Is the dr400 still warm enough? And does it still have good bass tones? I leaning bit that way now after your tremendous feedback to me 👍🙂👍🤘🤘🙏

Yes, it is and it has some bass pretty good. Just make sure you get one that doesn't have the neck warped. Glad to help!

There's no build quality difference just electronics?

There is a difference, the DR500 is built heavier ( laquer, thicker wood probably - twice the weight) and is less resonant, but the DR400 is lighter and more resonant, louder overall.

Dr400mce to my ear seems brighter and the dr500mce a bit warmer? Is that your accessment too? I'm deciding between the two to buy at the minute myself. Anything else you can add please?

Well, the DR500 has a bit more low end but the DR400 feels more alive to me and it's probably because the finish is thiner on the DR400 ( half the weight also ) and less electronics. But they are both really good guitars, depends what you're using them for. And also if you prefer a satin (DR400) or a Shinny (DR500) finish. I like the satin more.

Ok. I wonder if the satin sunburst dr500mce would be more like the dr400mce satin natural. I like the dr500mce natural and the dr400mce natural like in your video but I can't decide which one to go for, I like bass and mid tones and not too much treble. It does sound lively the dr400mce. (I agree). It seems you'd go for the satin natural dr400mce. What do you think are the pros and cons of each please? and which one suits which needs more individually, eg playing styles and use. Is the manmade Blackwood fretboard and bridge ok of the dr400mce? Much noticeable difference to the rosewood on the dr500mce? Also how would you compare the eq's and pickups of both? Look forward to your feedback 🤘

@@millispartners08 I guess the DR500 Satin would be a good idea for you if you can still find it. In my view the DR400 is Superior Acoustic sounding and has less complicated electronics ( Discreete Volume + Tone on a piezo pickup) I've replaced that piezo with 3 Transducers UnderBridge like K&K pure mini and I like the more natural sound out of this setup. The DR500 felt a bit too heavy to me and seemed like it kind of blocks the All-Solid wood vibrations because of the finish. It resembled to my cheaper Epi AJ220CE that I sold by the way, it was too quiet and too much thick laquer, heavy also. I will always prefer a lighter guitar since the lighter it is, the more vibrations will amplify. Concerning the other questions: The fretboard wood didn't seem to influence the sound that much. I really enjoy the feel of the DR400 fretboard. The action is also very good. In conclusion, if you need the complicated electronics of the DR500, go for it ( Magnetic + piezo blend with many controls ) But if you will only need better acoustic sound go for the DR400. Can I ask you: What price would each have now?

I'm looking for a natural finish in either the dr500mce or natural finish like yours in the dr400mce. Both are really hard to find new and used for that matter. I only like the natural finish ones personally. The dr400mce at the minute used goes for about 900 AUD for a good one and the dr500mce goes for about 1,150.00 AUD, but anything up to 1,250.00 AUD.😁 I'd get both in natural finish if I could 🤘👌just struggling to find either in natural finish at the minute anywhere. Let me know if you spot th in the natural for me please mate 👍 the bit that hurts is the postage to get one from overseas to Australia - even a used one. Nearly 270-280 to post here so unless the guitar is for sale for low 800 Aud it's hard. Plus import tax. But I have been in touch with a few sellers that said they could 'tweak' the invoice after sale to help me there 😊 what's also your view on the Indonesian version ones vs Chinese manufacturers ones?

@@millispartners08 I understand, yes, if I hear anything I will let you know. I would say that the China vs Indonesia is not that important but more about specific guitars. Normally would be best for you to try it before you buy it. But I understand is not easy. Have you tried any Eastman guitars? Maybe you have any dealers there. My Eastman E1D is above any Epiphone Masterbilt in quality and sound.
