The Reapers Reward Event is FAILING...Miserably😔| The Sims 4

- The Reapers Reward event is causing issues for simmers all over! Some people (like myself) are not able to get access to the event, some people are being forced to restart the event after logging out of the game, some are completing the quests but not being able to get the rewards and so much more! Watch in this video as I walk through some of the comments made on Twitter about the Reapers Rewards event and how many players and unable to access the things they need to be able to participate🤨
I intended on playing the reapers reward week 1 but I was unable to. As you can see in the video, the icons appeared but the tasks are not available for me to complete any quests....so I can't get any rewards🙃Which sucks because I was looking forward to actually playing through the next 5 weeks to see what was offered.
As I realized my icons did not pop up, I decided to log out of the EA app and log back in (that didn't work), uninstall and reinstall my game (that didn't work) and removing all mods (that didn't work either). So, I've just accepted that I won't be able to participate in this event.
I decided to look more into this issue to make sure that I wasn't the only one experiencing issues...and I wasn't. A lot of simmers had a lot to say about this new event and honestly, I agree with most of them on this issue.

These dev seriously can't do anything right, can they? I can't think of one thing in the past years that hasnt been a broken mess. How come can they can't make one thing that isn't broken!?
Im hoping that the sims team will acknowledge the issues, fix them, and either extend or completely remove the timeframe that you can get the rewards. And also, the sims has been so unbelievably laggy, I haven't even gotten to around to trying out the reapers awards quests before I was sick of playing
The only problem I'm having with the game right now is that the San Myshuno festivals keep on stacking over eachother and never going away when one's done
50 days???? When you said it was being forced in every save i was like "ugh now i have to wait for it to be over to play. should be a week, right?" ughhhhhhhh! i am so tired of this, you'd think i'd be used to it by now, but it keeps disappointing me because ive loved the sims franchise for so long! I've been putting off playing bc i havent been feeling well but have been dying to play spinningplumbob's new plantsim mod but now im afraid to log in!
It's amazing how bad the Sims team is at making games. There's STILL things that are broken from DLC that came out years ago.
honestly. the foundation is completely flawed and can't be change, they keep giving us broken packs based on the broken foundation... $1k of content and 10 years later, and they announce ts4 is going to keep going. im so tired. the only way this franchise can be fixed at this point is to replace the entire team (id love it to not be with EA anymore but that wont happen) bc clearly they can't make a working game that is worth the money and isnt just lag and rabbit holes.
@@hotwaterisspicy Agreed, I have a feeling everyone in the Sims team who knew how to develop a game left years ago and all that's left are the people who have less talent than the average modder does.
Unfortunately yes!! You’re definitely not crazy I tried on two different computers and it still messed up the exact same way on both! The task UI would just be blank and I couldn’t do anything to even start it. I really wanted to participate in the event hopefully they can figure out a way to fix it soon!!
The sims 4 getting old so no matter what new sims game that’s good or bad or the middle I only know the sims games will get old and get crash buggy and even more so it might be times to get a new sims game or somthing . It happens in the past too and the sims 2 was like that and we never got big fixes not even for sims 3 not even a little bit at least we get to have a little bug fixes in sims 4 more than 2 and 3 11:52
Uhg Yes. This is so frustrating! I was almost done with week 1 tasks, but then I went into CAS to edit my sim's outfit. When I came back to live mode, the tasks were gone and it was saying I had completed both quests, even though I had not! And I wasn't able to earn enough points for the last two rewards of that week. I was hoping it would work out when week 2 unlocks but now I'm not so optimistic. I like this idea in theory but what a hot mess.
I had to change careers because I couldn't "write articles" anymore after doing and completing the quests.
not everyone needs the paranormal pack. if you don't have it, you actually get another quest. also the reason you have the Grim Reaper's icon in every save is probably, because this event is per account. the last one wasn't , which is why people lost their items from the happy at home event. to prevent this, they made it for the whole account.

On console. Have to start new save, and never leave the lot or go into CAS. You can enter build mode, but that is it. No leaving the lot. No CAS. Do all the tasks before doing anything else.
For the thing about quests needing certain packs, i saw something the other day saying that if you dont have the pack, then the quest will be different and base gane compatible.
I've planted them dang flowers like 6x now and it STILL doesn't show that they're planteddddd DX
I heard the TOOL mod causes a lot of issues with events
I think it’s better for them to learn from the mistakes now so in the future they can get all of these things ironed out cuz I actually kind of like the event
The reaper rewards should have been a scenario challenge
@@nbucwa6621 I think they were trying to find a cool way for us to be able to play our regular saves and get rewards because not everyone wants to play a scenario but i hope they learn from this experience
we have paid way too much for this game for the devs to use us as guinea pigs, what are you saying? and they never learn from their mistakes! there is dlc years old that is still broken, and the very foundation of the game is unchangeably broken yet they now say they have no plans to retire the now 10 year old game! a $1k game should not be used to test mistakes, regardless of if you own all the packs or not.
@@hotwaterisspicy I am specifically referring to the event roll out I like you believe they should have been working on patch fixes for an long time. However if they are going to make things like this and give us “free” content I would rather the event gets worked out and we end up having fun. In my mind if they are going to make us keep playing the sims 4 for another 10 years would you not have them make these things better
I only have the base game and two free kits they've released. This is why I refuse to buy packs or kits or whatever lmao, they just break stuff that's barely working to begin with
Fwiw the only hiccup I had was that the two quests repeated themselves after I completed them the first time. I received all the rewards as expected.
I play on ps4. Tried to start the event today and I don't even have it available 🤷🏻♀️ I opened the game Last week and it was there then
HOW did they get away with this??
They will continue to get away with stuff like this as long as people buy the packs. They are making money so they don't care about the quality of the content they put out.

I was mad cause when this new update came out I lost all my first login event rewards ugggggg love the sims but they broken
There's no panel there's no nothing there's no acknowledgement of it
Same, nothing at all popped up for me. I have no icon, no tasks, no mail, nothing. And I have tried everything!
I was soooo disappointed, and I'm one of those who has never been disappointed from sims4. I have nice chunk of story in my sims 4 with an olive specter remake so was super excited for the event. 1st week went amazing super fun. I heard about all the bugs but felt like o might just b for people with mods (never use them). Then week 2 they said they fixed it.....but really they just broke it for everyone else. I can see the rewards but no task. Every tues I log in hoping I can play and no. Just sucks cuz usually I wait a few months after packs come out for the bugs reason. But this was a timed event......RIP olive story line enhancers
For me I can’t even do the grimophone one because I got the mail I needed for points but it doesn’t give the points
I have no problem with sims only toxic immature complaining ungrateful people but I am waiting to deal with week 4 . It says last week it says wait a nother week to do the rewards . I have not logged on yet so I hope there’s no issues today but if there is I don’t care I am happy and greatful with out arguing and attacking ea like others do. What I’m curious is the coffin ⚰️ for the grim rewards , is it decorating item or you can really use it that’s I’m curious. 8:43
