      @@mikenoneofyourbusiness7122 Hi Mike, once again, I have seen many negative comments towards other people following the channel for no apparent reason. I have responded before that there are still plenty of people buying original artworks today (we sell ca.40-50 pieces with the gallery, and I sell personally as an artist approximately 20-25 pieces per year). As a result, I would appreciate it if you would stop being rude to people in the comments saying that art can only be a hobby and that there is no future in art. If not, I am afraid I will have to hide comments from your channel on our videos. I appreciate your understanding.

    Hello and thank you very much for these valuable tips. I wondered how to justify a void on a CV... I started painting from 22 to 27 years old then I stopped to devote myself to my job. During the confinement of covid 19 I was able to resume my painting. So in fact I have been painting for less than three years... How to notify this vacant time? I exhibited between 2002/2007 then back in 2022 for exhibitions... Thanks in advance and the best to you 🙏 Lucy Einna

      Hi Lucy, thank you for tuning in and for a great question tackling a very common issue. I wouldn't be to worried about justifying it. It is simply your story, your life, and journey as an artist. On your resume you should share the facts as they are without having to worry about it or make some changes to your resume to justify or hide this gap. It will not harm your chances for success today. Hope this might help and wishing you all the best!

    For years now I have shunned pursuing shows or any other outlet. I just work and have done so for so long I’m out of the game, so to speak. My unique situation has me able to simply work. It gets addictive . Just me and my work. My legacy who cares I died once and was brought back to life after bleeding out- blood pressure drops and you go. There is something else and it doesn’t care about all this earthly stuff we care about. But when your in this place here you got to play the game. Respect if you lack money gives you wiggle room keeps the punks off you back side. Any way I need CAI to get back in, time to come in from the cold. The other thing I’m seeing is I have to tweak the work toward high end esthetic. Always something huh. Jeez! So all of this is why I’m here and all this then helpful. If I can pull it off🤪

    What is your take on digital art? It seems like digital artists are not getting the same respect in the art world. I hope one day you can also have a vlog about the digital art world.

    • @cliffdariff74
      @cliffdariff74 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Let's face it, we are looking at digital media all day long, 24/7 on our cell phones... thus confronting real life materiality directly in front of us is hugely seductive.
      Digital art is very limited as a final product compared to tactile materials or in fact, accidental occurrences between real life materials, which can't be reproduced digitally (other than making it `look like` something). In the end it's just a video screen or print out.. The virtual world is a cartoon, whereas real life is more like film. One might say the hand of the artist exhibits more "truth" comparing the same circumstance or content.
      The art world reflects the marketplace and artist alike, so it depends on your brand, and a collectors` desire to get the respect needed to match up to real life media (traditional materials). Good luck 😊

      Artists get the same respect as digital artists. Check all levels of each.

    • @contemporaryartissue
      @contemporaryartissue  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Marjorie, thank you for tuning in and thank you for your question. Digital art is indeed a topic for a future video. I believe Cliff DaRiff made some great points when it comes to your statement/question if digital artists are getting the same respect in the art world. I would say respect, yes. Success; sometimes. As Cliff mentioned, the absence of a physical piece is crucial. Today we are being bombarded by a flood of two-dimensional images. Physical art, such as painting, drawing, and collage (sticking to the two-dimensional art forms) is a privileged medium to slow us down and call a halt to an image. We approach and experience it differently. It has a physical presence and a metaphysical weight in the matter, leaving a tangible trace of a human being. NFTs can give an artwork collectible scarcity, which is a tremendous step forward to valuing digital art. But when it comes to the experience of art, this digital scarcity of ownership does not change our experience of it. Even as a painter, art is not about creating images but about creating collectible objects with their own aura and energy. Even with conceptual art-where the artwork is the idea and not the object-they require an object to transmit this idea so the viewer can experience it. I have great respect for digital artists and admire the work of several artists strongly. But without the physical object and experiencing it in the flesh, I seem to hit an unwanted ceiling in my judgment. And as a result, my favorite artwork will never be a digital artwork. But this is of course just my personal opinion.
