I have watched this numerous times, and still everytime it ends I feel as though I've learned something. Trower is amazing!

I saw him in 77 and he had a huge pedalboard. Still amazes me with his playing & his tone.

I was a teenager when Bridge of Sighs came out. Trower was my favorite then and still is.

I see Robin Trower every time he comes in to town. Super cool guy too! Our band even covers some of his stuff. SUPER cool video man.

Marshall VIntage Modern Amps, my favorite Marshall Amp Head, sounds like an Old 68 Plexi and a modern boost
and mid boost that takes it to the Post Plexi Master Volume Super Leads.

I want a Trower brand strat. I'm also very impressed by the small amount of pedals he uses.

I love my Vintage Modern 50w. I think he's gone to the 1987X now though.

Alex Wilson Just read this today, so I know you posted years ago. I grew up, literally, listening to Robin Trower. He played with Procol Harem in the 60s before going out on his own. The album “Bridge of Sighs” broke him into mainstream rock radio as a soloist. He has a ton of great recordings, but I suggest listening to the above mentioned album or the live record that came out in the 70s to get a feel for what is so great about his playing. Love the guy, and hope he keeps right on putting out records!

...been to 12 of his shows over the years, first time I went to see Golden Earring and couldn't understand why they opened the show , it was back in the early 70s and I was just in awe when Robin came out with James Dewer on bass/vocals, got to see James 4 times before he got sick. Those were the best ones but all of them were great, Davey Pattison puts on a great live show as did the rest of them. one time Robin had this black guy singing in Houston, does anyone know his name?

Robin Trower would sound like Robin Trower on any guitar through any amp .

@griffinmpable Agreed, They're the best - when I was young it was all treble pickups, but now I play mainly bass & mid pickups for a fuller tone.
It's weird: I used to use bass & mid for rhythm and treble for lead, but flip-flopped them around a decade ago and never looked back.

Unless you were around in the 70s or 80s you’d probably have no clue. I saw him at winterland in 1977 he was fucking loud and awesome. Great three piece band

treble pickup (stock) on a strat is pretty hard going but you can do it on a humbucker easily enough. Has he got his tuner at the end of the chain? Thats novel!

The small amount of pedals.., and the fact they're right there on the floor, like you're playing the livingroom or the corner bar. No board, no rack, drag them out and plug them in... end of story.
