Their problems go way beyond the O-line. The defense has no pass rush, and they can't stop the run. Just about the entire team is undersized compared to top 10 programs around the country. It's going to take another year or two of recruiting before they have a chance to be competitive in the top 20.
They're gonna have more than just the Oregon game as a loss. USC is gonna do the same thing to them, only in Boulder. So will Washington, and OSU and likely so will UCLA. Hype and attention melt in the presence of talent and competence.

And Prime is not getting any blue chip lineman so far. The recruiting class is ranked 75th now. as an alum I have followed Colorado for 30 years and this will be one of the worst classes ever if it stays the same. Colorado had the 3rd most players in the NFL in the 90s and recruited dozens of blue chip players. That is the road to success.
No way the Buffs can compete with the big boys if Prime doesn't get blue chip linemen. Hope he can flip some. The best linemen so far are already committed elsewhere. Not looking good.

That loss was obviously disappointing, but it doesn't mean that many of these new CU players aren't destined for greatness in football. Some diamonds just need a bit more time in the tumbler before they can be put in the case for display next to the others.

The line of scrimmage was the overwhelming difference. Remember back early in the summer when people were saying colorado's players were small? Well, they looked small on tv compared to Oregon.

The trenches are the difference between Colorado, Oregon, and most top-echelon teams. Our QB and skill positions players can compete with anybody. But, our Offensive Line and the Front 7 on defense are not ready to compete at their level. When we improve in those areas we will improve on the scoreboard and the win column.

You don't have a single running back over 190 that can't be outrun by a linebacker. You have no big time tight end. The receivers drop as many as they catch and Sanders showed on Saturday he'd rather take a sack than see his completion percentage drop. Your DB's get outrun, the linebackers also get out run and when they do get there it's the proverbial dog catching the car, now what?
CU's trouble isn't coaching. Coaching got those first three wins. CU's trouble is they don't have the hosses to even lose gracefully to a marginal top 10 team.

You obviously don't know the team. #3 Edwards is usually the fastest man on the field, and Alton McCaskill is working his way back from injury. And Mikey Harrison is a great tight end, last game he was targeted 7 times and had 7 catches with 2 TDs and a 2pt conversion.

The team has no offensive line or defensive. But what would you expect from a 1-11 team in 2022. Baby steps. They replaced 80+ players. Nice story but temper expectations. In 2 years, they may have a rock solid team. No offensive line is going to get the QB put in traction quickly.
The problem is Deion wont rebuild quietly and just let gameplay do the talking. We dont see or hear great coaches in the media bragging on themselves, using slogans, or rhetoric. We all know his resume but for some reason he likes to act like no one in college football has heard of him. It's been annoying and saturday it was SOOO satisfying watching his 3-0 team get drug.

💯💯💯In all 3 games we have never dared to run the ball consistently. I promise you that would make a big difference. Defenses are just pinning their ear’s back for the quarterback. We need to try to establish the running game no matter what

Let your big boys drive off the ball every once in a while. Show that you have confidence in them. Most importantly, it will make your opponents second guess their play calling. I know to the average eye we see Shedeur getting sacked and we automatically say it’s the O-line, but, it’s a lot of other intangibles that goes into that. Oregon didn’t do anything special but play straight up football. We just hoped Shedeur arm could save the day. Oregon wasn’t going to let Shedeur beat them.

Oregon played an elite game on defense. It wasn't just the pass rush. They were fast. Receiver's got no separation. First tacklers took them down in open space. There's are some dangerous playmakers in Colorado's arsenal. USC has not improved that much on defense. They've dropped 28 points to not one, but two teams with questionable offenses. They haven't even played anybody yet! A lot of teams could beat Colorado. But not that many teams could shut them down like that! I hope Oregon keeps it up. They played one hell of a game. They could be really scary this season.

What really happened? Oregon has better players at every position - O-line, D-line, secondary, linebackers, receivers, running backs, special teams, and QB. Oregon has been at this a long time. Colorado will get better, but that’s what happened - Colorado got outplayed. I just wish these two teams would be in the same conference for years to come. I think a rivalry would develop, but unfortunately we won’t get to see it.

Shilo and #8 was putting in work during this game on defense. I don't know what the others were doing, but they need a faster and harder hitting defense. There seems to be little aggression.
It was a rough day out there. But, Coach Primetime will get the back on track and coming harder. The O and D needs to be addressed immediately. The film sessions and practices should be lit up and address some of those problems. Hunter not playing was also a major factor. But, it's early and the Buffs should rebound. Good luck.
Its the 4th game of the season. they are what they are. A lot better than last year to be sure. But not ready for 'primetime' this year or probably next.
