Clark said it himself... what’s the point of doing what he does if he lost his sense on how to live it. So you may not like Lois, which is your priority but it does change her importance to Clark Kent and kal-el. This happened in Superman vs. Batman too. But to each their own.
Such a great scene that foreshadows what we saw with Lois and Clark in season 10. Lois is the key, she keeps Superman grounded and isn't afraid to tell him when he is wrong lol!! She also inspires him to fly!! What a dame!!

Gotta love the reference to the Silver Age here. It's kinda odd though considering Superman WAS a Golden Age character, heck he was the FIRST superhero!
I think the Superman that we know and love really came into light during the Silver Age. The Golden Age was like the late 30s going into the very early 40s right? Superman couldn't fly, he was way more gruff and edgy. A lot of his powers weren't really cemented or clear either. Clark Kent also didn't work at the Daily Planet under Perry White. Aside from that, Clark Kent also did not grow up being raised by Jonathan or Martha Kent. In Action Comics #1 it is described that Clark was found and dropped off at an orphanage. The Kryptonians also were just super advanced beings who had biology millions of years advanced to our own , which caused them to be naturally strong, fast and resilient wherever they went. The Yellow Sun-Red Sun rule wasnt added til the Silver Age. In short while you are correct ... I think the true version of the character that we think of today really came about from the Silver Age which is why it is the most commonly referenced. It also adopted the modern S logo and Superman costume. It is also the primary inspiration for the Chris Reeves Superman films of the 70s and 80s which is what a lot of people who havent read the comics automatically think of as the definitive interpretation.

Oh man I wished there were more scenes between Lois & Dr. Fate. I replayed this scene between them over and over because it's hilarious. These two would've been the one in the back of the JSA & JLA meetings just looking at one another like, "Really? Are they serious?" I could see it now man. Oh what could've been.
Smallville will never be equalled , they handled every guest superhero and story line brilliantly. At first I felt a little cheated with the ending , due to not seeing more of Clark in the suit, on reflection I figured he had done everything superman does during the show without the suit on. I now appreciate the ending more , bittersweet, no more smallville but finishing at probably the right time and moment. Dc had such a great show there I believe it made a good superman movie impossible. How can u give us a multilayered Clark character in 2 hrs we all grew to love over 10 seasons . Cavill is ok but he’s hardly ever Clark in the movies , so I find it hard to warm to the character!!!!

I love how whenever the JSA are introduced in media it’s the fact that they’re forced in the narrative so abruptly. Like “oh, the world is full of heroes now? Well we can come out as the first ones mf” Like it’s not subtle and shit but that’s what I loved about it. They were before the Justice League and their presence alone symbolizes a world beyond what we know and have seen
This really makes me wish that Smallville and Gotham had coexisted in the same universe at the same time. This mirrors the scene where Bruce was under the influence of Ivy's hallucinogen and met his future self, The Batman.
I love how he thanked her for the helmet compliment.
