yourselves for whatever action Was taken; 3. And, not even one word acknowledging this family's LOSS of THEIR YOUNG CHILD. 4. Having a great PR team.
Actually......her blunt facts and information, were quite refreshing. Some if us want info, data, facts of the event....I've had enough "condolences". In fact. grieving people, get fed-up of hearing about your "thoughts and prayers". It's tragic.... but sticking to the facts, in a clear, concise and timely manner is what most of us want to hear.
She came across to me as understanding the severity of the case. She was well spoken and serious. Gave the pertinent information about the apprehension of the animals. I did not see her being defensive or trying to be evasive. Jeesh. Be angry of the stupid owners.
Dont be so snarky. She was factual, serious, focused, professional. Would YOU FEEL better if she had been all emotional and crying? Maybeee give you the feelz? THEN, you would have found fault of a different kind.
Condolences to the family members friends classmates and colleagues of this precious child. Love hugs kisses and prayers in the name of Jesus Christ...amen ❤
That's a sad story, there is a leash law in this community. Dogs have to be contained in a fence. Dog tie outs are against the law because they can cause aggression. Last I read in the news a loose dog, the owner is fined $500.00 1st offense, $1000.00 2nd offense, $1,500.00 3rd offense but those figures are from about 10 years ago. Our animal care center is open 24/7, it never closes.
My condolences goes out to little boy family and this breaks my heart the dog owner needs to come forward im so damn sick of irresponsible dog owners if you don't secure your dog don't have one
Don’t matter if the dogs were "defending their property" or not. They killed somebody. They gotta go. I love my dogs but if they killed a kid, they’d be gone in a blink of an eye.
The dogs weren’t near their property to defend it. They were a distance from home and in the boy’s neighborhood. They defended nothing. They simply snapped and attacked.
i would never even want to take the chance. I would never own an animal that has an instinct to attack children if it ever got away. And i could never love something like that in the first place.
The neighbors in this neighborhood should be ashamed that they knew these dogs were running around loose and not one of them reported the dogs to animal control or police at any time. This according to the spokesperson. So the blame not only goes to the owners of the dogs but to every person who is a member of that neighborhood. Disgraceful people.
My heart goes out to Michaels' family, I just can't imagine the horror they're going through. My heart also goes out to all of emergency services that assisted his family; I hope you take care of yourselves to heal as well. All children should be safe in their neighborhood to ride their bikes, play with friends without fear from aggressive animals and monsters ... justice for Michael and his family.🙏🙏🙏
I own wolf hybrids and I know the liability of not keeping contained although they are sweet and loving I never let people around them or even touch them I have 3 layers of fencing and shockers to keep them in my yard when they are outside. To let big dogs like that run freely through the neighborhood is unacceptable and she should definitely be held accountable.

That is horrific. But you have to report them because many do kill people. Also AC needs to toughen up.
That is so messed up!im so sorry your family has went through this!!
I have volunteered for years in animal rescue and this is unfortunately very true. The dog owners blame us for their dogs being taken to the shelter as a stray and they have to come get them.
I hate when people start blaming the parents. Children should be allowed to go out and play safely in their own neighborhoods.
We can see what didn't work . Yes ?
Exactly
Parents still have a duty to protect their children. Other dangers exist aswell.
Every female ever: "I hate...blame"
Hmm not surprised one bit! Who is the property owner or landlord?
I have seen that happen many times in my neighborhood. Animal control comes out and nothing happens.
What kind of dogs?
@@flyrobin2544yes and then your neighbor harasses you for reporting. I've been there.

A dangerous criminal shouldn’t be allowed to own a vicious dog!!!
Poor baby. 😢. This is horrific. This is beyond evil.
People who have been arrested for drugs or violence, should NOT be allowed to own a vicious dog. Let alone two.
No one should own vicious dogs...duh! But I see people who can barely seem to handle the pitbull on a leash. It's so muscular.
NO animal!!!
“This is very rare”
What?! No- actually it’s becoming a weekly/monthly issue hearing about fatal dog attacks all over the country. Dog bites, attacks have never ever been considered “rare”.
Exactly! Where did she get her data from?
It's not rare at all. Maybe rare in that community but not rare nationwide. Either children get attacked, or they jump on elderly people out for a walk. You can't even leave your house anymore . I stopped going to my park because people were dumping fight dogs in the woods at my beautiful nature park. Let's all take a guess what breed the dogs are.
@lisab.1595 Pit Bull owners hate other types of dogs and have no regard for other Humans safety.
Yes the other day a families baby was killed by their pit bull
Wasn't an owner killed by his own dogs around Orlando just a couple of weeks ago??? It's NOT rare.
parents are now being held accountable if their child commits a crime same should be for pet owners. my heart breaks for this boy and his family.
Goodness gracious .. all those charges that woman had prior to this horrible event is unacceptable.
Right, AC is failing the public in many places
Just ridiculous get some balls government - So Sad for this little boy & family....
Because too many types that own these dogs are thugs and dont follow rules or laws...ever. Those dogs, the house was reported MANY times and this is the result

Charged this owner a murder!
Absolutely!
What a horrible way to die… none the less a child riding his bicycle with his friend🙏❤️🏆
It is not this little boys fault, but please take this as a sign to teach your children to never pet unknown dogs!
That woman shouldn't have been out of prison too own dogs
I can’t even watch this. Just want people to know how dangerous their sweet pets can be for others. Innocent children, the elderly. Does NOT matter how good they are with you. Heartbreaking. Beyond. Words.
They know they are dangerous and dont care if anyone else gets bit.
Makes them feel tough (what a joke).
@@AlaskaLPSYOU’RE WRONG🤷🏻♀️
@@AlaskaLPSyou are so clueless.
@@AlaskaLPSat the end of the day, they have an ANIMAL instinct, clear example of what happened to the boy, he went to pet them, and they killed him. Some dogs are just naturally aggressive even when they are NOT provoked.
I bet animal control has had numerous calls on the pitbulls roaming and harassing the public. Animal control should be held accountable, also.
No one called on these two dogs
The sheriff said nobody has called and reported these dogs. Neighbors should have reported dogs to prevent something like this.
@@FMT2003
They say they did!
Dog ownership needs to be regulated, ownership training and testing like DMV. Easy ownership of pets doesn't work anymore.
They are a huge public safety risk and it needs to stop.
Everyone is assuming these dogs were pitbulls; who said they were pitbulls?
Another report showed footage of the dogs being picked up after the attack & said they were pitbulls.@diyr791
Exactly I have worked with dogs for 30 years and never have had a sweet pit bull they are aggressive and dangerous
I have 2 very sweet rescue PitBulls, but I am very careful to keep them and other people and dogs protected. I don't believe in banning them, but they need boundaries and owners that know how to handle them. BTW, one was a Catahoula mix
@trustinjesus77 that's what I heard catahoulas are usually very good dogs
That's a pretty stupid statement.
It's the OWNERS
who have taken NO responsibility to socialize these animals or keep them confined.
Do dogs have more rights than humans? Btw this isn’t rare
Pretty much.
Extremely upsetting!!! Hearing the mom scream was heartbreaking
A daily occurrence nowadays! Unacceptable!

Yes. And Pitbull fanatics are blaming the mother! They have no shame or ability to reason about these dangerous animals.
They are virtually all pits, yes.
More than 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year, with over half of the victims being children. Children under the age of 9 are especially vulnerable to dog bites.
My prayers go out to the little boys family. Some owners are HORRIBLE and deserve prison!
Now is more important the vicious dogs than justice for the victim. The owners of these dogs have more rights than the victims. @ with such record , you still need her ok to take actions? Wow ..
I’m so sorry for his family’s loss. My Lord!
Maybe it’s time to start banning the ownership and breeding of dangerous dog breeds?
Homeowner insurance companies have clauses about this but most owners of these dogs rent, section 8 etc.
Its well past time to ban pits and their mixes.
Dont blame the breeds blame that drug addicts owner.
No because each dog is different
That would also mean German Shepards, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinchers, Cane Corso, Mastiff, Boxers.... should I go on???
I think the owners should go to prison.

The Pitbull fanatics are blaming the parents! It’s disgusting!

laws prevent putting the dogs down.
@Asidebar well that law is wrong. Its a human, a child. That family is mourning their 8 year old son. It's a disrespectful kick in the face, by all accounts.
So, the law is saying the owner has the right to run the show. Bullshit in Australia, the dog would be shot on the spot to prevent further harm. What if the dogs attacked others on their way. They have the taste of blood. I blame the owner & because of her uneducated ownership, two dogs also had their life destroyed.
This is so sad. Just speechless. Thoughts and prayers with the family. RIP.

After all her charges how is she still free?
Even if the gate was closed, the dogs could get out. It looked like a cattle gate.
The owner is responsible for his dogs and needs to be held accountable and you shouldn't need permission to put down dogs that killed someone

The owner of the dogs (Amanda Franco) is an absolute monster based on her police record. Heavenly Father why did it have to come to this? Her inner demons came out and killed an innocent child based on the choices she made listening to them.
Just heart wrenching. Can't believe it.
So horrible 😢 Prayers for this Mother and family! RIP sweet little boy so sorry 🙏🏻!
Growing up we rode our bikes everywhere. No one owned aggressive dogs. If their dog bit someone the owners themselves would put them down. People cared about their neighbors and there weren't predators. Poor kids. Cannot even do normal things
Iike ride their bikes.

Wow, this 13-yr-old spokesperson for Volusia Co. has obviously learned, from her YEARS of experience, how to address a community, grieving this tragedy of unknown suffering. Let's start
by: 1. Being Extremely DEFENSIVE (w/out provocation);
2. Praising yourselves for whatever action Was taken;

It was a pathetic news interview. Even the reporters questions were inappropriate!
Why was this person ever out of prison? This is 100 percent what a life sentence is for

That's a sad story, there is a leash law in this community. Dogs have to be contained in a fence. Dog tie outs are against the law because they can cause
aggression. Last I read in the news a loose dog, the owner is fined $500.00 1st offense, $1000.00 2nd offense,
$1,500.00 3rd offense but those figures
are from about 10 years ago. Our animal care center is open 24/7,
it never closes.
My condolences goes out to little boy family and this breaks my heart the dog owner needs to come forward im so damn sick of irresponsible dog owners if you don't secure your dog don't have one
If this had been just injurious, the dogs would end up in a shelter, put up for adoption, and labeled "energetic."
TRUE AND THAT SHOWS HOW EVIL DOG CULTURE IS, ALONG WITH THE DEVILS WHO JUST WON'T STOP PROMOTING IT.
Yes, you’re right!
She is misinformed. People had called in on these dogs and this owner for years.
