AI - Best Ally Or Worst Enemy, Almost On SS14

AI truly can save the day, or ruin it. We will go through how the AI is in SS13, and also check if there has been anything on the SS14-side related to the AI.

Saw some really interesting discussions on the SS14 on how they could take the AI in a different direction than the traditional SS13 style.

@@Grypho it was kind of confusing so take what I say with a grain of salt, but it involved making it so that anything that the AI does from opening doors to operating machines or even communicating involved spending a sort of currency called a “cycle” as in a machine cycle like how Turing machines operate. Cycles are essentially generated from excess power that the station generates and would have to be balanced between power in, cycles out so the ai would have to balance things it does like opening doors or being able to see areas of the ship with keeping things running. The ai could turn of things in the ship to generate extra power, or turn off its own abilities to spend fewer cycles. Also the borgs would all report more directly to the ai and would derive some of their own abilities from the ai so there would be more interaction between them. Also there was discussion of removing borg laws, but making them obey the ai which does have laws so essentially the ai’s laws become the borgs laws. If a borg doesn’t obey the ai and breaks the ai’s laws the ai would have more abilities to override or control the borgs.

thats a new take to the AI, yea the borg laws dont make much sense since they are meant to network with the AI. like how the applications and software use chatGPT as base for their stuff

In ss14 you can use a remote signaler and network configurator (or multi tool) to send a bolt signal, a lot slower tho

theres actually AIs in ss14 but on russian servers such as dead space and imperial space for a pretty long time on the latter

Never done too much as AI on 13 (Only played as them once, and know their stuff.)
But i honesty feels like I am gonna enjoy playing as AI on 14 way more, always good to have a fresh take. If people doesn't start treat them as a glorified All Access door opener.

My favorite thing is when a random greytider says, "AI, open the armory doors for me" and you say "yes" and then electrify the doors.
