i love people following their dreams. No matter when
He did not fallow his dreams of riding dirt bikes he was in the marine core for 20 years dumbass, His dream was to be a marine
That's a rare gem, always wanted a 2005 KX or RM 250
If they just kept making these bikes and didn't change anything, like Yamaha is doing, they would still sell a ton.
No jrqgw
niiiiceeeeeeee😎
James Stewart would be greatest of all time if everyone still rode 2 strokes. U definitely had to work harder when riding one and he would absolutely FLY!
Yes, but the government told them to stop selling them because of the “smoke and fumes hurting the environment” but I have a 05 kx250 it is AMAZING!!
Thank you for your service. I'm glad two-strokes are coming back. The four-stroke economic model is unsustainable. I'll never buy one again. TC250 in my garage!
Still have my 01 kx with all the pro circuit goodies of the period. I've bought a crf and a yzf both in 450 flavor, wonderful bikes but it's hard to beat an old 2 stroke. Especially with mitchs setup.
Nothing like the smell of 927 in the morning.
Wow..never seen Keefer so pumped..
A 2-stroke would make anyone happy. Unless you are on a 450 being passed by a bike that cost $2,000 less and can be rebuilt for $250 in an hour.
I'm chuffed for this guy, I was never alloud to ride when I was a kid and it's all I wanted. Turn of the news, go out and ride your bike!
I bet in the next ten years almost every brand is gonna bring back their two smokers , that would be the best day of my life if i heard that leak
Man that KX sounds incredible and to the owner of this bike thank you for your service sir! Enjoy that KX!
Picking ones of these bikes up tomoz..... WOW, I'm the happy guy right now
Just think if they had all the r&d in the engine/ chassis/suspension that the 4 strokes have now. They would be unreal.
KTM continued development and are still committed to 2 strokes
just look at the ktm 300sx
@@dumbdumb572 this is truee
Hell yeah, ive had mx Kx250 06 from brand new and still riding it hard today. There almost indestructible, keep the filter clean, change piston and rings and keep on pounding away.
Beautiful bike and Chris thank you for your service! God bless you and your bike is awesome! Best video yet with Keefer, maybe?
Thanks for the garage build sic build sic story, also thanks Keef for a non scripted natural interview so good having a non commercial unforced to and fro discussion on the bike and hearing ya thoughts, props also for giving us the full parts build in the description appreciate too!
2ts for life 🤙🔥
I love that graphics kit
Wow what A nice bike
Kx 250 is my dream bike and this thing looks so good!
ICW & Tom Morgan do great work.
Nice job on the build! Looks amazing. And yes, the two strokes are fun to ride !
Thank you for your service
What a great story. ✊
thats true man about being grumpy if you cant or havent riden in a while. I also had to fund my own bikes as a teenager. A few years later My speed level was a top intermediate (Canada) to slower pro but by the time I got a fulltime job and could afford a brand new bike ,truck, tools and the equipment to race seriously I had been weight lifting like a body builder extremely hard for a couple years "just to look bad ass or tough or something lol" and and it caused brutal arm pump so I got out of racing, I didn't figure out the cause of the arm pump till later thought. I did well in some novice 125 races on clapped out bikes when i was 18 but when i got my first 250 it was a 98 kx 250, racetech suspension, boysen porting (which i never seen before), rad vavle, pipe and silencer. Thing was a ripper it seemed like it made maximum torque right off the idle and would run through the gears as fast as you could shift em. Them low end kawi 250 motors had a knarly sound to them. They were very stable and confidence inspiring, They loved high speed tracks and high speed corners. They liked to be turned with the throttle and rear wheel but they didn't suddenly slide out like other bikes. bridgestone intermediated tires were good for this. Later bought a brand new 01 CR 250, it as a rocket ship and a actually a little faster the the KX. It took a while to get used to it, the top end motor, stiff chassis and stiffer suspension required a real expert rider. I was damn fast on this bike but after 2 laps I couldn't pull in the clutch anymore or hang on to the bars. , called it quits Then got into mma for about 7 years. I lost 55 pounds of muscle to get down to 155 class. If i would have did that for moto i could have lived my dream of battling for wins or even an amateur title. Finally some weird auto immune conditions, arthritis and extremely weak tendons forced my out of that all sport sports and then i started loosing jobs, my house etc. Sorry for rambling, my sleeping pills are starting to kick in lol. its therapy for me be to reminisce and relive my riding days in my head, Awesome build Chris and thanks for your service.
Nothing more clickable than a kx250!
It must have been real good if keefer liked it haha 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Good stuff
I wish the Japanese manufactures would listen to their customers and realise that the 2-stroke still belongs in its own niche and co-exist with the 4-stroke market. They'd out sell the 4s in this current climate.
I wish all manufactures would make the 125 and 250's still.
Life long member of the beginner vet class. 🤣🤣 you and me both
keefer is da man.
Peep medium boy 5:24
Sweet bike. A litlle overboard with the green, but still cool.
How did he get the kx 450 radiator shrouds to fit on the old 05 250 2 stroke?
Did he just swap the gas tank n shrouds right over and they fit in the 2 stroke frame?
Cuz i have an 03 kx 250 and that first era kx 450 plastics wont bolt up to the gas tank thats oem for the 03 250
"clean one owner"
One of these in my area for $2500. Should I pick it up??
Too expensive, in my area they go from 1000-1500$ in very good condition
i wonder if anybody have done the transmission mod like the yz250 making thmw wide ratios for the woods. anybody?
This things for sale on marketplace
I thought the handling on the 2005 was atrocious. Is MXA telling stories to us again?
Works great with 22mm triple clamps. The stock suspension valving is pretty terrible too.
It really is pretty awful
I have an 06 which is the same bike. No MXA is not telling stories. Get that bike out of the ruts and on some hardpack and he wouldnt be liking that bike. Front end pushes and then tucks. Ive gone to pretty good lengths to get my bike to handle decent. Switched to 2012 kx250f SFF forks. 22mm offset triple clamps. Longer pull rods to lower rear end. Oh yeah. I also cut the steering head off and had decreased the steering head angle from 26 to 26.5. which puts more trail in the front suspension geometry and makes the front wheel more planted.... Engine is stock. Someday Ill get a 300 kit on it.
Nobody had a problem with the 26 degree head angle and 22mm offset when Kawasaki used it from the 90's through 2002. I can't believe people cut their frames up because of what a magazine says.
@@TurbodanNM it wasnt based on what a magazine said. It's based on math. In 05 they decreased the head angle one deg and changed nothing else. I've also heard from good sources that james Stewart ran offset steering head bearings to slacken his head angle. Per ama rules you cant change the frame geometry from how it was made. I did the same as factory kawasaki did but I dont have to adhere to ama rules. Just a vet racer
Those shrouds do not make that bike look better. Thats like the worst generation of 450 to take the shrouds off and the original ones make that generation one of the prettiest bikes of the era.
Sold my kx250 for a real bike. CR500.
