Great video as always Jon. Was a joy to sit behind you at Barston for a while looking snazzy with all your new gear . Even passing bits you couldn’t reach 😁 well in 👍🏻
As always Jon a great upload..thanks. In the Matrix clan now, same as another of my respected anglers Jamie Harrison, both of you make great youtube vids...and long may it continue.
Welcome back Jon with nice new kit too brill video as usual thanks for sharing thoroughly enjoyed it. Question as I'm nosey is that rest all taped up for landing net ?
Nice one Jon, near miss tho’ but like you said you can’t complain. A change of sponsor but that looks like your old pole! Does this mean you no longer work for Drennan? I have never fished Tunnel Barn but is it usual for F1’s to be caught in close, or is that just a fisheries thing? Regards Bill
Lots of F1s are caught this close in on a lot of venues I know. Yep still using my old pole at the mo. Soon be getting a much better one in the shape of the MTX4 though. Cannot wait!!
Jon Arthur Angling Hi Jon thank you for the answer a lot don’t bother. Now if the new pole is a lot better than the old one, then it must be superb! The old model was top of the tree, if not the strongest so I will be watching your future video’s with great interest to see the pole in action. For beginners I still recommend the beginners pole you tested on Alders Farm after several years. Guess my old Daiwa is long overdue for replacement! After 20 years service! Look forward to the next video regards Bill
Hi mate never been tunnel barn fishery . What's it like there and whats the best pools to fish for a days pleasure fishing Any tips would be great cheers
Nice Jon well done coming 3rd, i guess Perch are a nuisance in match fishing as they're always small but still nice to catch a few in a pleasure session (would be amazing to catch one of a pound or more, match or pleasure session). Could you tell me why you fished those certain baits on the different lines? i understand you fish caster shallow because they're so buoyant is that right? why do you fish pellets over casters? and why did you switch to maggots?
I fished casters as they're my favourite bait for shallow fishing and I've got a good record with them on that pool, even coming an agonising 2nd on a Fishomania qualifier this year fishing that way! Pellets down the side are a better bet as they are more selective and won't attract the little fish so easily, but maggots in the last hour is often good as thats when the better fish tend to arrive down the edge and start to bully the nuisance little perch away!
Because I like to gamble and take calculated risks in smaller matches. Sometimes it pays off handsomely and in my experience you can sometimes ramp up a weight fishing groundbait and maggot in the last hour.
Well its always good to try different things and i know i have caught really well over groundbait in the margins. Do you target the margins much during the winter when its really cold?
Great to see you back and in the new colours aswell congratulations on the deal 🎣

All the pools fish similar, so take your pick. I quite like House and Club
Can I use 6-8 slik elastic for tench and bream as well as the odd carp?
Absolutely!
What elastic was you using Jon was it blue hydro
Think it was back then yes, but wouldI've probably been on Slik if it was now.

Yes at venues like Tunnel Barn most definitely

I hate ducks!
