    Just wow, that is an absolute stunner. Those hands, the dial and indices, beautiful. Would be a shame to let that one go, but I understand why you are considering it. Fantastic job with the review, I'm sure you'll advance really quick with this quality.

      Cheers! Thanks so much for the support! Actually your channel was one of those that gave me the courage to start my own.
      Unfortunately, the watch just isn't the right size. It is a shame.

    Great review of a great looking watch. Honesty is the best policy when it comes to reviews and you nailed it.

    Great review, subscribed! I have the ssa305 (black dial) version. You have nailed all of the downsides including the small date, lack of micro adjustment and chunkiness. You were unlucky with the quality control of the bracelet though. However both versions are stunning. I’ve had mine for four years and see it as a GADA. It has been worn everywhere from the scorching hot beaches of Thailand to formal dinner parties in the UK. It is very unique and even seasoned watch connoisseurs have to ask what it is. It regularly gets complimented, and I often catch people staring at it on my wrist.

      @timescribe1607  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a very nice watch indeed. And I think if I had a bit of a chunkier wrist I might have kept it. But in the end I just couldn't hold on to it. As much as I loved to look at it, I just didn't wear it enough. But I'm glad that you seem to really enjoy wearing yours. The black looks awesome too!

    Great review and amazing watch. I love these presage watches. Especially when on a bracelet. Always make me think of the more expensive Grand Seikos.

      Yeah, they are beautiful watches. The design formula from Grand Seiko definitely trickles down to Seiko. Or does it trickle up? 🤔

    4 years back I went to a watch showroom to buy Seiko Presage SSA343J1, but ended up buying this watch. No regrets..... just love this watch so much. The combination of the dial and the blue hands just looks so good. Seiko makes some of the best watches in this price range.

    I have the Midnight mockingbird version of this watch and besides being a little thick it is perfect. With respect any serious complaints really are nit picking. Your wrist appears to small to wear a watch of this size.

  • @LaberintoAzul
    @LaberintoAzul 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Love this watch, got it for 200 a while ago. Is thick and no lume , but. The incredible finish on the blue sword hands, clean dial and extra metal compensate it.
    Is like driving an old heavy metal car , awkward; yes. But , unique.

      Thanks for the comment, Labertino! And your comment makes perfect sense, I certainly can't argue with that! Imgonna try and get the bit of dirt off of my one's dial. Then hopefully I wear it more often. Enjoy your watch!

    Good review! I purchased this watch and it had a green face. My wrist is 7.25 inches in diameter and it fits me perfectly. I also love the power reserve complication and the date sub dial on this very nice watch.

    I have a similar Seiko Presage SSA395J1. Compared to the SSA303J1, its dial is slightly different, with unobtrusive pure white design. The power reserve indicator and date dial are deliberately understated with less markings. This is what made me choose the 395 over the 303. I like its unassuming elegance. The crystal is double curved sapphire glass. Overall it's beautiful to look at.

    I love the review, or rather 'your journey', I love the watch too. Unfortunately, I to have a slender wrist and because of this would find the watch too chunky. Wish I have thicker wrists.

      Oh, it's not exactly the same, but it does have the same movement. It is very cool. I think the styling on that one makes it feel a little less sporty

    Like to watch the video. I think the watch is a great one but yes, it is obviously too big for you. But if you like a watch you can wear a too big one anyways! My biggest one was a Seiko diver, don’t remember the exact model, but it was too top- heavy.
    I was young and back then I liked it! - Cheers

    • @timescribe1607
      @timescribe1607  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment! But yes, that's what I think. I liked it and wore it for a long time despite not being totally happy with the size. But now with more comfortable watches in my collection, I find myself not wearing this one at all. It's a shame really. But that's how it goes, right?

  • @fakhirtalib

    You’re just not living up to the expectation of the watch. I got the same gold one. And this one as dress watches. My divers are Longines. Hydro conquest gold black ceramic. And a steel black ceramic. That’s office and weekends for me.
    It’s a lovely watch to own brother. Do not sell it. Keep it and one day your kids might. Have it.

    I have trouble to remember the model number of this Seiko watch, it sounds like a part number without a soul, I look at it like a screw and soon forget what is it, no, no interest to buy it.

    • @timescribe1607
      @timescribe1607  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I do admit that Seiko are really uninspiring with their watch names. The thing is there is just too much variety to name all the watches. But I do agree with you that it lacks that soul

  • @111111111Tiger
    @111111111Tiger 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Seiko and their stamped clasp. This alone keeps me from buying them. You automatically need to spend another 100 buck to put a decent band / clasp on their entry level watches. They rip people off and people keep on buying them.

    • @timescribe1607
      @timescribe1607  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, I do like a more firm clasp, but I don't see the need to have it. The clasps on my Seikos have always felt very secure. Even so, you can find a decent enough replacement clasp for about 5 bucks. That usually does the job pretty nicely
