I use it to stop blood clots forming, which given the new white clots which are mainly fibrin that form from either Covid or exposure to Covid vaccines, makes a fibrinolytic very attractive as a supplement in our post pandemic world. If you doubt the existence of white clots, you have not been following Danish or Japanese pathologists who are studying them.

The amount of nattokinase they use makes a big difference, a lot of these studies under dose in the studies. I take 22,000f/u a day 11,000 morning and night. NK has a half life of about 12 hours, you have to keep your blood saturation up or the gains are very small. It’s like cleaning a piece of iron in the morning and not putting a rust inhibiter on it by night it’s rusted again. it has absolutely reduced my atherosclerosis. I have the images to prove it. After a year I included 1,500,000 units of lumbrokinase twice a week with 500mg of Berberine morning and night. For angina the best thing is Ouabain. Also you need to be on what I call the trifecta A,D3, K2-Mk7. You need at least 380mcg of K2-Mk7 to have any real effect.

I don’t go by grams with nattokinase or lumbrokinase I go by f/u. I had a thrombosis from my ankle to my hip, was in the hospital for four days with four insertion sites along the leg pumping atp into my leg. The hospital said I’d reached my maximum on this treatment even tho some of the thrombosis was still there I went home and started taking approximately 33,000f/u though out the day and night. The leg hurt so bad I want to vomit every time I got up to urinate. After day two the pain was receding fast so to get the pressure off the leg I started walking chest deep in my pool, and starting on lumbrokinase at the same time. I threw the blood thinners away. Nattokinase has an action that stops inflammation and pain very fast. In a week that leg was 99% normal, I went back for a scan a month later and they couldn’t see any signs of clots at all. They told me I’d probably be on blood thinners the rest of my life, HA. This a front line treatment for thrombosis and blood clots in Japan. I have taken this protocol for two years now and feel great. I’m 75. BTW I have a background in microbiology. I know how to read research it’s my hobby in my retirement years, I pay for and use Ai in my research to go thru hundreds of research papers ever year. You can make natto cheaply in large batches and freeze it. Eating about 3.5 ounces daily with mustard (tastes a little better) and provides roughly 20,000 FU of nattokinase. I think it’s a little healthier to eat as a food source rather than as a supplement because it has protein, vitamins K2, minerals, probiotics , nutrient synergy, and fermentation benefits. I’ve been eating this daily for the last year for the following possible benefits:
    1. **Cardiovascular Health**: Helps reduce blood pressure and dissolves blood clots.
    2. **Bone Health**: Rich in vitamin K2, which supports bone density.
    3. **Digestive Health**: Contains probiotics that improve gut health.

At a high dose some smaller percentage will survive to make it to the bloodstream. I use Nattokinase in conjunction with Natto. The reason is that I will have to eat took much Natto to get the 12,000 fu I need. Natto at this dose will add to much calories to my diet and lead to weight gain. Natto has a slime matrix which preserves the nattokinase from stomach acid and survives it the passage intact. I mix 8000 fu nattokinase powder with 100 grams natto( probably aroung 1400fu/day). The name nattokinase comes from the Japanese word nattōkin (納豆菌), which is the name for Bacillus subtilis var natto. Nattokinase is an enzyme found in the sticky part of natto, a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans and Bacillus subtilis. In 1980, Japanese researcher Hiroyuki Sumi discovered that natto could dissolve artificial fibrin and extracted an enzyme from it that he named "nattokinase".
As it is not a 'kinase', some pronounce it nuttOkines.

What about the calories? Even though something is “good” for you doenst mean you can eat large amounts. Olive oil is also good for you but is also high in calories so it’s a problem. It’s about finding the sweet spot and this is why supplementation is crucial. We simply can’t eat each and every food that is “good” for us everyday or we would be consuming too many calories, whether they’re “good” or not. Then weight becomes an issue.

If someone takes a new supplement and experiences a positive effect, they may choose to believe that it's was the new supplement, and they may be correct but... they also could be incorrect. So we definitely ought to pay attention to our bodies, but most people aren't sophisticated enough to identify and track the many variables -- confounders -- that can contribute to the outcome. When we take 2000 FU of Nattokinase things just feel a little better. At 4000 FU things start to move in some part of the body somewhere and it usually hurts. This can take 2-3 days before things are suddenly much better. Like a finger that had little feeling since an accident 15 years ago now is recovering quickly to normal levels. Or my mother's cold feet that hurt for a while when being "worked on" by Nattokinase and now are normally warm. The stuff is absolutely crazy.

Initially, I tried reducing this by undergoing phlebotomy or donating blood, but that left me feeling tired and unable to engage in vigorous activities, which didn't suit my daily exercise routine. Then, I discovered the clot-busting properties of Nattakinase. I began taking two capsules daily of 'Doctor's Best Natto-Serra 2000 FU' about four years ago. The Serra part is Serrateri which protects the enzyme from inactivation by stomach acid. At my next blood test, my hematocrit level had dropped to 44, and it has remained at that level ever since.

I had several very experienced staff try and draw blood with 14 pokes in all. I am usually a 1 poke guy and good to go. Also, I noticed BP numbers dropping 10 points. I have no other explanation as to what happened other than attributing it to this supplement. Consuming Natto the food has helped immensely with my Long Covid symptoms. I reckon Natto is better than the supplement because it also has Vitamin K2 which apparently pulls calcium from the bloodstream and dumps it in the bones, thereby reducing calcification of the arteries and strengthening the bones. This is an overlooked aspect of the cardiovascular benefit of Natto. When studying Natto and foods in general, I wish the scientists could look at the comprehensive benefit of a food, rather than being myopic and using a supplement in studies. The listed studies don't show the full value of Natto.

I wonder if Serrapeptase added to natto would have a synergistic effect in reducing atherosclerotic risk? Serrapeptase is an enzyme derived from the silkworm and has been used in traditional medicine for various purposes. It is also believed to have fibrinolytic properties, potentially aiding in the breakdown of blood clots.

I got rid of a clot on my right eye optic nerve in 7 days that caused total blindness. Before that I went 3 1/2 years taking statins and apixaban while the mini-strokes got worse, with gradual vision loss. I was taking 12,000fu/once a day to dissolve the clot. At 8:00 minutes the high dose is 10,800fu and I take 4 to 8,000fu as a low dose

One would have to track the biological differences between said Japanese and whomever is the person asking the question. People become accustomed to a certain way of eating, and their gut microbiome adapts accordingly. Given how important our microbiome is in how we make use of food, this is just one of several important confounders to account for. So, you're right, and there's even more to it than that. Cheers!

The dosing of Natto is as important as when it is taken and the overall diet of the person in question. It is recommended that Natto be taken 20-30 (or longer) minutes before meals or 2-3 hours after. When taken with food it becomes a digestive supplement and most likely would diminish its heart and blood circulation benefits.
A person diet rich in sugars and carbohydrates would definitely impact the benefits of taking Natto as this diet triggers artery inflammation.
In order to really fully understand the benefits of natto a control group would need to follow the same diets, Natto dosing amounts and timing of the dosing relative to meals.

I generally enjoy your understanding of the scientific literature. I have learned a thing or two, but your conclusions/impressions here on Nattokinase are dead wrong on any metric.
Nick, your impression of it having mild to no effect, and that other supplements might be better, is obviously not true. Because doctors wouldn't be using it in hospitals and clinical settings as an official medicinal, for over a decade.
Perhaps next, you will like to go over studies on some other time tested medicines, shown effective in clinical use? This is what kills me with these vids. This kid is a good researcher, but does not use all the evidence. He thinks all there is,.... is these studies. When in Asia, they use it regularly in hospitals instead of the standard blood thinners that can cause bleeds.
Lumbrokinase is another proteolytic enzyme like Nattokinase also used in clinical settings. Lumbrokinase is used by some doctors to treat Lyme disease. It has the power to break down the biofilm of bacteria that causes Lyme disease.
"Nattokinase increases the natural ability of the body to degrade the blood clots in different ways and confer many advantages such as oral administration, efficacy, cost effective, long lasting effects, stability in the gastrointestinal tract, as well as its potential to increase the ability of body to produce plasmin and urokinase. It works by directly degrading the fibrin and plasmin substrate, transforms pro-urokinase into uPA, hydrolyses PAI-1 and enhance the level of tPA, which facilitate fibrinolytic activity. Furthermore, both in vivo and in vitro toxicology experiments have provided strong evidence about the safety of nattokinase for human oral consumption, as until now, there is no toxicity detected upon its usage. Nattokinase..... has been extensively studied in Korea, Japan and China.
Lumbrokinase exists as a complex of six serine protease isoforms. Each isoform has different molecular weights with a variety in fibrinolytic activity. It has a dual mechanism in clot degradation: acts on fibrin directly and activates plasminogen and converts it into plasmin, which subsequently induce plasmin-based clot dissolution." Role of Fibrinolytic Enzymes in Anti-Thrombosis Therapy - (nih.gov) (May 2021)
“Lumbrokinase is used as an oral supplement to support and maintain healthy cardiovascular function, and to treat cardiovascular diseases in clinical [practice] for more than 10 years." Lumbrokinase Protects Against Myocardial Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury - (nih.gov) (June 2018)
As mentioned in the study, it is used extensively in Asia. And you might think the US has the market on health care, but you would be sadly mistaken according to any statistics. There is much more evidence, but this is getting long.
I just want to add that the study he highlighted, using a high dose of nattokinase that he questions,.. is a follow up study by the authors. They did one earlier that was smaller, and had very similar, beneficial results on atherosclerosis and hyperlipidemia, just as the latter, much larger study did. And whenever you can duplicate outcomes, that is strong evidence the results were authentic...
Effective management of atherosclerosis progress and hyperlipidemia with nattokinase: A clinical study with 1,062 participants (Aug. 2022)
Clinical study on the effect of nattokinase on carotid artery atherosclerosis and hyperlipidemia (July 2017)
You may ask why is the west slow on the uptake? Big Pharma can't have these cheap, safe, effective supplements wiping out their blood thinners and statins. Statins are by far, their biggest seller.

Definitely dosing, and duration too. Over a period of a year - how about 5 years of that dosing?
The dosing is pretty high for effective arterial clearing and people should take that with caution as it is a blood thinner.
Don't take too high of doses and don't take with other blood thinners.
I don't think it's a strong blood thinner, but at high doses it likely is.
I think a big part is having the blood "non sticky" for a long period, and the existing sticky slowly dissolves out.
Another big one is omegas, oc. Getting flaxseed oil or hempseed oil in your diet..., or just hte seeds themselves.
oc, omegas can be blood thinners too, especially fish oil (not sure of the others), so be careful with combining omegas with nattokinase (especially if in high doses).
Oh, and getting the toxins out - and exercise - get your body looking for food - it will find some in your arteries.
And Chanca Piedra - but not on same day. It's another blood thinner...
Pomegranates have something that reduces plaque.
And staying adequate in B vitamins

With the pandemic, a lot of people were checking their blood oxygen saturation with an oximeter. I have COPD, so I was always checking it. Mine stood at 94 to 96. Deep breaths I could reach 97. But after taking these enzymes, Nattokinase, Lumbrokinase, I'm up to 97 regularly and have reached 99 for the first time ever with large inhales.
