Traxxas TRX4 Climb and Trail Test Course

- Testing out the TRX-4 on the same course as the UPS truck was. Since the TRX is heavier and doesnt have the battery mounted on the front like the SCX10 had, making the front harder to grab. So in conclusion, because the TRX4 doesnt have the battery mounted on the front its not as good crawling as if it DID have the battery mounted in the front, i think that modification will be next, to figure out how to mount the battery more towards the front.

Those locking differentials make such a huge difference. Endless frustration watching Tamiya Bruiser videos where those things get stuck on a mild trail.

That's a clean wheel and tire choice my friend!!! I think im going to pull out my old iroks and clean them up. Are those SSD wheels? Im ordering some 2.2 gear head CAC ez-loc beadlocks with derlin center on 2.2 rc4wd Mickey Thompson baja mtz for the Bronco. I really do like your wheel and tire setup on yours! Good drivin too! I love the trx4!!!

Before u do any mods on the battery mount... try putting weights on the two front wheel and use a star cut foam insert, first... just my two cents cos i've ever watch a video of it and the trx4 is as good as the scx10ii.

So what you're saying is, you would like to mount the battery in the front, because it's better, than not having the battery mounted in the front. XD lol
All jokes aside, try counter weights up front before moving the batt. Just my opinion, but Traxxas' R&D did a very good job on this one and I think their current weight distribution is great. BTW Nice vid!

Lol , I was actually thinking instead if moving battery, find something else to mount under front hood to add weight to the front but keep battery in same spot. The truck is heavy enough tho, the metal beadlock wheels actually added some weight so it does better than those stock plastic ones
RC4x4Studio I used lead weights on mine. You can find them at your local hobby shop in the Pinecar derby section. They are cut in small pieces so you can used as little or as many that you see fit.

I added lead weights to my Gear Head Vegas beadlock wheels 4 oz on the front and 2 oz on the rears. I got a set of RC4WD Raceline Monster beadlock wheels and after getting them all together with weights (only 3.5 oz on the front) and tires I found I couldn't use them because the inside of the wheels dragged on the portal axles. What a big disappointment. So if you have a TRX your somewhat limited with beadlock wheel selection especially with RC4WD 1.9 beadlock wheels and the back inside diameter is never given in the wheel specs.
you can always make something work. sounds like a dremmel could solve that problem
I might try that. In the mean time I got a set of 1.9 SSD Steel Trail beadlock wheels with the SSD Scale Front Locking Hubs (yellow) and the rear hubs too. I also put lead weights on them, 3.5 oz on the front, 2 oz on the rear. The scale hubs makes them stand out and look better.
