my camera accidentally turned on in its soft case and lens was stuck in open position. Totally worthless. I searched and searched and saw all the ridiculous "cures" then finally stumbled on ur video. It was EXACTLY what I needed. Worked like a charm in two minutes. THANK YOU for saving my Canon!!

I posted this on a whim just in case there was someone else out there with the same problem. So glad it was useful!

This is first time ever I am commenting on someone's video. I must say you make my day. I was checking all video's and open camera cables connectors and clean them and finally gave up and close it. Then I saw this video and it make sense to me and I tried and it worked. Thanks man, after 7 years it's still very very helpful.

Happening: I once opened a camera and instantly put it together.
    Cause: Capacitor.

This just worked like a charm on my son's ELPH 310HS. Incredibly helpful, and my son is glad to have his camera back in working condition. This type of video is what TH-cam was made for. Thanks much!

Took a while to get the meat and potatoes of this video BUT, this totally fixed my issue, thank you so much for documenting this! My camera has been sitting here lens out for two years now, and now after 10 minutes and this video it's fixed!

Thank you ! Had the exact same problem with my ELPH 100HS today - brought it home and did just as you showed. Now working fine. I'll see how much more time I might still get out of this old camera.

Hi. I have a Power Shot that was on a beach blanket out of its case and suffered some sand being kicked at it. Lens wouldn't come out and the iris lens protector wouldn't close completely. With lots of compressed air, I succeeded in getting the lens to extend and return, but the iris lens protector still won't close more than half way. Would removing the cover give me a chance to blow out the remaining dust? How do I remove the cover? Love your site, no camera shop will do repairs to these, they want to just sell you a new one. Thank you!

Thank you for this video, we have a Canon 110 elph and although the internals are slightly different, we were able to use your video to repair the stuck lense on the 110. The carriage on the 110 is round instead of retangular like the 100 but pushing it back and hearing a click fixed it! Great video! Thank you! ThePriceLife

January 2021 and this video still saved the day. Used this to fix one of my 100HS cameras 2 years ago. Now same thing happened with one that I use for work - pulled up your video again and solved the problem - thank you!

not the same as the SD800 powershot dangit! 1 minute to take cover off but no spring. I dropped my camera while turned on and lens only closes half way and it gives the 'lens problem' message and to restart.
