    Overheard in the review session after playing 500z:
    “He got me,” xeliqq said of Jarretman's A5s stackings of him. "That f***ing Jarretman boomed me."
    xeliqq added, “He’s so good,” repeating it four times.
    xeliqq then said he wanted to add Jarretman to the list of players he never 3bets preflop next session.

    hey boss; in one of your first videos i heard you say that you were coming over into the 500 zoom games from a mostly live game selection.. you said that the first bit of first studies you dove into for your live games. you mentioned key differences like finding yourself in many multiway spots, i guess the stack depth would be different, largely much deeper than 100bb id imagine. you said something specifically about studying the straddle aspect... well ill just come out and say that hearing you have a mostly live background combined with hearing your solid poker strategies (& more importantly seeing the execution) in this online games... well yea id just love to pick your brain a bit more... im a live pro as well; im far from gto (which i think is a function my player pool in central texas but id love to just hear some off the things youd deviate from in a live setting and what not and if that affects your balances and such, i mean i imagine youre never using a randomizer live and rather your using other live dynamics to sway you one way or the other) also id just love to hear about where and what kinda stakes the live games you played in canada/ compare them to what I assume is night and day differences between my games here in san Antonio, Austin, Houston. yea that one was a mistake; I underestimated how much overfolding bb gets to do on the flop even vs 1/4 rangebet (for example folding Qxs Kxs Axs with bdfd) so our range is actually nice and tight with very few bad hands in which case 98s is a slam dunk bet. good learning opportunity

    • @ghjk5827
      @ghjk5827 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rifsoneh Yes, it's a random number between 1 and 100. People have different ways to use it. Usually people choose to pick higher numbers to play the more agressive decision. For example: let's say you are in a spot where you have to check 25%, bet 1/3pot 50% and bet 3/4pot 25%. So, if RNG < 25 = check, if RNG is between 25 and 75 = bet 1/3pot, and if RNG > 75 = bet 3/4pot.

    Why you do want the Td in that 4bet hand where you donked the flop and folded? Seems counterintuitive since some of his bluffs contain Td

  • @bslay4r
    @bslay4r 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    6:43 - 42s wouldn't be better to x/r? Ax is in his range but not 2pairs and straights (usually), also donking on that A looks stupid :D
    10:19 - AQs wouldn't be better to bet 25-33% on turn? You have hands for value and for protection (flushes, sets, 2pair, TP) and you have offsuit bw combos/low pps as for bluffs.
    36:41 - A5s when you were thinking I was thinking what better hands do you have besides Jx, 9x and Ad5d doesn't block the 2 FDs on the board, you don't have T, 8, Q in your hand so it was a reasonable call in my mind but at my stake villain would show up here with JJ+ all the time. :D
    39:30 - A5s is pretty interesting in particular because against the raise villain won't fold better (unless he folds 88-QQ, doubtful) and won't call with worse unless it's a FD or SD. And you protect your 5 against some Qx, Jx, etc type of hands. You have 6 set combos so the bluffs should be enough with bd-FD combos and some lower FDs to fold out villains higher high card air. But your equity with this hand was very high against everything except AA and AK so I guess it's a good raise.

    Question about the hand at 19:15, is the equity we gain from the Td for the runner runner flush somehow "worth" more than unblocking his flush draws?

    • @209twitch
      @209twitch 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes because when he has you beat you have two outs and if he has a draw you’re close to flipping so overall your equity is quite poor. When you have a diamond you not only have some possible flush outs but you block a flush out if they are in fact drawing. This makes your overall equity for your hand much more favorable

    I don't get the AK CO 3-bet call from you. AK is always a 4-bet for value against BB, especially when you have information on how xeliqq is playing. Your range vs a BB-3bet is around 17% (230 hands) where 4bets for value always include AA, AKs, AKo, 10-10+, and 4-bet bluffs like 75s+, ATo, A2s+ (A5s might be a call or fold), but you are supposed to fold 73% of your hands in this spot, and he around 55%.
    His 3-bet bluffs absolutely kills this board: 32s, 42s, 52s, 63s, 73s, 84s, 85s, 76s, 65s, 64s, 53s, 43s, 32s. When calling, you are allwing him to realize his equity, and playing with a wider range against you. In the sim, you have roughly 57% equity against his range preflop, and on the flop it remains basically the same. On the river, its basically 50-50. What value do you think you can get by calling a 3-bet with AKo against BB in this case? He has most of the combos on this board, and when equities drives so close, you want to get initiative and 4-bet for value, and force villain to play with a capped range.

    In the A9 hand with As, you said you’re giving up river because you block a lot of his folding range with the As... so you’re saying blocking his Asx that has to fold by the river is more relevant than blocking the nut flush? Couldn’t the reverse he said that you can overbet sometimes with the nut flush blocker?

    • @samgolf99
      @samgolf99 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      be said *

    • @Demondoink1
      @Demondoink1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      no on the river you don't really wanna be bluffing with the As blocker because it's not even relevant blocking the nut flush as your opponent 1- didn't 3bet pre, which excludes all of the strongest Axs (such as AK/AQ/AJs) as well as some of the weaker wheel Axs that are gonna mix between 3bet/call. 2- he didn't check raise the flop, or raise the turn, which even further discounts his nut flushes to the point that they make up such a tiny fraction of his range, you are not concerned about blocking those value combos. you would prefer to unblock those folding combos (as that makes up many more combos than the nut flushes) and when you bluff a hand like say ATo with the Ts, that will actually block more value combos as he calls pre with more Txss, and plays them more passively post flop given the fact they are a much weaker FD.
      so in simple terms having the As blocks more folds than value from OOP.
      blocking a more medium K/Q/J/T high spade blocks more value and unblocks more folds. which is very good when you are selecting a bluffing combo.
