Mel, trust me from experience of YEARS of unexplained 'issues', random symptoms, nothing connecting to the other it seemed until i kept a calendar with every thing i had over a year. I showed my doctor after and showed him a list. It took several years to foguire out i have an autoimmune issue. Stress activates, illness activates, just remember eat well, rest well, take up something like yoga, listening to music, what ever relaxes you. Something to destress even if you think you are not stressed. Over time even if you get half a dozen different diagnosis, you may figuire out with your doctor it is one thing not half a dozen. Just chill, take Mel days. ❤

I listened to you and then read a bunch of comments. I am 65 - lived on a homestead when i was growing up. We raised, grew, ate all of our food and the one thing i grew up with was migraines every week. Fast forward to my 20's i found out I was extremely sensitive to MSG. I put ACCENT on everything which is 100% msg, lowered my headaches to monthly. 30's Dr. told me I was allergic to cigarettes well that took me by surprise. Age 40 hit and I stopped smoking, my headaches went completely away. Around 45 I started listening to folks talk about their illnesses and how they were on all these medications. Then I developed a severe pain on my right side went to the dr and he said it was my gallbladder I was at the age where it needed to be removed. In between doctor visits i went to the chiropractor and asked where the gallbladder was on my back when he touched it i screamed. Chiropractor fixed my spine which fixed my gallbladder which never was removed. Melanie all healing comes from listening and deciding, which path you will travel down. I recommend finding a good Chiropractor. Also if you smoke or vape you need to decide is it worth ingesting. The lotions you use, the soaps you use, the laundry soap, the shampoo, all can aggravate sysmptoms. Watch out for labels that read "made with bioengineered food". Ps just had my blood work done 1st time in over 15 years and it came back perfect. Eye exam nothing has changed in 2 years. Take control by listening, reading, praying. Peace.

I hope you are feeling better soon Mel. Several years ago I had an allergic reaction after eating more beef than I normally eat. The allergist doctor told me that we overcome over allergies to things by ingesting small amounts of what we are allergic. A friend who had allergies in the spring and fall to pollen was told by his doctor to buy locally produced (not store bought) honey and eat a spoonful daily. Said it needed to be local for the honey would contain pollen from the flowers and trees around you. Therefore it would help you build up your immunity. I hope the doctor is able to help you out. I watched the video with the work on the deck prior to this one and the four of you really got a lot of work done.

Mel, My doctor here in Maine said my pain was not gout. However, I was seen by a Osteoarthritis Specialist because the of the joints being involved. After a full blood screen, my sodium was off the charts. At that time I had just retired and living wild and carefree. I was also D3 deficient. That was 10 years ago and had to make some major dietary changes. My husband is a nutrition diabetic so these changes were
    already in place.
    I did a 30 day test eliminating salt; taking D3 capsule three times a day along with gummy multi vitamin; no beer☹️;
White sugar or white flour ( I do alot of baking); no fried foods or packaged foodsand no salt at all; no processed meats, deli or canned; increased veggies and water.
On day 35, redid blood test and ALL levels had dropped to where my doctor was very glad.

Let me know if you are interested and your email address to start the conversation. Love your family and I would love to share and help you heal yourself as Jesus "the Healer" said we could. 😅My husband gets gout and has never had high uric acid. He gets it so bad he can't get out of bed. He is now on allopurinol daily. With out this medication he has flares all the time. It doesn't matter if he eats alot of red meat or not. So he just eats a good diet with all different kinds of meats and vegetables.

Mel do not stop sharing because yes it is uncomfortable for you to tell what is happening but you have a very large audience & your story may be exactly what someone needs to hear. They may have similar pain & you can let them know they aren't alone. God will give you strength to bare whatever you are going through. His word promises you that!. Praying for His healing touch & His miracles.

I’ve had one thing or another ever since I had covid, brain fog, things still don’t taste good, don’t have enough breath to clean my house. Then I started having sciatica nerve pain in my hips, then I got the flu and then it snowned and decided I needed to check on things at my daycare. Slipped down in the ice. A week later I wake up in horrific pain in left hip and knee. The dr was suppose to order a test when I was closed for Christmas. Which he forgot , so after I wake up with this new pain. I call the dr back telling him I’ve got to have something done. I go last Wed , now it’s bursitis. I’ve never had anything in my life to hurt so bad. Hope you feel better soon. I’m on arthritis meds and high blood now having to use a walker and a cane. No way you turn can you get comfortable. I’ve never had this much pain.

Had shingles at age 15. Get an outbreak every year since. The blisters don’t always come out, Mel. Get tested for autoimmune diseases. I had crazy things for years and drs made me feel like I was crazy. Went to a woman dr and surprise, I tested positive for Lupus. Have fibromyalgia and arthritis also. I get hot pain down my fingers too from thumb to index finger. Big toes pain. It’s Nerve pain. Gabapentin helps with that. I lose energy and can’t do anything for a while. It comes and goes. Manage the pain anyway you can. Ice packs when it’s swollen and red. Autoimmune diseases show in strange ways. Or pinched nerves in your spine. You’re not alone. Rest as much as you need and can. God bless. I’ll pray for, you. 🙏🏻❤️

You are so young to be going through all this. I’m 72 and 1/2 and as you said to each their own, every time I’m up for any booster, albeit flu, shingles, pneumonia, COVID, you best believe I’m at the Walmart with my card saying stick me. I don’t like being sick so Imma do whatever I can to keep from getting sick. I have two grandkids that have extreme asthma and for either of them to contract any of those diseases to be fatal to them so I will vaccinate for them and myself. You take care of yourself sweet girl your husband and children need you!❤

I have had the samething. I didn’t go to the Dr. I was doing physical work on my mini homestead. I did Epsom salt bath, stayed off my feet, got better shoes, more veggies less meat, more water, slowed down on coffee, started using Dr Bergs hydration / electrolyte powder, has magnesium and potassium that help muscles relax too. For my fingure issue, everything above, but also stopped over doing repetitive work with any tools, even doing less chickens to process at one time. I have had Rona the last week January 2020 and have not vaxed. I had Fibromyalgia for years. Ashwaghanda works great for this and for stress. I do no sugar and use monk liquid sweetener now… I eat very little carbs now… unless a veggie with low carbs. Very little potatoes. Lots of water, green tea is ok and herb tea. Organic food as much as possible. No more than 1 cup a day of organic coffee… and skip days with tea instead.
You could do a liver cleanse.
    I haven’t had a flare up but 1 time.
Take care. Take care of you and learn your physical limitations and eat good, drink good.
Take care… feel better soon! 💖🌷😊

Praying for you Mel I had the same thing happen to me. My big toe felt like a in grown toe nail for a week, and a headache I was living on aspirin. Did all the test everything came up normal. Just sitting here I can feel my big toe slightly throbbing. My doctor is now sending me for a nerve test. I was hit by a school bus about 10 years ago and have lower back pain she believes it’s for that. Like you I have a hard time resting my body I’m always on go. For 25 years I was on my feet as a medical assistant running for one side of office to other, and now walking to bathroom is a chore. I know how you feel I told my husband I wanna go and have my toe cut off to fell better.
I wasn’t told stop eat red meat, and I don’t drink tea, I’m a coffee girl. Oh one thing just through of I lived in NY all my life and move to Florida 6 years ago. It’s funny after 6 years this started happening to me. I’m think it’s because of the weather, at night it’s in 40s by day it’s 70 to 80. I will continue to pray for you. Love you guys.

I was 58 when I got Shingles. The crazy part about my Shingles is that I just had them in my left hand (blisters). As a person who started with autoimmune illnesses in my thirties and now live with 5 in my sixties. I would suggest inquiring about rheumatoid arthritis. Your symptoms including your age bracket would tend to lean in that direction more than gout. While I pray for you that I am wrong, I would certainly start asking the doctors about it. Love and prayers for answers soon. 💗🙏

Hey Mel, I have different issues but all or most of my blood tests came out relatively normal. Well, I was in and out of the hospital several times in the past 2 months. When I was released in January with surgeons refusing to remove my enlarged spleen, I contacted Mayo clinic in Rochester MN. 11 days later I traveled up there for 10 days and many tests. I have to return in April, but I finally have answers and I feel like I'm back to normal. I am praying for you. God has a plan.😊

Sounds like you have an autoimmune disorder. I've been living with several most of my life.
Sadly you just learn to deal with the pain. What I thought was unbearable 40 years ago as a kid doesn't faze me now. Sounds like Rheumatoid or Psoriatic Arthritis, it can take a while for it to show in blood work. My inflammatory markers didn't really show much for about 2 years after symptoms started. My brother and I have trifecta of arthritis. He was completely crippled at 42.
Arthritis is actually more prevalent in woman. Autoimmune disorders are usually triggered by a viral infection that triggers your immune system to go haywire and start attacking you rather then the virus, bacteria, etc.
Good luck and hope you feel better. It can take a while to diagnose autoimmune disorders.

I had Delta Covid pneumonia. In hospital for two month. That was over a year ago. Since then, I’ve had weird things happening to me too. I was in the shower and felt the “ hot” in my hands suddenly. Very painful. My fingers swelled at the joints. I couldn’t even bend them. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. My toes hurt after that and now my back.
I hope you feel better and get on top of it. If it’s Gout the AZO wouldn’t counteract it. Keep taking the medication and soon you will feel better. Gout is not just an older persons issue. I was always healthy until Covid. My life is forever changed and physicians just don’t know enough about it. Love you guys! ❤️❤️🙏🙏

Mel, As someone who went through sudden health issues when i was your age. It can be very scary and confusing. Try ( as hard as it is) not to focus on it. It will stress you out worse. The most important thing is keeping your stress level as low as you can. you have to put it in a box in the back of your head and only focus on it when you have to. You are so very bless to have that wonderful man sitting next to you. He will take care of you. Theres nothing you two cant face together. Im praying for quick answers but don't expect them because you will be disappointed with each doctors appointment. It is more about ruling things our over a period of time, Thats why i say don't stress . It is hard not getting answers when u are spending time money looking for answers and not getting them . Sometimes that is the worst part. KEEP YOUR STRESS DOWN because that will make it worse. I know its hard. Im praying for you. God bless you sweetheart! Hang in there.

Praying for answers for your symptoms. I had Covid in 2022. I kept getting severe bronchitis afterwards and finally was diagnosed with post-Covid induced asthma. Now with Symbicort asthma is controlled. I have other weird unexplained symptoms, one being my mouth (roof and tongue) feels like it does when you burn it with hot cheese on pizza but looks normal. Some doctors have told me lots of their patients have unexplained post-Covid issues. They don’t really 😢understand that virus. Brooke from Cog Hill has been trying to get answers from severe seemingly autoimmune issues that came on suddenly. I know she also had Covid although she has not said anything about this could be related. I personally believe Covid has long term effects for many.❤🙏🏻

I have these issues and have been working with them for years now, ask to be tested for RA, you are experiencing the same signs I did, and if caught early can be treated successfully. RA is an autoimmune disease that attacks the joints, usually on the same side of the body. I started out with the Uric acid problems too, but let the tests go for other issues and now I have to be treated continually. Please mention RA to the doctor!

That’s exactly what I was going to say…gout. My ex husband had a very bad case of gout and it is extremely painful. He got it in both his knees. Yes it can be controlled by diet, plenty of water etc. think about seeing a naturopath. Odourless garlic tablets are good to take to boost your immune system, garlic is a natural anti inflammatory. Yes! That’s exactly what gout is, knives in your joints. Would love to know how you go after your doctors visit. You need to heal Mel, just slow it down, you need to take care of yourself before you go helping others. You just maybe burning the candles at both ends. Love and prayers for a quick recovery 🙏🙏🤗🤗

I’m so sorry you are going through so much right now. I completely understand what it’s like not knowing or having answers. I have a very complicated medical history and it took a long time advocating for myself before I had answers to what was going on in my body. If I may suggest, try to find a good rheumatologist in your area. I saw several before I had my answers. A rheumatologist should be able run tests to help identify any autoimmune disorders. They should also be able to tell you if you have any vitamin deficiencies. Unfortunately, it takes time! I wish you well and hope you feel better soon!

Luckily in the UK we get a free vaccination which greatly lessens the effect of shingles. I have arthritis in both hips, neck and left shoulder and have suffered from gout for a few years. For gout I have been prescribed with Allopurinol and have to take one tablet every day. Since taking the tablet I have had no attacks of gout. Luckily in England, being over the age of 60, I get free prescriptions.

Poor Mel 😔 Ask your doctor about rheumatoid arthritis as not everyone who has it, tests positive on the 3 tests they do. I agree, please seek an appointment with a Rheumatologist! My grandaughter contracted Shingles at 13 years old, then had Mono, but it was diagnosed as Strepp & was given medication that was totally detrimental for her liver. She got better in time, then started having very swollen joints to the point of excruciating pain, unable to walk, unable to lift anything , swollen hands to where she had to have rings cut off, & in constant pain. Her dr. Finally did some more tests & her levels were off the chart & was sent to a Rheumatologist. Finally! Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis , & after a year takes an injection every other week, which helps so much, but is not a cure , nor does it stop all the swelling nor stop all the pain. But at least she can function now. Its so sad to see & I only wish I could change places with her & relieve her pain. Btw, my grandaughter is only 21, so she has to deal with that for the rest of her life.

I was seronegative for a couple years and then boom, it started showing up. Most of my inflammatory markers are never really crazy but the arthritis is everywhere. 1st Rheumatologist diagnosed fibromyalgia. She never took 1 x ray! 2nd one I went to, ran everything and x rayed everything and did a nuclear scan and Vectra DA test. Diagnosed RA,PsA, Sjogrens, and within 60 days of those, here came Graves.
Took me almost 3 years of testing to get diagnosed. Being in chronic pain is exhausting.
We've all been taught to keep pushing through even when we feel bad.
LISTEN to your body! It sure wasn't easy not feeling well and having to push to get tested!
Seems we all have to advocate for ourselves with the DRs anymore.

Hi Mel. I'm female, and first developed gout when I was single and in my early 40's. I was convinced I had somehow dropped a sledge hammer on my big toe. It developed in less than 24 hours and it was horrible. I drove myself to the ER and came home with crutches and medicine that knocked me on my backside. I've had several flairs over the last 20 years. I know that, for me, excess caffeine can be a trigger. (I'm a Diet Pepsi junky!) I now keep a bottle of prescription Colchicine available, and when I begin to get the "gout's coming" twinge, I can take that and head it off. If you can stand it, massaging it can really help. When mine flairs up, I can get my husband to massage it and it will help it ease off more quickly. It hurts like you know what, but it helps. My theory is that it helps the uric acid crystals dissipate. Diet may play a role, but genes have the biggest influence as to whether you develop gout or not. I'm so sorry you're going through this. My first flair was while I was in the middle of setting up 4 raised beds. I hobbled around my garden as long as I could before giving in and heading to the ER. I hope you feel better soon. Stay away from the sweet tea and drink the plain water! Many hugs!!

Maybe look deeper into foods to eliminate & changing your diet to bump out the medication. I've been trying what I can & finding that avoiding foods with lectins in them & so far anything to do with a strong tomato base in it being removed from my diet has helped with my knees & rubbing Castor oil in some painful areas has helped as well. At my age I'm finding I need to make some better changes to avoid paying into the garbage pharmacies

I have osteoarthritis in my knees, ankle, and some of my fingers. At 72 I had an acute arthritis episode in two finger- red, painful, swollen. I have never had this reaction before. Voltaren cream is now my friend. I apply anytime to areas that start hurting. It does help. I hope you find something that helps you.

Feel better soon! We love you and all care! Write down your weird happenings as you think of them, that may assist the doctor's.

😮 I had a stroke a few years ago and I have the same problems that you are and after I passed out for just a little bit I woke up in the hospital and couldn't understand people when they talked to me.
Sounded like a language that I didn't know. I couldn't talk. The hospital released me after 2 days on medication but at home it took 3 days before I could function properly.
Since then my hands are doing the same thing as yours and my short term memory is not good. I may think it's Friday but it will be Saturday or Sunday.
One side of my body is losing muscle.

I have had gout since I was 25, 63 now. I have taken a medicine called Allopurinol since being diagnosed. I'm an old coal miner and tougher than a pine knot, but a gout flare up is one of the most painful things I have experienced. The first time I had a flare up I could have shot my big toe off and I don't think the pain would have been any worse. Hang in there.

Glad to see you looking at the diet aspect of this. As a dietitian I can help yo out with that if you need/want. You are definitely on the right track. Lot of water. Test your water as well to see if you have high levels of something toxic to you. You mentioned sweet tea and that can and will cause this as it is very high acid. Just do a test and not drink any for one whole week. Substitute water for tea. I think you will have solved your problem.

Mel, Gary and Kids! Hello, Mel I hope whatever the Doc is doing for you helps, I already know it is not working fast enough, but a lot of people are having tough times right now, and it takes time for all the prayers to be answered! Hang in there, you will be back to GIT N DONE, in no time! ❤❤
I was watching you and Whiterock working on your deck, and that plus Country Road Cure working on their garden, got me to thinking! About the people that were so instrumental in making it all happen, Rooster created the garden bed for CRC, as well as dug your basement and created you tiers for the garden and animals. You largely had same dump truck driver through it all, and then the Masonry Contractor that mentored you both! I bet they would love to come back sometime down the road and see all the progress they help the 41.36 make. Maybe a good reason for a Summer bar-be-que! I am sure there are others I am forgetting, but you get the idea. I really miss Rooster, he was just a hoot, and we all know he is Abe's hero! Well hopefully that took you mind off your medical woes for a few minutes! Take care, be Safe! ❤❤

I have had the "gout" pain, my thumb got "stuck", my immune system is so low, weird 15 second headaches, eye twitching, and so many other weird symptoms. No test results showed anything. I got covid Feb 2029 from a relative from Seattle. It was the first strong hit. What I have is Covid Long Haul. No two long haulers have all of the same symptoms but many symptoms overlap. It sure sounds like that is what you have. There is a vitamin protocol that helps reduce the symptoms. It may be worth the research to check it out. I got to the point that I felt like a hypochondriac crazy person but it's real. COVID was a crazy cocktail for sure

  • @rachelwollan3310

I have a rare auto-immune disease, not that I think you have it, but there are multiple auto-immune diseases where the labs look good, but the body is not. Sero-negative RA is one of them, Relapsing Polychondritis is another (that's the rare one I have). All that to say, not all textbook symptoms and results fit every individual. Also, stress does not have to be bad to cause flares. Vacation, holidays, weddings, even birthday celebrations can cause flares. You are in my prayers - God is good and He is not left in the midst of mystery. I cling to that and the fact that I am in His almighty, gentle hands.

After reading a few comments where everyone is saying "alcohol ", i need to share. My husband had this exact issue several years ago and it just happened to fall right after St Patrick's Day. He went to the doctor in so much pain and was told it was gout and the doctor said its from drinking too much. Apparently assuming he drank too much for St Patrick's Day. My husband quit drinking many many years ago and told the doctor "I don't drink ". The doctor basically said ya right, and he said again I don't drink. Its so frustrating when Doctors don't listen. So i just wanted to share what we've figured out over the years. He gets flare up anytime he "over does" anything. A vitamin, coffee, pop, sugary treats.... too much of one thing.
    Take Care

      @TheGrandma02 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I agree about the doctors assuming things, I have told and will continue to tell the doctors I deal with that I know my body, and my habits; just because alcohol is one of the main things that trigger gout doesn't mean that is what caused the gout. You have to be your own advocate when it comes to your health.

  • @Paula_KentuckyRed

Before I looked at comments, my first thought was gout. My Mom had it for years her pain was exactly as you described.
Her big triggers were fried foods, pork and sausage. I’m sure it varies from person to person. I’ve seen people of all ages with gout 🤷🏼‍♀️. If finances and insurance permit, I would request a rheumatologist consult and maybe an allergist, if the rheumatologist doesn’t do allergy / immunology bloodwork.
The worst part is not knowing what you have so you can take appropriate precautions to avoid foods or environmental factors that cause negative responses.
If I may make a suggestion, keep a food diary of everything you eat, if you have another flare up, it will be helpful to both you and your doctor ‼️
    Take care 🫶🏼

I’ve had trigger finger in both hands at the same time that lasted a couple months. No pain just couldn’t use hands like normal. I’ve also experienced horrible foot pain that was more plantar fasciitis so I made sure I walked on my outer feet more to help with the pain. I did notice over time my feet were turning slightly inward so I think it was effecting my feet. I had to retrain my walk. Also, certain shoes are not good so I always wear an arch support now. Flats are not good. A lot of people have surgery but I chose to correct it myself.

Melanie I am so sorry you are experiencing all these weird things. BUT..... I had Covid so bad I was just a breath away from death.... It took me close to a year to recover just a little bit. That horrible virus has caused so many different illnesses within our bodies. I've heard some pretty devastating stories of how bad it has affected so many people. I myself struggled with brain issues. Trouble thinking straight, speech, very dizzy. I went to so many Dr's to hear we just haven't gotten into how bad Covid has damaged people. I suffer from severe neuropathy, fibromyalgia, and arthritis. Which to tell you the truth worsened after Covid. I am in pain 24-7 day after day after day. I hate it. I used to be so active. I am single and i'm 71 yrs young and I make myself do things. Because I don't want to lose what's left of my body by staying down. I've had 3 back surgeries, 2 hip replacements and a number of other surgeries no need to mention. 😂😂.
My heart goes out to you because sweetie you are TOO YOUNG to have to deal with whatever is going on. Unfortunately the Dr's can't give a reason why, because a lot of the time they don't know or can't figure it out. And it's not their fault.
I will add you to my prayer list, you too Gary because the struggle is very real. As you keep saying take it one day at a time. May the Lord keep his hand of protection on you and your family. Much love to you. Grammy from Arizona 🌵🧑‍🦳🏜️🙏❤️

It normally strikes the big toe and just to touch it will blow your mind with pain however it can show up at any joint in the body finger knees whatever. Seafood products are hard on the system and also alcohol and wine. I have learned how to cheat and have some of that occasionally. I do have a medication in case of an attack within days it's subsides. I've also had shingles got me in the eye and although they tell you that it cannot come back you can get the symptoms.. there is a shot for shingles and suggest you get the shot and also Gary. Mel check your genealogy, look at the members of your family. If any of them have arthritis it's possible you could have it. It does not discriminate. Also having covid which is like pneumonia effects your body. I never got covid but growing up as a child I had pneumonia 14 times. My body is totally wrecked. Also my Dr wanted me to get the shingles vaccine because of my age and as soon as I took it I got it. Now my nerve endings are so sensitive.
