Had mine for nearly 16 years and wow what an amazing dog she was. Full of character, love, intelligence, heart are only a very few traits of hers. May she rest in peace in dog heaven. I love you so much Betty 💗 xxxx long live the parsons terrier!
My PRT just turned 8 and she is still as active as she was when she was 2. Full of energy. I take for 2 or 3 walks a day when the night comes she sleeps like a rock. Lovely dog!
My Jack, Zap is 12 years old and thinks hes 2, lol!! Hes been with me through cancer, breaking my back on the job, a bad divorce , depression, anxiety, and more............And hes been by my side through it!! I WILL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER EARTHLY FRIEND LIKE HIM!! Thanks Jesus for making this little man for me a friend!! I really dont know what I will do without him someday.......Im just cherishing the moments!!
Just read about Zap - you are lucky to have him! I'm hoping very soon to find me a Parson, I've wanted one for years. Sorry but just had to reply to your lovely story!
Russell terrier are Smallest but the bravest and intelligent breed ever produce... I got parsonrussellterrier she's only two months and she's so obedient loving and bravest puppy I ever had...
I'm allergic to most dogs but I have a Parsons and he doesn't give me allergies or asthma like most breeds. I was very lucky because I don't believe in buying dogs and was able to adopt him from a rescue. He can be very sweet but is fearless. He's incredibly alert and at 7 1/2 years old is as quick as he was when I adopted him at 8 months. He takes his job as the family protector very seriously and is not quick to trust strangers at all.
I’ve had my parson for 7 years and he’s a cracking little dog, feisty, full of character, affection ate and fun. If your an active sociable person who lives on your own this is the perfect dog for you, I wouldn’t be without my little mate 😊
My PRT who passed had a large personality that didn’t take any crap from others, loved to cuddle on her own terms, and was overall such a feisty, loyal and loving part of our family. five years and I still can’t say her name without crying. She was awesome around babies, and was quite the athlete. Yes, they are exuberant and high energy, and in their element in a country property.
Mine died 9 years ago from a tick. He was so full of go! Very rare breed - I only saw one today after all this time. They're soooooooooooo much more handsome than the squat "Jack" Russell.
I'm so sorry that you lost your dog like that. I have a Parson and it annoys me so much when people call him a Jack. I think they're better looking than Jack's too.
FYI: this video is fun and informative BUT a PRT is hand stripped and requires a groomer to tend their coat. it isnt just a simple brush job for a wire haired terrier such as the parsons!!!
Yes! I stopped taking my Parson to the groomers because they ruined him and started grooming him myself. I have seen videos of people who strip the coat and the dogs look beautiful. I live in NYC and I doubt that I could find someone who does it here though.
Mine too! Well, he's going very grey now with age. He's called Bertie and he absolutely loves everyone he meets! Friendliest dog ever. Terrible guard dog 😂. Bertie has never met another Parsie tho I'm sure Bonnie and Bertie would get on great
I thought it was a Jack Russell in Fraiser. Well can't really tell the difference between a Parson Russell and a Jack Russell anyways. They're basically same dog just one is bigger than the other apparently.
@@johnr4459 My JRT was a smooth coat with longer legs. The breeder sold it as a JRT. They come with smooth coat or wire hair. The JRT site states the taller ones are a Parsons Russell.
I finally found out my dog is a parson Russel terrier!! He’s a rescue and we’ve had him for 3 years!! He is an absolute angel
I have a Parsons rescue too. We both got lucky.
@@gerardinecizmar I have a rescue parsons his Nutts lovely with kids bigger dogs he try to box's there ears oh he is pure white

same with mine
My PRT is seventeen, blind, and some days, can barely walk. That doesn't stop him from his daily swim.

I know a Parsons Jack Russell and she's the absolute love of my life. She's a diva and spends most her time sleeping but she's worth it
Charlotte King mine too

Life is just better with Parson Russell... simple as that
My parson russel just turned 3 yesterday! He's an absolute sweetheart 💖 I find it funny how every long fur parson look pretty much exactly the same

Bell sound was a GOOD!!!! Choice
Please advice for a breeder in US
Cute. Do they yelp a lot? I know little dogs often bark way more than bigger dogs.
My Parson russel is only a year and a half so plenty of growing to do I would be lost without him
That bell is horrible. Who's idea was that lol.
Its Frasier and My dog skip. The same Parson Russell Terrier played the 2 roles. Eddie from Frasier was so cute
Schimanski likes this🐾
I love these dogs I will get one from Santa
A dog is for life not just for Christmas lol
What is the difference between a jack Russel terrier and a parson Russel terrier?
Parsons are often bigger and sometimes have longer hair.
Size. Smoothness of fur. Parsons are wiry.
Parson Russell is taller and cuter:)
Thanks to Reverend John Jack Russel
"Moose" was a Jack Russell.

I simply use a Mars coat king. Much less stressful on my pup than stripping
White fur? My Parsie is as black as they come! Her name is Bonnie and she loves to watch TV. She understands pretty much anything you say to her too!

The first dog you showed was a Jack Russell, not a Parson Russell. Poor choice of picture.
I think mine is a cross between parson and Jack
