Keep practicing what you love. You may have said "I will keep on practice this more, and I will try it again. Because I can't play some phrase on this number" but I've seen Schenker play some bad live performances and he would have been happy to play as well as you did on those nights. Michael improvises a lot so getting the notes exactly right isn't important - the feeling is the important thing. I really liked your rendition, even though it wasn't perfect because when Michael plays it, it's not the same as the record too.
Play for fun and play it for passion - your rendition was great. Turn up the amplifier and make it your own!
