I definitely appreciated your very straightforward review. Love St Augustine but traffic and crowds really do impact your visit. I'm a FL native from Orlando so I have definitely learned to not take "Instagram Versions" of travel reviews seriously. Keep enjoying your FL adventures.🔆
We live in S FLA. went to St Aug last week. Beautiful city especially with all the Christmas lights. It’s my 4 th time there and there’s more to it than downtown. Very touristy. Also, it’s cold in early January, 20 degrees colder than down south. Traffic and parking is ridiculous…Uber is the way to go.
I went to Flagler College in the 1970's. I lived on campus for 3 years, and then lived in St.Augustine for 40 years. I taught at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, which was founded in the 1885 and has a whole campus full of historical buildings. I lived on the FSDB campus for a year. My husband was a US History teacher in St Augustine Schools for 35 years and, for a while, worked alone,at night, at the Lighthouse. Our daughter went to Flagler, and lived on campus for 4 years, from 2000 to 2004. Of course, we also know MANY people who lived and worked at Flagler College, FSDB and the Lighthouse. The 'Ghost Stories' business in St.Augustine is so annoying. Literally, NONE of it is true. Not one person who we know, including ourselves, has ever seen or heard a ghost, and we even have friends who lived right next door to the cemetary in downtown St.Augustine! There is SO much authentic history in St. Augustine. I would suggest that people not waste their money on anything to do with supposed ghosts, in St Augustine.
Great video! Thanks sharing!
We visited twice and loved it!
