He said his T levels were low after season 1. If he was not getting enough sleep and/or experiencing high levels of stress, whilst eating pizza every day it's possible his T levels took a dive. It doesn't take long to deplete testosterone levels, but it can take weeks/months to lose the muscle mass gained.

He phrased it as taking TRT due to his age; for many people in general, hormonal glands from kidneys (adrenal excretors) and somewhere around the mid of the neck (thyroid), don't function properly. The infamous hormonal imbalances happen for men as well. Low T can lead to depression and suicide even without gynecomastia (moobs). Symptoms vary slightly but do generalize. You also gradually become physically weak and more prone to diseases. Dosages for this kind of deficiency vary in concentration; anywhere from by week to by month application by injection.
All hormone secreting glands in the human body supposedly communicate with one another, through both hormones and neuroreceptors. The gist of them would be that some might pick up the slack for the others, but typical damage or deficiencies result in a downwards spiral. Even your genitals (male testes, female uterus) participate in this game of secretion communication and relative game of balance.
If people that don't experience a testosterone deficiency decide to have testosterone administered, they eventually find out that their glands get used to the surplus hormones and start not producing it. It's so degenerative that eventually they stop producing it at all; it's the point where you become dependent on that weekly or monthly dosage, depending on the severity of the effects. This is probably what you were thinking of asking about; a lack of T administered or naturally produced in either cases, where a deficiency is at risk, results in gynecomastia, hair changes, bodily odor changes, gradual or sudden urgent degeneration of muscle mass and "tone", digestion, mood.
As for the types of hormones; there's such a variation that you absolutely need to get a medical doctorate or related degree and grind man hours figuring out the organic reactions.

When I was 31, my blood work came back with low T (223). Which made a lot of sense because I had trouble going to sleep and staying asleep, I was mentally very foggy, was depressed and had no interest in my hobbies, was super irritable, no libido, and I couldn't lose weight even though I tracked absolutely everything I ate and had cut out fast food. I had been working out already for years and tried various medications for depression/mood stabilizers by that point. So I got on 100 mg/every other week as prescribed by my doctor. At two months, my T level was 376 and another month after that it was 494. At the beginning of 2023, after being on for a little over three months, I stopped the TRT, changed up my workout routine, and things finally started changing.
Last year I lost 35 pounds, regained interest in my hobbies, slept way better, stopped snoring, and a bunch of other things. I got my blood work done 13 months after my initial low T one and I'm at 475. I think TRT is useful if, like you said Philion, you've honestly tried everything else. I needed it because nothing else was working for me, but that isn't the case for everyone. And I was also worried about being on it for the rest of my life and am grateful that my levels stabilized after losing fat, sleeping better, and being able to reduce some of my life stress. But I also think that the super long term usage of TRT is troubling. My doctor said I could stay on for a full year, even after seeing the 494 and knowing that my highest level it has been recorded at was 507. So I think people need to do a lot of their own homework when it comes to this too

@@devonwilliams2423 there is no age where its "meant to be taken"... there's a lot of things that can cause low T in younger men. im 28 and had an pituitary adenoma that shut down my body's ability to produce LH and fsh gonadotropins. i think people keep talking about TRT and test as if they're the same thing. taking test is what you do for trt but trt implies its therapeutic or replacing something your body needs because your endocrine system isn't working as it should. if you're a healthy young kid and your body is naturally maintaining 600 to 900ng/dl of total T and you start taking 500mg of test every week to get bigger its much different from getting blood work done at 10am after a good nights sleep while on decent diet and having your blood work come back with 200ng/dl of test. cause if that happens something is clearly wrong and replacement therapy might be your best option at that point regardless of age. as for older people in there 40's and 50's even a lot of them don't need it either. the ranges you should be at in your 20's or 30's or 40's all change and go down as you age, 750 at 20 is pretty similar to 400 or 500 at 50. if you need the therapy you need the therapy. some doctors are absolutely shit at there job and don't care about patients but lets not pretend every doctor is out to get you

I have been on a doctor monitored low dosage for about 3 months now and I think a lot of people have the wrong idea about just what it does. I did not start taking it to get stronger or more jacked. As a previous lifelong "natty" I was already extremely strong, I don't compete, and i dont really post bullshit on IG for clout. But i definitely... feel better. I sleep better. My mood is more even. Its helping with other aspects of my life too. But I can tell you, definitively, that this dude is not purely on TRT. In 2021 a doctor prescribed TRT and I started feeling a lot better and lost some weight, but due to my other health issues I was still struggling to lose most of it. In late 2022 I had gastric surgery. I'm now at 185 pounds, my highest weight was 330 pounds, and at 30 years old now I feel younger than I've ever felt since being 15 and I'm turning my life around. Great video. It really is sad, so many kids and young adults getting on TRT based on "national testosterone averages" that are being pushed today. The majority is sleep deprived and/or overworked on a bad lifestyle/"diet" killing their testosterone. A neighbor of mine who knows I workout and train all the time comes up and talks with me about health occasionally asking for advice, he's morbidly obese, so he went to the doctor and his doctor told him he should get on TRT instead of just helping him with his habits. It really is insane, our generation is currently on our own when it comes to health, at least in terms of this med-industry. If you must, hire a nutritionist... but do your research, and definitely don't just rely on doctors that have zero nutritional background and profit from peddling.
As a side note, to the people who say "I'm this old, now I'm on TRT and I've never felt better". These are syntenic hormones with horrific LONG term effects, you shouldn't be on this unless it is an extreme and rare diagnosis that REQUIRES it. As you age and just as a living human in general, your testosterone is supposed to fluctuate (TRT does not allow for natural fluctuation, that's why people get huge), there's reasons for everything in regards to your bodily functions, and these industries do not care and will tell you exactly what you want to hear.

@@dabofiron.itzsimplicityit’s pretty basic logic dude. You can actually compare it to something as benign as melatonin. If you’re constantly introducing an external source of any given chemical into your body, eventually your body no longer produces it and you have to spend a LONG time training your body to learn how to produce it again.
If you build and build and build, you’ll push yourself to the point you get tendon and ligament injuries that are extremely difficult to get when on a regular and naturally supplemented routine. TRT and all direct testosterone supplementation is also incredibly hard on the heart and can lead to heart attacks at an early age. For lithe guys like me, if I got straight jacked on TRT, I would absolutely suffer from lung collapses due to the inability to actually keep up the oxygenation my body needs.

I had all the symptoms, ruled out all the other causes, and over the course of 4 blood tests my lowest free T was 76, and my highest was 200, and all were taken within the time frame they required. I was working an extremely demanding warehouse job and was in shape, but was barely able to build any muscle and was in constant pain, with treatment resistant depression on top of that. After I started trt and got up to about 800-900 free T I noticed my muscle mass rapidly improve, my stamina improved, my muscle and joint pain largely went away, my mood improved considerably and depression finally felt manageable. It essentially improved every aspect of my life that I've been struggling with for the last 10 years, though I would never tell anyone that it will solve their issues, I would tell them it can help you believe that solving them is possible. I was actually thinking I might need TRT because of how much it's shoved down our throats by the fitness industry and damn I am glad I just put the work in. Ignorance is bliss. That is the lesson I take from his case. I believe, this is my opinion, celebrities like Alan genuinely don't know. He admits his lack of knowledge, and when he makes his plea he lists the most commonly known substances.
Like a lot of celebrities, I think he gets mislead. He seems honest in his belief that he hasn't abused compounds, but he's a guy who clearly hires trainers, nutritionists and assorted professionals to assist his employment as an actor. That means large sums of money are at stake, and in order for high level trainers to make their money, they need their clients to succeed.
I have beared witness to coaches prescribing prohormones under the guise that they're not "steroids" and they will only help you but more naturally. Could he have been given sarms, prohormones or even oral steroids while being told they're natural "like creatine or a multivitamin". Yes.
Ignorance knows no bounds; it's not his area of expertise, nor his interest to know about training or drug use. He may think he's been natty for so long because he trusted "professionals", he just doesn't know the wrong he may have done.
Seems like a cop out, I know, but from seeing the most average people be duped while also hearing how they speak on these subjects. I see a resemblance in him. He seems genuine and humble, but possibly too high with trusting what people tell him.
If he was ripping 19-andro before he films, it would give him a base of muscle to a lesser extent than test, but would also crash his natural test.
It just seems like he's trying to not lie, he just doesn't know anything.

I am from Denmark and testosteron/TRT is illegal here. Doctors do not prescribe TRT and you can only get TRT if you are recovering from a serious sickness that has tanked your natural levels of testosteron. This speaks volumes of how little scientific evidence we have that there are no drawbacks with TRT use. Most men and women can boost their natural levels themselves with tweaks in their lifestyle as well as finding ways to release more free testosteron. I have no idea who this actor is, but he is clearly on steroids and I don't understand why TRT is suddenly looked upon as reasonable and not dangerous. It baffles me how you can get legal TRT from your doctor in USA, but I guess money talks.

    • @restitvtororbis5330
      @restitvtororbis5330 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The lack of extensive scientific research about it is largely due to the fact that it was very difficult to get through legitimate means until recently. Athletes and body builders could get it through sketchy doctors and most other people had to buy it from places that probably shouldn't be selling it. It's very gradually becoming more understood and destigmatized. Almost all of the fears people have about it are the result excessive and unsupervised use, things like breast growth are counterd by prescribed estrogen blockers, and loss of fertility has been minimized and even reversed by drugs like HGC, which can even improve fertility in men who lost it wouldn't ever even taking trt. I started it at 25, but this was after over a year of blood tests and treatments that basically ruled out every cause of my conditions except for the fact my free testosterone level was anywhere between 76 and 180, which are both far below the standard limit for being considered low, which is about 300, and that number is for any age, but for my age range I was vastly below the average. After exhausting every other option, I started trt, and a few months later virtually every issue I had improved, even if some improved more than others. Even with my testosterone level never even exceeding the average range, I realized how much easier and more enjoyable my life would have been if I didn't have the issue in the first place. There's a world of difference between taking it because you want to get big, and taking it because you need it to make your life feel like it's worth living.

Granted a man in his 40s may no longer be in "prime muscle gaining" years, they can still achieve hypertrophy at that age.
