There is literally no human in all of modern music that deserves more of a chance than him. Ive followed him ever since I saw him on AI when I was just a kid. The fact that it took this long for anyone to recognize his talent, to give him this chance, is mind boggling to me. In my eyes, hes the Dylan of our time... and I only wish more and greater times for him. Screw popular modern music... THIS is what we have lost and HE is what we all need. Godspeed Josiah! Your one of my favorite human beings and I havent even met you in person. PLEASE keep doing what you do best and don't let ANYONE get in your way. We LOVE you

as someone who has been a fan since “this cigar” and “razor blades and hand grenades” i am so genuinely happy for how far Josiah has come. he deserves this and more.
Josiah played my the love interest of my 'daughter' in my senior musical "Bye Bye Birdie" [I played Harry MacAfee]. Josiah has always been lasered on making music. An early favorite memory of mine is seeing him audition for a musical (might've been for Bye Bye Birdie or maybe Hello Dolly! the year before?). Josiah played & sang Coldplay's 'The Scientist.' 'Joey' has been oozing talent for years. Have enjoyed watching him get his flowers recently. Would've loved to seen this show at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater.
When I discovered your songs in 2020, I told everyone that, to me, you were the future of folk music. Four years later, you’re no longer the future-you are folk music. Thank you for everything, Josiah, and wishing you a long and successful career!
Last year my car broke down on my way to a gig. I had to call up my old man to pick me up and I was feeling like a failure. We sat there on the car ride home and I put on Going On. I'll always remember that moment. This live version is making me tear up, thinking of my own journey and how much of a joy it is to see Josiah deservedly achieve his dreams. Thanks for the inspiration my friend.
Dude, I have so much respect for you. Only found you this last year but your lyrics and feeling hits me hard. Seems like from your story that you deserve every success you get. And sounds like you have to earn it the hard way. I'm a working musician and singer songwriter in Austria. And you and your music are a huge inspiration. Keep it up.
My (hopefully) soon to be fiance and I discovered you when you opened for William Elliot Whitmore here in Denver at The Bluebird, and we have followed your journey ever since. Couldn't be more proud of you and your well earned success. Gem of a human being. We love you.
Josiah, I cannot tell you how many tears fell watching this. I remember KNOWING that you were going to make it big and me feeling fearful that I would miss on the intimate experiences with you and your music. You did all this so fast. I have never really followed a musician like this ever in my life, but your music means more to me than you could ever know. I pray that one day my son and I can be in the front row, crying and singing to the magic that you emanate from your soul. Thank you for sharing your gift, I hope you are able to read this
God bless you brother felt every word I was also singed to Warner and other labels they are theives my brother thank you for your music so much heart in your voice come to australia bro happy to help!
Just watched this whole thing and as someone who plays small bars and breweries with nothing on the stage except for me and my guitar, I am so impressed with his ability to crush red rocks up there by himself. It's so hard and can be a lonely place - but man congrats. So inspiring. And the comment at 48:33 about that feeling...thank you for that. Wishing you continued success and happiness throughout your journey. God bless from Colorado. You're an inspiration!
I dream so hard brother Josiah, to do this I truly believe I’m here for the people I know I can go this life never doing it And if that happens I’ll never forgive myself I used to play on stage with some heavy bands in my city But my heart has always been with the acoustic and singing I thank the lord for this gift of music And I hope I have the courage to give back to those who need it
Discovered you during the pandemic and got to see you and meet you March 4, 2024 @ the Troubadour To those that have followed him from the beginning, count yourself lucky. One last song, six dollar check, holy place, going on, Kentucky Flood Just the beginning 😬🤯
saved this to a playlist to watch later; i guess now is later! you’re one of the artists i subscribe to every single time i start a new youtube account (which is a little too often haha). been following along since your audition because there’s something about your lyricism and tone quality that hits right, you know? unfortunately i live in another country so not too easy to watch you play live just yet! still wanted to pop in and say, maybe to the void, that sometimes dreams are achieved easily, sometimes they’re not. we’d all like to make it at 21 but it just isn’t the case for most of us; 31 or not, you’re closer to your dreams now than many ever manage. keep plowing along even when things are rough. hope you make it “big” one day but don’t lose sight of your now for your future. there are many who love and enjoy you right now, right where you are, too. loved the set-as usual :)
Tears and smiles watching this. Everything you play and sing, can be felt in the heart, every little nuance is full of heart. Over the last 18 months you’ve became my favourite artist just based on how much you mean it. I show anyone who will listen to me your music and hope you will come to the uk
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!! This was a such an emotional thing to watch!! Could feel all those feelings along with Josiah. We’re the same age and been following his journey since I was in high school and he was on American Idol. Saw him live play the tiniest little venues - and now this!!! Finally!!! So, so, so deserved!!!!
Josiah, I discovered you about eight months ago on TH-cam and have been listening to your awesome catalog of songs on repeat ever since. I’m very happy that you are starting to get some of the recognition you justly deserve. I wish you the very best and all the success you’ve ever dreamed of.
I have to say, I love your music. It is like comfort food for my soul. Brings back memories of my father sitting around playing guitar and singing. Thank you, keep doing you.
JOEY! I have been watching you on TH-cam for years now. I remember going to your shows when you were 15 downtown Morristown and the place was packed with standing room only. That was back when your brothers played with you. What sweet memories! I'm so proud of the man you've become and I'm still excited when I see you have put up a new post. RED ROCKS????? WOW! -from a West High teacher fan.
Man! I live in Valencia, Spain and I can't find anything near me to hear. Went to a Rock Club near my house to listen to Sam Outlaw and was absolutely amazing, but I follow you since a long time ago an so if you ever want to come to Valencia just ask and I will absolutely drive you anywhere and help you with anything I can. Would do anything to hear some songs of yours in person! Thank you or uploading this
I've been following you since the American Idol. You deserve this so much! Really happy for you ... and for us having such a great artist and songs. Just amazing.
I know I've said this a million times but I am so beyond proud you brother. When I saw lord Huron there in may and saw your name pop up I was so excited not just as an og fan but excited for you. You deserve it all brother. Love ya man
Good Songs! My daughter is not quite 2yo. She asks me to put on Blood Moon and Burn all the time. She says "burn, burn, burn" and for whatever reason thinks "time" is "cown" so she says "cown, cown, cown, cown" She loves those songs!
Does anyone in the know understand how artists perform other peoples songs in commercial settings like this? Do they get written permission then pay a fee, or is it not strict like that?
This guy has earned this moment!

Does anyone in the know understand how artists perform other peoples songs in commercial settings like this? Do they get written permission then pay a fee, or is it not strict like that?
Yes they get permission
The guitar sounds absolutely awful. Not his playing but the sound itself. Jeezus.
