Part of what I cut for time, was an explanation of the ordnance load I’m carrying. Bombs on the outboard pylons generally isn’t the best idea because it creates asymmetric lift/balance issues. But I did that on purpose to see if the wing flex animations they’ve adjusted were dynamic, showing more flex on the heavier side than the other. My findings are that, no, basically - weight and balance have no bearing on the wing flex animation.
Hopefully that's something that will get patched soon. I can't believe they'd release the new model otherwise capable of competing cosmetically with anything else released in the last 3 years without wing flex.
I just realized, that we might met ourself over Caucasus lately. ENE of Sochi, feet wet, 5nm from the coast. Your heading about 330deg. 3 cloud layers overcast low, broken medium few high. I dove down below medium layer with my wingman in 5nm trail, to intercept GCI reported F-5E. We crossed, and you turned aggressively behind my Mirage F1CE. My Gci confirmed that i'm 250kt faster, so I disengaged in left climbing 2G turn E above clouds. You didn't tried to follow. 10sec. Later my wingman reported "tally" on f-5 and I saw him below medium cloud layer between clouds. I dove back down below medium layer "I cover you"- reassured my wingman. You crossed with him in the same moment as i dove back below medium layer. I found you 90deg to me full aspect in climb to medium layer. After 7G right turn on active "High lift" I got sound from my 9B. I remember checking your name afterwards. You had high SA and intuition. Guy name was "Bullet" Any chance It was you? =Crow=Kermit

Overall i am pleased that the F-5 did get updated, i never thought it would lol. Excited too see what comes next, hopefully with a little less controversy :)
the buffet noise and that new whisteling noise of the engine sounds pretty damn good, the textures look good, but no wing flex or barely any new loadout options in a bit lame, they could have atleast added the aim9L
@@agidotexe7167 There is some wing flex that’s veeerry similar to how it looks on the Viper - there’s a really notable bend at the tips. The pilot model also gets pushed up and down with positive and negative G, it’s just that the weapon load doesn’t change the animation, it isn’t dynamic with weight changes.

Once again, allow me to praise you for your superb energy management, possibly - quite possibly - the best in DCS in all of DCS. I say this not from watching you only fly the F-5 or the MIG-19, but also the F-4, F1 and all jets you fly. Matters not what you fly, your superb energy management in consistently there. Now; We Don't Know What We Don't Know... a bit of foreshadowing. Having said this, your 2 engagements with the MIG-21s were each TEXTBOOK examples or displays of this energy management and the results are hard facts via "smokin' holes" in the ground. Now I bring in my phrase, We Don't Know What We Don't Know, in the context of a teaching/learning too: TOP GUN. I could see how the 2 engagements could be taught at TOP GUN. Why wouldn't they be? Who says the fine peoples at TOP GUN or other fighter weapons schools don't pool from TH-cam DCS videos???? Yeah? DCS is "as real as it gets" and all the parameters/data/angles/speeds/fuel weights/thrust to weight ratios/altitude, etc... are all there to piece together and demonstrate what to and what not to do. I mean... after the second MIG Kill at the end of the 2nd engagement... you pulled out of your dive on the deck ready to extend with 450 knots! 450 knots gives you OPTIONS. If that ain't a level of either applied or chance perfection, fit for teaching "the basics", then I sure as heck don't know what constitutes BFM/ACM material for consumption. I'll sign off with this; Colonel Boyd if still alive, would be proud to call you his finest student. Keep up the tremendous work. Cheers!
What AA settings do you use? I use clean MSAA x4 and I'm seeing a lot more edge shimmering in the cockpit. Do you use head bobbing (G head movement) while using TrackIR?
@@Tome4kkkk I have it set to 16x rather than the default 4x I think I do have the G setting on because it tries to partially level my head through rolls.
@ Maybe I’m thinking of the wrong setting then, but something is definitely set to 16x - it’s one of the drop downs on the lower right portion of the graphic options. (Edit: Anisotropic filtering is what I’m thinking of I think) I’m bad at computer stuff, been a console peasant most of my life. If you mean like TAA/FSR/DLSS, or whatever all those acronyms are - I have it on DLSS and set to Quality.
@Bullet4MyEnemy Ah, that answers it, thanks. The artificial-inteligence-smear anti-aliasing techniques (TAA, DLA, DLSS) are (or were) pretty bad for spotting as I tested DLSS-quality some months ago flying Dora. Maybe I should give DLSS another try. Or try DLA. What I find problematic is that I didn't get edge shimmering with the old picture-perfect cockpit with the fix mod.
@@Tome4kkkk Upscaling and TAA will still ruin visibility. It's somewhat mitigated if you have enhanced spotting dots enabled, but I don't know if those are typically allowed in multiplayer. (They should be IMO.) I've uploaded a mission on the DCS user files called "DCS World Spotting Test" to help test how your graphics impact your visibility. Note: you must test with the game unpaused.

@@NuttyGore2039 Not officially with a fee or anything, but you’re welcome to join the discord and jump in comms/fly with us and learn as you go, there are quite a few people in a similar position to yourself. I still find using proper radio etiquette daunting but most PvP servers are pretty lax on stuff like that and the consequences of team killing are more an inconvenience than anything truly damaging. The best way to improve is honestly just through trial and error, check the auto update EWR reports are on using the comms menu in the top right, base engagements around that - if the thing you’re shooting at was found using EWR calls then you’ve got a fairly high probability of the thing being hostile, it’s very hard to purely locate targets by eye without knowing where to look. If you hit @ or maybe “ in the US on your keyboard it’ll bring up the scoreboard, not for the scores, but to check what your team are flying vs the enemy so you can visually ID hostile from friendly before pulling the trigger.

Absolutely textbook sortie, those Fishbeds just got a lesson in energy management (assuming they were taking notes)

The textures are clearly much better though, the canopy makes squinting after dots a lot easier
