The acting and chemistry between Alfie who plays Arthur and the guy who plays Marshall who I can't remember his name at the moment is off the charts and more than we were ever allowed to see between Ben and Aaron in the past more than a year. I would also say between more than most romances on the show including the other gay couples. Not bad for not much.
This storyline may seem cloying and preachy to LGBTQ+ community members and allies but clearly, judging by the number of bigoted comments below, we still have a long way to go before achieving LGBTQ+ equality and freedom from discrimination.

I mean my existence used to be illegal in the UK amd is still illegal in several countries all around the world today. You have the privilege of being able to book a holiday amywhere in the world and it being safe for you and your partner. If I am booking a holiday I have to do a whole load of research to see if me even being there will get me either arrested or killed. I mean conversion therapy is still legal and should be totally eradicated, somone can legally deny me medical care, service, housing just for being lesbian. When I was growing up on TV i could probably count the gay characters I know of on one hand let alone there being TV shows with gay lead characters who are front and centre of their own movies and TV shows.
