FAQ's - (I'll add to this if necessary) Is this beginner-friendly? No. Like most of my vids, this is aimed at people who have played the game already. You need a relatively good knowledge of boss movesets for this run. That being said, the balls are so powerful that you can bully a lot of bosses around, even if you don't. Any way to make it a bit easier for those less experienced? Yes, many. Treat this run as a template and season to taste. An obvious way of making things easier would be ditching the Blue Dancer Charm and wearing the samurai armour for the whole run. Swapping out the Ritual Sword for the Ritual Shield would work wonders with this approach also. Level more Vigor and less Strength than I did (you can stunlock bosses with the balls at RL1, so you're not gonna miss those levels as much as you think). Finally, you could just follow my standard set-up guide and start off with +16's. You'll add 30-45 mins onto the run but you'll be way stronger from the start. You can use the Bully Everything 2.0 video as a guide for this, just grab the balls instead of the star fists. Could this be done faster? Yeah, a lot faster. For actual Speedruns, Bloodhound's Fang and Serpent Hunter are both faster weapons than the balls. The reason I chose the balls is that they are (apart from the range being a bit of an issue on Maliketh) a lot easier to use and require less specific strats. So while it's slower, it is more forgiving. This route could probably be done in close to 1:30-1:25 if everything went perfectly. By an actual speedrunner, even less. If you used the same routing as the speedrunners, the balls could probably get closer to an hour on a perfect run. Will you make a full guide of the Early DLC route? Very likely, but it's too early to assume it will be of any use. For a while after release, I'll be focused on Shadow of the Erdtree itself rather than getting back to the base game with new weapons. When the time comes, I'll revisit this run and see if it is the way forward for early DLC playthroughs. What's with the blocking between charged R2's instead of just doing the combo? Muscle memory. There was a time where I thought it was faster than doing the combo (it's not, just do the combo!) and it's never left my fingers. Is Gideon the worst boss of all time? Yes!
Killing Radahn has got to do with the stars and the eclipse. Radahn holds the stars in place so an eclipse will never happen when he is alive. Miquella needs an eclipse for unknown reasons.
I might be wrong, but the eclipse is associated with rebirth, and there’s a spirit in castle sol that said it was to revive miquellas comrade (presumably godwyn)
While Miquella does need the eclipse, its also the fact that the stars hold the concept of fate. Everyones fate is written in the stars so just like Ranni, Miquella needs to stars so he can achieve his goals
There's a ghost/spirit dude thing in Castle Sol that implies that the eclipse is somehow going to be used by Miquella to cleanse Godwyn's deathblight and restore his soul or something, but maybe that's also Miquella's plan to get back from the land of shadows? Idk
5:06 - You can get another Somber 7 by defeating Radahn and following the Ranni questline. There are a couple of Somber 7 in Nokstella. It really doesn't take much effort to get there if you beat Radahn anyways
@@FishCowand grab mohg’s shackle! its definitely worth going there after godrick+radahn, as well as getting the crimson tear to block mohg’s transition.
Exactly what I do and on the way I get the mimic to +10 cos I am old and need the mimic to beat the game. I never kill the crab guy cos I buy 200 crabs off of him before I go to the capital.
Great guide! As for me, I tried speedrunning Elden Ring once. Then I thought, but I don't have all the talismans, or all the weapons, or all the armour sets, or all the spirit summons, or all the cookbooks, or all the bell bearings, or all the other things that are mostly going to sit in storage for the rest of the playthrough, untouched. The need to have all the things, every time, is woven into my very being. So, my "speedrun" probably clocked in at around 70 hours or so. And I loved every second of it. On the day the DLC trailer dropped, I deleted all my saves and started a new character. Now I've got a pure faith Elden Lord, a strength/int on honeymoon with Ranni, and have just started an arcane/faith lord of frenzied flame to be. Hopefully have her finished just about in time for Dragon's Dogma 2!
I had this problem ever since i played the original demon's souls. The secret is to make a single (one (1)) character where you fully explore the game and collect every single item. Then, before you decide to make a new run, you plan the build in a build calculator, try out the things you want to use on your first character (especially the armor look), make a short checklist, and only then you start the new playthrough, ignoring everything you don't need.
One thing that might help people with exprience is the smithing stone drops from the 3 Falling Star Beasts, 10 smithing 6 (Altus and Gelmir) and 5 smithing stone 7s from the one in Sellia Crystal Tunnel. That with the 2 smithing stone 7s on top of the giant skull near the spirit spring from Faroth to Church of the Plague can upgrade your normal weapons to +20. Also atleast for my 1st SoTE playthrough, I am gonna go for a less optimized spread out build. RL150 Quality Faith (35 Str, 35 Dex and 45 Faith) to allow me to try out more weapons in the DLC. Great Video btw.
Second channel: www.youtube.com/@morefishygaming Deliberately left some of the deaths and mishaps out of this video, so you'll get some chuckles while following along. (Edit: The full run is taking an age to process but it should be up soon)
Guess im gonna do another run 😅 I've currently got two characters ready for the dlc thanks to your videos. One is the recent op dex/faith build you did, and the other is an older faith/strength build with the golden halberd and blasphemous blade. I can't wait for the dlc videos.
Me neither! Yeah they're both really fun builds. The STR/FTH one was my first playthrough build. Glad you're having fun with them. Thanks for watching!
One tip that might speed up the varre quest and you dont have to commit murder. If you go to the four belfries near varre, you can go back to the chapel of anticipation and soak the favor in the dead maiden from the beginning.
@ThingfishyGaming yeah it's going pretty good. Although my skills are far less than yours and I've gone mostly faith. Found a wall in fire giant so farmed the bubble wand from leyndell and am preparing to doot him to death. The Membership is definitely deserved, your content is consistently top notch and supporting it seems right.
When Thingfishy refers to anything as possibly doable without godly skills, I shudder. He is the very definition of godly skills. And I....I went back to Elden Ring for the first time in months, and found I do not even remember how to use my spells and weapons 😞
He talks about easiest parries in the game... 3 hours later I accidentally managed my first parry in said "easy fight" when throwing my controller at the wall, and L2 connected first.. 😅
Thingfishy You rock! I did +10 mimic/Morning Star +12 with Sacred Blade/Great Star +16 with Prayerful Strike/Partisan +16 with Spectral Lance/Icon Shield. Ran in level 1 and picked up Arsenal Charm +1, and the Pearldrake +1. Surprisingly the Pearldarke took less tries. Greatshield and Axe Talisman were the only other ones I used for full build. Straight up to Ranni... kill Radahn, using the summons and a lot of running, Then all the underground to get my Mimic to +10. Farmed the +5 with the Great Star. Picked up the crystals while doing it, amazingly fast BTW. So had crystal daggers as well. Done. Made it to Fire Giant in 6 hours. And still stuck on the Elden beast, but Mogh and the other essentials are all toast. Redoing the run again today. I'm old so I need the mimic to compete but still hell fun. One day I will get the Elden beast had it within 1 cm, only to die a lot of times.
Iron Ball and Cragblade (later Star Fist and Cragblade) got me my fastest run of Elden Ring at 5 hrs 24 mins. The fact you can do it in one-fifth of the time shows to me how incredibly busted Cragblade is on fist weapons. Great video as always!
While watching this, I’m doing yet another Bloodborne run which involves killing a certain blindfolded deer monster to get to the DLC asap. Knowing that the reward for this endeavor involves early access to the besthunter saif, a disembodied alien arm, and everyone’s beloved pizza cutter, I’m reminded of all the exciting toys this upcoming dlc will likely give us and how worth it the grind will probably be. Thanks for this!
Early DLC Bloodborne runs are so much fun. I just wish you could get the Bloodletter earlier. One of my favourites. GL on the run, G. Thanks for watching!
Just keep in mind this run locks you out of ever getting 1) Shard of Alexander 2) Gravel Stone Talisman 3) Bolt of Granssax (and other capital items). I'm sure there are others but these are a few I was upset I couldn't get after completing.
small thing Id like to add, you can get another weapon to +7 and higher if you grab the somber in the sewers, there are 2 +7 sombers down there, one on a pipe, the other one has a scarab. Other than that, Great video Fishy
doing this build right now and had zero faith that ill be able to pull these fights up but damn the big balls are doing work ( kekw ) literally never had this little trouble with the sentinel before lyndel
@@ThingfishyGaming I'm thinking that I could use the general routing and take the time to bulk things out a tad. Itd be a heck of a lot more forgiving with Flame Grant Me Strength AND the added vigor.
Without even watching I know fairly well you can get to Mohg fast and only need to put down one shardbearer (preferably Godrick as he is quick & easy to get to) and then grab the two dectus medallions to get to Altus to trigger the festival. Then, from the portal near one of the churces you can get to caelid and take the spirit spring to get through Seiiia and from there it is a straight shot to Radahn. Then, you can complete Varre's quest and after you can get to Mohg. Now fighting Mohg at such a low level is not recommended there is a cheese (though I expect them to patch it) that can cause Mohg to fall through the map for an easy win. This is how I would do it with my 1600 hours in this game and would agree that reduvia would be my weapon of choice.
12:09 Alternate route that's a slight time loss but probably more safe: if you go south south-west from the Church of Plague, you can jump from the cliffs onto the roof of one of Selia's towers, then drop to the floor below that, then onto the ground and out the gates to the east. This is also very convenient for when you're doing Millicent's questline and you're running between her and Gowry.
Your videos have gotten me back in to Elden Ring following the hype of the DLC trailer. I do have to remind myself I'm not as good as you though when I get stuck on some of the bosses. I've played all the souls games but Elden Ring is the only one that I feel like I hit walls with.
Really glad you like the videos, Tyler. Yeah, Elden Ring certainly feels very different to the others. Took me a while to adjust to it at first, coming from DS3 and Bloodborne mainly. But once it clicks, things get a lot easier. Thanks for watching!
@@ThingfishyGaming Yeah I'm coming off of 3 playthroughs of Lies of P, I can definitely feel myself settling back in to the Elden Ring gameplay though. Thanks for the content!
I’ve got a whole pile of level 137 characters sitting at the end with everything done in NG. I’m just gonna take them. I’m thrilled they have separate scaling (sort of) in the DLC (well, if true) to make it interesting for high level characters. This is still a cool exercise to think through though, for sure…
Yeah I think the scaling is a really good move. Makes me far more tempted to go in at slightly higher level rather than at 115 like I usually finish. Thanks for watching, as always, GNP!
I've been watching your videos since your first parry guides, but I haven't really played Elden Ring basically at all since I got the Platinum trophy back in May of 2022. I feel like back then, I just brute forced my way through the game and didn't really learn boss strats and definitely didn't learn parrying. I started a parry build a few days ago and followed along with your guides and realized that I basically had to relearn the game after almost 2 years. I still need a lot more work on parrying, but I got through Margit with a RL1 Bandit with some practice. Now, as for this video, this is again coming from the perspective of a bad and very rusty player. I've gone at a little less than 0.5x your speed, but I followed along with your guide and really just breezed through the game up through Draconic Tree Sentinel and Radahn. I did take a few minutes extra to kill Greyoll and used those runes for Vigor, and I went out of my way to get the Gold Scarab from the Cleanrot Knights in the Abandoned Cave before Godrick (Flame of the Redmanes on the Uchi and some fire pots made this pretty easy). I'm really just kind of shocked overall at how good the ball fists and Cragblade are, although I did have a little trouble getting the range down for some fights. I picked up the Knights set because I like the fashion and the 51 poise, but I haven't used it yet, because honestly light rolling has felt really good so far. I'm currently lost in Leyndell, so hopefully the full playthrough video finishes processing soon. I have to say this is amazing work on the routing, and great production value as always. This has really helped me start getting ready for the expansion.
Just platinumed the game in anticipation for the DLC, this is perfect timing as I was unsure which build I wanted to enter it with. Thanks for the hard work Fishy, love your videos!
When i listened to Miyazakis interview, i instantly thought "Radahn?" Did he mean Godrick? As you only need to defeat Godrick to progress Varaes quesline to get to Mohg. Assuming its not a mistake then there will be some unknown story or lore reasons why
@@ThingfishyGaming No worries, I'd love to see more content from the runs you do! I found your channel last week and the content has been incredible! Your clear directions, concise editing and charismatic voice overs made me double my hours in the game so I'm up to 200 hours now haha. Did 4 playthroughs this week alone following your guides. Keep up the good work mate!
I did a DLC prep build using your setup and the Nagakiba, then finished that in like a week. Then was like welp guess I’ll go again with the Claymore. Now I’m gonna have to start another new game. 😃 not the worst problem to have.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a Claymore run. Funny enough it was probably my favourite weapon I used on RL1, for reasons I can't quite explain.
I enjoyed your starting class runs, so I did the same thing. I’m in mountain tops on the first run (Vagabond) and I did a guard counter quality build with square off broadsword and it deletes everyone. (So far). Really enjoying it, I thank you for these amazing videos and starting routes, they helped save time a lot.
I did this run, but stopped leveling at vagabond rl60 +17/+7 as I wanted to see if I could make it work as a faster way to make pvp builds (bc I'm an invasion addicted scrub) and that's the lowest level I like invading. Fewer levels and lower weapon upgrades definitely make it harder, but the build made it a lot easier than what I've been doing. And with some small changes to pathing I was able to avoid missing out on any items. Beating the game took me a little over 2 hours simply due to lower damage and a slower path, adding another hour just rounding up crafting books and finishing questlines I had probably my fastest "100%ish" run so far shaving off a very significant amount of time from the last time I did that. This was extremely helpful and I will be using ideas from this in the future because I will inevitably have a terrible idea involving doing this again through ng+ so I can have 2 of everything instead of duping like a sane person
Maximum armour protection , Maximum shield protect , talismans to also help protect and any weapen of choice with youtube to learn from experienced people would be a massive help imo for people who aren't familiar with souls like games elden ring being 1 of course , at least that set up would be a a bit of a breather to learn bosses , enemies of all types move sets and for those people who are slow learning or suffer mental health , and after all Elden ring is a game for learning by your mistakes in the game plus the enjoyment it brings , regarding the dlc by time people go into it hopefully alot will have been learnt already and we all adapt to any game if we can , much love and piece thingfishy another great video from you mate 😊
Assuming Fromsoft being Fromsoft, I think the fastest route: Do Varre quest->farm lv At Blood palace->Wrong warp to Farum (still work in 1.10.1)->Kill Maliketh->Run back to snow mountain get bell bearing->kill Mogh->DLC time
"Pin Boggart into the corner with the ash of war. This is compoletely safe with the flail." NOPE. Asshole got out and two shot me... then I respawned, he immediately aggros, and two shots me. Took a lot of doing to kill him at this gear level. Really rough.
Dex/Arc build with the Great Knife + Reduvia to make a speedy slashing bleed demon was the most fun build I did. Just switch to Cragblade for RadaBeast & watch them all melt lol
At 5:10, you say you can't get another 7 until after Morgott. There's a 7 in the sewers and you've killed two rune bearers, so you can get into the capital after killing DTS.
So I decided to try the "harder" version with the Reduvia, still stuck in Mohg for 3+ hours :D hahahaha But parrying the Godskin Noble with Reduvia was so much fun! Thanks for the video Thingfishy :) Edit: Alright after two days suffering on Mohg I'm back here. For those guys that are not as good as Thingfishy on him and still want to leave the game barely untouched there's two main things that would be good doing. 1. Since you're already dealing with Yura, proceed with his questline on Raya Lucaria and kill the other invader, once going for the Varre questline invasion, you go and fight Eleanora and get his tear, will help A LOT with Mohg's fight and wouldn't add that much time to the run 2. I found the fire dmg pretty annoying on Mohg so since we were at Dragonbarrow to get the Radagon's seal, it would also be nice to get to Dragonbarrow Cave and get the Flamedrake Talisman +2 (also the Bull-Goat talisman if you're not a fan of the Blue Dancer Charm) That would make the Mohg's fight way more forgiving, even though I went almost no hit, it felt nice to have those extra defense, and just by grabbing the mentioned tear on step one allows you to do SO MUCH more damage on Nihil, so give it a shot.
Fishy,i have a great weapon for you to do a build with: THE SERPENTBONE BLADE. idk if it'll be good for dlc but katanas are nice and cool so you have to do a build about that
sub'd! glad I clicked! learned a few things to add to my route(s). I dont speed run for pure speed, so my routes are different. Just done many playthrus, learned many speedy and non-aggro routes. via experiment, accident, or on rare occasion co-op. speed looting & routing is a mini game itself. Repeat Journey1's might not be for everyone, but I jokingly say Torrent is the main character. Perfect dismounts feel good - grace, chest, or jump atk. But yea, takes me a bit over 2 hrs just to prep, esp for a build that needs early altus. but I might as well early altus anyway - I pump flasks high early, but never pump weapon upgrades. Like +2 somber for Margit, character lvl low. But now i kinda want to try once - OP EARLY lol. maybe even try the bridge cavalry skip. And I skip a lot of content, but i cld skip more. 2 pro tips: 1) very beginning, (oops, wont work with big rune gift)... sell the 400 to santa, buy crafting kit, keep the 100. on the way to map frag & grace, kill 5 of those forest godrick bros (I skip the right one, too far). You should have 420 runes. 2) bridge dragon - i like to horse straight past, tap it's foot for 61ish dmg and keep riding - i need to try diff weapons & buffs, get it to consistent 69. and if u made it this far, a bonus fun fact... how I cheesed Radahn, no shield vow cliff trick - twice, once with start stats & +0 weap - and I'm not good at video games -req scythe (i hate that cave) or grave scythe or vulgar saw (I hate farming more). -spinning weapon (kill sad dad) -bloodflame -get up in his nuts and hold L2.
Your channel is incredible and I watch everything you post. Already subbed to Morefishy. Id love to see these fun unedited runs sometime. Also if I accidently hit fire giant in phase 2 before missing my attack can the run be saved or do I need to start over?
No, can't be saved, it's an integral part of the run. You have to delete and reinstall the game if you actually hit him first try. Thanks for the sub and the kind words, Gojeran. Glad you're enjoying the vids!
You can actually use Vagabond for some flexibility, since armored STR/FTH, DEX/FTH, and STR/INT builds are most efficiently leveled from that starting class! Though, some of the drip you gotta get yourself, obviously!
Someday Thingfishy, I'm gonna teach you how to dodge the Stormveil ballistas without even letting go of sprint. But for now I'll just laugh at your joke in the video even though I knew it was coming.
For an int build. I did this in 5 hours, but it was completely unoptimized and I grabbed a bunch of stuff that was unnecessary. I also used a wrongwarp glitch to get to Leyndell early for the +6 and +7 Somber, however, your route for them would of course work as well. The Mohg kill was even easier than yours because he didn't even get to attack me. I think at that point I was level 90. I went to Caelid early to grab runes, the meteor staff, Lusat's staff, and the staff of loss, which are all close by each other. As well as night comet and rock sling (good spell for Renala later if you want to respec.) Then I leveled 70 int, 18 Arcane (alternatively kill the mimic tear later for the mask that gives +8 arcane,) and I had 27 mind, but I think 128 fp should be the minimum you need for this to work. After that I went down the Siofra river and grabbed Great Oracular bubble. I think at this point I killed margit, but that can wait, and then I went to Liurnia for the red feathered branch sword, the magic scorpion charm, terra magica as well as the int knot tear and the magic shrouding tear. I also upgraded lusat's staff to +9 at Iji. Here's where I got the stones 1 and 2 from Limgrave, 4, 5, 8 and 9 from Caelid, 6 and 7 from Leyndell (again, you can go to Volcano manor, just need to reroute a bit and upgrade lusat's staff to +6 to kill the noble.) I believe at this point I started Ranni's quest and began the Radahn festival. Killing him was no big deal with the Summons as distractions while I shot night comets at him. Other things I had grabbed earlier were Golden Vow (AoW), the bloody slash ash of war (to trigger red branch sword) alongside one half of the medallion from Fort Haight, as well as the other half from Fort Farroth. I went to Altus via the lift for the amber starlight shard and to grab a bunch of extra golden seeds. Optionally you can at this point also grab the Ritual Sword Talisman and Godfrey Icon as alternatives to Red Branch and Magic Shrouding, and also go to Volcano Manor via Rya and do the first assassination mission to be able to buy assassin's approach from Bernahl, which isn't necessary for anything here, but it helps set up later easy kills like Morgott. Then I did Varre's quest went to Mohg, grabbed the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone and upgraded Lusat's to +10, and here's how the kill goes. Outside the boss door get your health low if using the branch sword then drink the flask with the Int and magic shrouding tears. Go inside. Remain by the door and use Golden Vow (you want to do that inside because he has to get a bit closer anyway.) Then cast terra magica, drink a Cerulean flask if you have less than 128 fp. Start casting FOUR Great Oracular bubbles, FULLY CHARGED. Each one will cause him to stop approaching you to use his uno, dos, tres, and the fourth one will stance break him at half health. After casting the fourth bubble, drink another cerulean flask, and start spamming Night Comet, remember to have the staff of loss in your off-hand. He should be dead before he even gets back up. If you like this method, feel free to polish it and make a video of it. I'm cool with that.
MoreThingfishy? Yes please. Subsribed, obvs. The speedy run looks fun but, as an actual old man who is currently six hours into a fight with Godfrey Loux with that Stormhawk axe build from the other week ( yes I haven't got any better ) I'm going to confidently say it's going to take me slightly longer to get set for the DLC!
The max you can go on smithing weapon before the capital is +20 not +16. Yes you need to travel here & there a lil bit more but can be done. I can have +20 smithing weapon & 11 flask at +8 in 1 hour 40 min. That thanks to your vid of +16 & another vid of some else that shows how to +20.
One other downside of this route is that because you kill Boggart, you don't have access to infinite boiled shrimp and boiled crab. I really love having these buffs for PVP scenarios (and even some PVE encounters), so I tend to stick to a somber weapon until I unlock Leyndell then grab the Starfist instead. Adds some extra time to the run, but keeps the questline intact for Boggart. Regardless, this is a great run! I gotta go look up the faith samurai now.
That's interesting thought for a PvP build route. Early Tree sentinel, Golden Halberd + FGMS would be my instant thought but there's probably something better. Glad you liked the vid. Yeah, the Samurai faith build is mental! Thanks for watching.
Two 7s by the lobsters in capital sewers. Kill goddrick cheese mogh , poison tree sentinel and your in. 1-4 somber from Igi, 5 in Gaol cave , 6 in gelmir , 7 sewers, 8,9 caelid
Im pretty well set up with a new character at Lv 125 but who hasn't set the Erdtree aflame to see to Melina joins us in the land of shadow. Doing all the NPC quests I can, and collecting all I can just for fun as well
By the do you have guide on parrying night's cavalry??? I can parry halberd guys(not very consistently) but I can't seem to parry the flail ones at all.
How come the nights cavalry isn't jumping off the bridge, he just does a massive sweep with his axe and kills me through the wall instead as load the game on the side of the bridge crack
Did they recently patch the cavalry on lenne's rise? I cannot for the life of me get him to jump at me, just the quick horizontal slash over and over again
@@ThingfishyGaming lol well to be honest you're really the only ER content creator i watch regularly. do enjoy your content though. cant wait for Shadow!.
Video/post 13 of asking for a "PC glitch"-less, offline and not too hard other glitches series after the starter class series on all the other souls games (including ds3 again).
These kinds of videos always leave me both exhilerated and bemused at the same time, like: "Wow, it's so amazing that this is possible!" and "But ... why would anyone want to play a Fromsoft game -- of all things -- in a way that enables them to _bully_ the bosses? That's so bizarre." Then again, if you can perfect-parry Malenia to death with no vigor I guess your notion of "bullying" is different from mine, so what do I know. 10/10 entertainment, would never try this myself, though. :) Looking forward to new parry guides.
I need about level 50-55 to beat Mohg, but you can achieve that by kiil greyoll (how is this pronounced that ll looks like celtic so is it grey-osh) and the stupid avatar next to it. The gear is the more annoying part.
I dont get why you killed margit and godrick in the furst part. Radhan is a shard bearer so you can already meet the two fingers and progress varre's quest
Well every day is a school day! I always thought Varre was tied to Godrick specifically. Could skip Godrick then. Worth doing Margit for the talisman slot, though. Thanks for watching!
FAQ's - (I'll add to this if necessary)
Is this beginner-friendly?
Haha, as I wrote that line in the script, I thought "I bet there's 100 theories on this". Thanks for watching, Rick!
GRIFFITH!!
You can also get them in the sewers with the giant lobsters in the Capital. Either fight the DTS or wrong warp there
@@FishCowand grab mohg’s shackle! its definitely worth going there after godrick+radahn, as well as getting the crimson tear to block mohg’s transition.
Exactly what I do and on the way I get the mimic to +10 cos I am old and need the mimic to beat the game. I never kill the crab guy cos I buy 200 crabs off of him before I go to the capital.
Man, I remember when this channel had like 300 subs and was just about parries. Awesome to see the growth!
Thanks for being here for all of it, Brooks!
Haha. I know that feeling. Nice. Frenzied flame builds are so much fun. Pure silliness. Thanks for watching, Mer!
I have one character like this. It was a fun build that I want to do again, but I don't want to collect everything again. =\
Something about ThingFishy saying "fuck" just feels right
One thing that might help people with exprience is the smithing stone drops from the 3 Falling Star Beasts, 10 smithing 6 (Altus and Gelmir) and 5 smithing stone 7s from the one in Sellia Crystal Tunnel.
Second channel: www.youtube.com/@morefishygaming
Deliberately left some of the deaths and mishaps out of this video, so you'll get some chuckles while following along.
(Edit: The full run is taking an age to process but it should be up soon)
Guess im gonna do another run 😅
I've currently got two characters ready for the dlc thanks to your videos.
You can get more somber stone 7’s in the subterranean shunning grounds (from the hands by dung) and the Astel in the river where u find the Ranni Doll
One tip that might speed up the varre quest and you dont have to commit murder. If you go to the four belfries near varre, you can go back to the chapel of anticipation and soak the favor in the dead maiden from the beginning.
Yet another fantastic video. Makes me wanna start yet another new playthrough. Still working through the faith samurai 😂
Thanks for watching, Beardy. Hope you're having fun with the Samurai build. Thanks for the membership too!
Yeah the balls and fists are so busted. Still shocked they haven't been nerfed. Glad you liked it, Eve. Thanks for watching!
@@ThingfishyGaming thanks! Congrats on the second channel too!
Perfect, just got back from work this will be on the tele during dinner 🙏🏾
Subbed to the 2nd channel too 🫡
Perfect timing. Enjoy dinner! Thanks for watching, as always, Saf!
The perfectly calculated vigor levels was insane
honestly not sure if he was joking or not lol. seen it happen a bunch. but that attk is pretty consistent, might be serious
Just keep in mind this run locks you out of ever getting 1) Shard of Alexander 2) Gravel Stone Talisman 3) Bolt of Granssax (and other capital items). I'm sure there are others but these are a few I was upset I couldn't get after completing.
Yes, it also bricks a lot of other quests with missable items. Permanently missable items and gestures in a 100h long game is just unacceptable.
small thing Id like to add, you can get another weapon to +7 and higher if you grab the somber in the sewers, there are 2 +7 sombers down there, one on a pipe, the other one has a scarab. Other than that, Great video Fishy
also what I just remembered, if you're okay with glitches and stuff you can get a somber 7 in farum azula with the wrong warp glitch
doing this build right now and had zero faith that ill be able to pull these fights up but damn the big balls are doing work ( kekw ) literally never had this little trouble with the sentinel before lyndel
Love it! And you’re telling me there’s more Thingfishy channels I can watch, like, and subscribe to?! Count me in!!!
Cool. A semi-manageable speedrun.
Exactly the intention. Thanks for watching, as always, Ron!
Lost my old save, so I was dreading getting my new save to DLC readiness in a week. Thank you so much for this Thingfishy!
good stuff as usual
Thanks for watching, Regular!
One of the best elden ring creators, keep up the great work!
Thanks for reminding me why i subscribed to you. Great video
GG on the plat! I still haven't done that yet 😂. Glad you like the vids and thanks for watching!
When i listened to Miyazakis interview, i instantly thought "Radahn?"
Did he mean Godrick? As you only need to defeat Godrick to progress Varaes quesline to get to Mohg.
Assuming its not a mistake then there will be some unknown story or lore reasons why
I see thingfishy video i click and like
Thanks for watching, Saber! And thanks for being the first subscriber to the second channel!
Same!
The glazing is INSANE
For mushrooms, there are safer ones by the teleporter before redmane, in a tent off to the redmane side of the fighting mobs.
Relevant video because my main dlc ready character is 1 hour into NG+. Time to make a new character
Another great video! Can't wait to unga bunga in the DLC!
Doing a claymore run now. Just got to altus and am stopping. Don't want to over shoot.
I’m having way too much fun!
Glad you're having fun with it, Aaron! Awesome that the starting run helped. Thanks for watching!
Beautifully fought...
Thanks for watching, as always, Richard!
I have so much trouble with Fire Giant to this day after many, many play throughs of this game.
Phase 1 or phase 2?
Phase 2 is praying to RNG Gods you don't get the Fire Breath Attack xd phase 1 is staying at his left (your right) foot
@@ThingfishyGaming phase 2, feels really RNG on what combination of fire attacks I get with him. I'm not the best player lol
Just got a sub. This is fantastic
1:55 Technically there are other places to find a Somber 7 Stone. I find Noble worth it for the Dagger Talisman.
Assuming Fromsoft being Fromsoft, I think the fastest route:
Do Varre quest->farm lv At Blood palace->Wrong warp to Farum (still work in 1.10.1)->Kill Maliketh->Run back to snow mountain get bell bearing->kill Mogh->DLC time
"Pin Boggart into the corner with the ash of war. This is compoletely safe with the flail." NOPE.
Asshole got out and two shot me... then I respawned, he immediately aggros, and two shots me. Took a lot of doing to kill him at this gear level. Really rough.
Bro I love your videos even no need build I continue watching 😍
Feels a bit like Vswed Re-enactment, and I like it!
Nowadays I usually start with the Lands Between Rune. That's some extra levels of Vigor right away, and golden seeds are plentiful.
My only question is how you make your game look so good in the videos lol
Great video!
Dex/Arc build with the Great Knife + Reduvia to make a speedy slashing bleed demon was the most fun build I did. Just switch to Cragblade for RadaBeast & watch them all melt lol
Ok Mr. Fishy, i'll take your 1:44:00 and make it 11:44:00. Just watch!
BTW, off topic, but has anyone else noticed the miquella's lillies in front of renna's rise? I'm convinced the two of them were in on it all together
At 5:10, you say you can't get another 7 until after Morgott. There's a 7 in the sewers and you've killed two rune bearers, so you can get into the capital after killing DTS.
There is a way to get another somber 7 before defeating morgott if you farm the hands right before dung eater without opening his door.
Hi Fishy, I love your video. Thanks 33:02
So I decided to try the "harder" version with the Reduvia, still stuck in Mohg for 3+ hours :D hahahaha
But parrying the Godskin Noble with Reduvia was so much fun!
Thanks for the video Thingfishy :)
Edit: Alright after two days suffering on Mohg I'm back here. For those guys that are not as good as Thingfishy on him and still want to leave the game barely untouched there's two main things that would be good doing.
1. Since you're already dealing with Yura, proceed with his questline on Raya Lucaria and kill the other invader, once going for the Varre questline invasion, you go and fight Eleanora and get his tear, will help A LOT with Mohg's fight and wouldn't add that much time to the run
2. I found the fire dmg pretty annoying on Mohg so since we were at Dragonbarrow to get the Radagon's seal, it would also be nice to get to Dragonbarrow Cave and get the Flamedrake Talisman +2 (also the Bull-Goat talisman if you're not a fan of the Blue Dancer Charm)
That would make the Mohg's fight way more forgiving, even though I went almost no hit, it felt nice to have those extra defense, and just by grabbing the mentioned tear on step one allows you to do SO MUCH more damage on Nihil, so give it a shot.
Fishy,i have a great weapon for you to do a build with: THE SERPENTBONE BLADE. idk if it'll be good for dlc but katanas are nice and cool so you have to do a build about that
I won't bore anyone with how I fucked up my first two runs at this, but I've just finished it on my third attempt. 9 hours, 36 minutes 😂 A PB for me!
sub'd! glad I clicked! learned a few things to add to my route(s).
2 pro tips:
1) very beginning, (oops, wont work with big rune gift)... sell the 400 to santa, buy crafting kit, keep the 100. on the way to map frag & grace, kill 5 of those forest godrick bros (I skip the right one, too far). You should have 420 runes.
2) bridge dragon - i like to horse straight past, tap it's foot for 61ish dmg and keep riding - i need to try diff weapons & buffs, get it to consistent 69.
and if u made it this far, a bonus fun fact...
how I cheesed Radahn, no shield vow cliff trick - twice, once with start stats & +0 weap - and I'm not good at video games
-req scythe (i hate that cave) or grave scythe or vulgar saw (I hate farming more).
-spinning weapon (kill sad dad)
-bloodflame
-get up in his nuts and hold L2.
Great vid
You can actually use Vagabond for some flexibility, since armored STR/FTH, DEX/FTH, and STR/INT builds are most efficiently leveled from that starting class! Though, some of the drip you gotta get yourself, obviously!
Yeah, Vagabond works great for this. Bloody wolf armour is a must in that case, though. Thanks for watching!
I suspect you could do a very similar run with bloodhound's fang instead of Iron balls.
As well as night comet and rock sling (good spell for Renala later if you want to respec.)
Then I leveled 70 int, 18 Arcane (alternatively kill the mimic tear later for the mask that gives +8 arcane,) and I had 27 mind, but I think 128 fp should be the minimum you need for this to work.
Here's where I got the stones 1 and 2 from Limgrave, 4, 5, 8 and 9 from Caelid, 6 and 7 from Leyndell (again, you can go to Volcano manor, just need to reroute a bit and upgrade lusat's staff to +6 to kill the noble.)
I believe at this point I started Ranni's quest and began the Radahn festival.
Haha! Glad the Stormhawke build is coming along. Thanks forr the sub, Crapshark, and thanks for watching as always!
@@ThingfishyGamingIt was working perfectly well until Godfrey. No Malekith complaints at all!
Well +7 only is assuming we dont find sombers in the DLC which should be in there!
I wonder what will happen to characters in NG+ when they cross over to the new zones
Just looking forward to the “Kick the livin shit out of Eldin Ring build” 😂
Margit fight you could have taken the dagger off for a tiny tiny tiny bit more damage
Doing all the NPC quests I can, and collecting all I can just for fun as well
Beautiful
By the do you have guide on parrying night's cavalry??? I can parry halberd guys(not very consistently) but I can't seem to parry the flail ones at all.
Reduvias weapon art "shotguns" if you do it in melee range. It can absolutely shit on most bosses.
Yeah, if you don't want the extra flask, the weapon is really good. Thanks for watching!
For a fast int build, isn't night comet broken? Just pick that up, the meteorite staff and lusats all from same general area. Just a thought.
Wait, I did not get it, we need to start all over again to access DLC? Can't we grind now?
The biggest problem is if you dont have plus and have to get to Moghwyn palace through consecrated snowfield
How come the nights cavalry isn't jumping off the bridge, he just does a massive sweep with his axe and kills me through the wall instead as load the game on the side of the bridge crack
Did they recently patch the cavalry on lenne's rise? I cannot for the life of me get him to jump at me, just the quick horizontal slash over and over again
stumbled onto this video and man you sound like Garth Marenghi
Killing Mohg without shackle or the bubble tear is pain 😭
what is your strongest build you did so far pre NG+
Make a inteligence arcane build. use rot breath on radahn, use azur comet on mogh...gg ez
You make this game look like childsplay. Love the guide Fishy!
Is star fists better than iron balls?
30+ mins 😫😫😫‼️‼️‼️ this should be epic
Hope you enjoy it, Luka!
i also still say bonfire from time to time...but i almost always say souls instead of runes
was anyone else not surprised by his answer of what else we can do in 1h46m in Elden Ring?
Haha, anyone who watches ER speedruns probably wondered why it wasn't Malenia at 1h46. Thanks for watching!
@@ThingfishyGaming lol well to be honest you're really the only ER content creator i watch regularly. do enjoy your content though. cant wait for Shadow!.
Glad you like the vids, Wicked. Thanks for watching!
If you talk to Alexander before you kill
Him he will give you an exalted flesh 🙂
I dont get why you killed margit and godrick in the furst part. Radhan is a shard bearer so you can already meet the two fingers and progress varre's quest
Well every day is a school day! I always thought Varre was tied to Godrick specifically. Could skip Godrick then. Worth doing Margit for the talisman slot, though. Thanks for watching!
