I think the thing I like about these the most is that you create them with just simple household objects. There’s no need for any fancy tool, just fine colored sand and the stuff you can find in your kitchen junk drawer.

I’ve had the privilege of watching the Dali Lama and his monks build giant Sand Mandalas, they often take weeks to complete, and then they sweep them up into a pile of multicolored sand. The process of building the Mandala is meditative. It’s quite beautiful. But I would certainly not have the patience for something like this 🤪
