plaid room is my local record store. love that place and the other two as well! terry and bob cole are super nice (as is the rest of the staff of plaid room). i hit them up almost every week!
Simultaneously jealous and not that you live that close. I feel like it'd be awesome ... but as you said, I feel like I'd be there all the time spending $$$$$$. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Hi Emma !! Wow !! I really enjoyed this video. Sounds like you had a wonderful time in Cincinnati. I like ELO, The Move and The Raspberries, records you picked up. Glad you, got to see, “Jeff Lynne”, in concert. I visited, “Cincinnati”, before and enjoyed my time there, too !! I went to, Everybody’s Records, Kings Island, Skyline Chili, Union Terminal, Cincinnati Zoo and Art museum. Love it !! Take Care. 🎤🎸🎵🎹🥁
Hey Dianne!! Thank you very much. Cincinnati was a blast - Jeff Lynne was incredible. Kings Island was unfortunately closed for the season, otherwise I would’ve definitely went!!!
I got to know the owners at Plaid Room due to frequent visits when working in Cinci. I also liked to eat down there! I found some of my coolest stuff at Shake It. I didn’t really eat in that neighborhood lol. Across the river in Florence they had a fantastic record store also
Hey Steve!! How's it going on your end? Plaid Room and Shake It are definitely gems. I'll have to keep Florence in my mind next time I visit. Have a great rest of your weekend!
Awsome pickups! I am so jealous of that Shazam record! It’s been in my list for quite some time. If you remember when I came on the livestream I talked about Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) suggesting a handful of records. That is one of them!
You are so good at this, Emma. Your knowledge base on these bands is incredible! I give you an A+ on delivery, too! Some of those early ELO records are some of the first records I ever bought. I am endlessly amused at how No Answer received its name. I'm envious that you actually went to Plaid Room Records and Colemine! I'm pretty sure I would have had to mortgage my house if I walked into Plaid Room, though. I have sort of a compulsion problem. Anyway, I loved your video and learned some stuff along the way (I never heard of the Alex Chilton vs Peter Holsapple feud). By the way, my winning records arrived today! I have not opened the box yet, though, as I am debating if I should treat it as an unboxing or not. Regardless, a video will be dropping in the near future!
Aww, Mark. Thank you for the kind words ❤️ I just enjoy being myself. I had to be reallllllyyy careful at Plaid Room. I could’ve done some major damage there. I’m glad that the package made it to you safe and sound. You’re the best!!!!
Love the video, Emma. Sounds like a great time and a great trip. I still need to see the Stones live. Jeff Lynn would have been a kick ass concert. I love exploring the local record stores and breweries as well. Those ELO albums kick ass. I need to build some of those into my vinyl collection. I have them all on CD.
YES YOU DO! I just listened to it today. Fun release. It’s worth it alone for the liner notes/Peter’s story. I ordered that new Repercussion reissue by Propeller Sound. Excited to get that in. Even more excited to see the guys later this weekend!!! Ahhh!! Thanks for watching :)
Hey Emma. Great video and trip. Love Plaid Room and order from them quite a bit. Great snags on all those ELO albums. The MOVE is killer. Fresh Raspberries! Cheers
Hi Emma- Jason Narducy rocks!! He played in Sunny Day Real Estate’s reunion tour…always busy doing something (I haven’t heard the Verboten album yet, but it’s on ‘the list’) Love that Teenage Fanclub album! Gene Simmons is a d!ck?? When is he not?? 😆👍 Fun video! Sounds like Cincinnati did well for ya!
Hey Richard! Jason is everywhere!!! I love it. I haven’t listened to Verboten yet either. That’s my plan for tomorrow. I also love Grand Prix (which I still need to pickup as well). Heyyyy be careful, saying G**n* Simm*ons name out loud will cost you. 🤣
Whatt?!?!?!? Elo 2 is a classic "mama" is such a good song so beautiful! Their cover of roll over is excellent love elo 2 it's a classic! "Time" is so good!!! So many hooks on that album! Ticket to the moon is one of ELO's best songs imo.
Hey Jack!!! I dig ELO 2!!! It’s just not in my top 3 from them personally. But it’s still a solid release. Agree with your take on Mama. UGH … I LOVE TIME! Yay for us Time fans!
Hey Emma🤗 Nice haul. When I visited Cincinnati I went to Shake it records as well such a cool store.. I bought Steve Perry’s first solo album ‘Street Talk’ and a The Beatle’s album called ‘The DECCA Tapes’.. I hope all is well, take care🤘🏻🤗 Craig
Hey Craig! I was at Shake It for maybe an hour and a half, and I could’ve easily spent another two hours there digging. What a great store. Thanks for watching! :)
I've never seen Jeff Lynne or ELO sadly ..nor Elton John or Billy Joel or McCartney or U2.... glad you got to see him though. I wish I had more $ and time of course.
The Jeff Lynne should definitely exceeded my expectations. So great. The only other artist I’ve seen that you named is Billy Joel. Haven’t seen the others, either. Booo.
Finding Bandwagonesque in the wild is the only way. You’ll have a story to tell on how you added this masterpiece to your collection. One of my favorite TFC albums. Not sure if recommendations are welcome, but I think you should check out THE SIGHS’ debut record, WHAT GOES ON. Infectitious power pop from the early ‘90s. You might already have this record and if you do, I’m impressed. Take care, Emma!
I really loved the Teenage Fanclub album that was released last year "Nothing Last Forever". It was one of my top five of the year. Are you familiar with the album "From Monday to Sunday" by Nick Heyward (1993). An amazing pop album I would highly suggest. Give it a spin on your favorite steaming service.
“I had to be very conservative with my money…” she says after she’s already shown us ten albums 🤔😁. “They didn’t become dicks, they are dicks.” 😂 I’ve been to Rhinegeist a couple of times with my wife. It’s a cool spot. Good beer. You got a crap ton of good albums. Glad you had a nice trip to Ohio. I’m guessing ELO were fantastic!
If you like ELO…and Cheap Trick of course, can I humbly suggest you check out the band New England who were active from ‘79-‘82. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Good choice for words Emma! 👍👍Gene Simmons he thinks he owns the rights to everything and is the great inventer he claims he invented this great hand sign 🤘who knows I do not want get Dylan at Record Spiinner upset I may go out and buy that recod for the $ bag it look cool .

Gene, what a guy. Great ELO haul!
Thanks Sam!

Hey! Thank you so much!! I hope you're able to find a clean copy of Shazam for your collection. Have a great rest of your weekend.

Cool finds. I am surprised that I do not have that Teenage Fanclub record. It's great. I have just a few ELO records . . . I enjoyed the video.
Hey Brian! Always appreciate you stopping by. Hopefully this video served as a reminder to grab the TF album. 😉
Emma! Cmon now! You KNOW GENE is responsible for life itself! Lmao 🤣
Great video my friend & pick ups!
That's gonna cost you $100 by just saying his name!!!
Thanks for watching, Anthony! :)
I thought you were going to say the highlight for you in Cincinnati was meeting jd vance. I really like Jeff Lynn too. He's pretty brilliant.
Idk about all of that. 🤣
Love the video, Emma.

Hey Chris! Thanks for stopping by. Nothing better than an afternoon drinking some brews and digging for rekkids. Literally my favorite thing.
Hi Emma - I need The Death Of Rock ! Repercussion by The dB's is one of my favorite albums. Side One is perfect. Side two , nearly perfect.

I will always enjoy your videos and I do my best to watch as many as I can. I learn something new or discover a band I didn’t know a lot about.
I've never seen Jeff Lynne or ELO sadly ..nor Elton John or Billy Joel or McCartney or U2....

I'll check this out for sure. Thank you for the recommendation & for watching. I appreciate you. Have a great day. :)
I have all the ELO studioalbums in my collection. They are great but not every one is good.😊
Totally agree with you. Some are hit or miss. Thanks for watching!
