In my opinion NBA2K19 is a good game but I really hope that post scoring is changed for 2K20. In this video we show everything wrong with the post game by abusing the post speedboost, dominating with takeover made animations and shooting green 3's despite having a 50 3 pointer. What would you like to see changed for NBA2K20?
I think the takeover should stay but less op animations. spinning a defender off or shoving them is a lil insane. I think if you get a good timing and can make threes then good for u. We see now in the nab more "stretch" post making threes. Dirk always has no porzingis embiid, brooke lopez even.
Remove records entirely. Make the park rep like 17. Make takeover harder to get. Patch base 24 so lockdowns don’t shoot 7/7 from the from the top of the key and limitless. And crack down on delaying.
At this point Lockdowns are the most op build.. they have the best defense and they can shoot consistently now from anywhere along with slashing dunks..

2K should have actual archetypes like NBA live and instead of takeover they have icons that resemble someone really good that plays like their archetype and gives them a boost depending on that icon like NBA live. For example a archetype could be Athletic Playmaker SF which could resemble lebron and the icon boost could be every assist adds a stackable boost to finishing at the rim or Low post star could resemble shaq and the boost could be scoring in the post adds a stackable boost to blocking and contesting shots and the rim.
Ya Boi Gigs that’s what made the game great tho, there were alot of guards who knew how to dribble. This year out of 10 games u play like 2 playmakers. The rest are lockdowns or stretch bigs.

I played that guy in the park. Played with some random and had him down 17-4 with play sharp takeover and then they do some weird inbound glitch where it gives them the ball immediately. And to add to that they were running double centers. Toxic.
What makes post scores even more annoying is they get dimmer silver, so if u try to help ur mate because the opponent has post takeover, u can have a lockdown shooting lights out in the corner, and that lock can still go crazy on D
only slashers will agree but slashers are the worst arch in the game due to the fact that layups are treated like a J like if i have a 96 driving lay and HOF relentless like a lightly lay should 9.9999/10 but iys treated like a sharp shooting a lightly like shooting from 25ft it compleatly different from a 6 inch shot where your hand is right next to the rim. ...... also contact dunks are never garenteed like you have to not only get the animation, not only make sure they can not jump outta it and block you (you should not be able to jump out of a contact dunk) and finally you have to make it but thats like a 40 to 20% chance
100%agree, I spent 3 months on playing my career games for grind him (shot creating slasher) up to 84 and I then I bought gold subscription and started playing at the park and it is just broken.... Due to this last week i made a playmaking shot creator
also i just wanna say that i dont think just having shot creator as the main arch should give you park dunks like playmakers have both flashy dribbles and ankle breakers but slashers only have contact dunks like give shots some tomahawks and basic 360s but as a slasher on the break i should be able to do something crazy but its not crazy if every other build but sharps can do the SAME dunks as a slasher it makes a crazy dunk so common and its gotten to the point where normal nba dunks are bettwr than park dunks

locks were made good to counter all the other cheese. can guard posts & guards and allow for a reliable shot in corner. all the better locks can shoot all around the key but i mean even in the nba you can’t just leave people wide open. considering the way the nba is evolving to being a 3 point heavy league it only makes sense to make greens a key factor for all builds regardless of the shot percent. at the end of the day if your a non shooting build and don’t green most are prepared to miss. some people like defensive builds and if they know they’re shot then reward them. it’s not hard to get a lightly contest & stop a green lol
pure posts can shit on every build in the game between post cheese, drop step cheese, the animation reaction time for a hop fade, and obviously takeover. it’s only right to reward defensive builds this year when there’s offensive builds that OP. if defensive builds got nerfed then the offense would be too good in the game
Joe i gotta disagree with you a little bit. The only reason it destroys the balance of the game is because post scoring is so under rated in the game. People bring BS builds out there because they don’t run into many post scorers in the game. How often do you see this build. Against a pure rim it would be even. It’s only overpowered because people take short cuts. I do agree they shouldn’t be shooting threes tho. They have to change that garbage
In 2k20 I would love to see 2k17 dribbling. I think a simple addition of that system this game would make it so fun. In 2k17, glass cleaners could do playmaker stepbacks. It was fun, but it wasn’t OP because playmakers still had the best dribbling AND it took a lot more skill. I just feel like there were so many more combos that u could do and it was less predictable than 2k19
Things to be fixed in 2K20: 1) Post Scorer TakeOver NERF 2) Sharpshooter TakeOver CONTEST buff. 3) Rim Protector Buff / Block increase 4) Shot Creator Ball Handling Slight Buff 5) Playmaker Layup increase 6) Chase Down Block BUFF / increase the XP given 7) Being able to EARN certain badges dependent on the archetype based on if you ACTUALLY do the moves. - for examples, Difficult Shots would have a sub category of Euro, Hop Step, Fade Ace, Spin Jumper, Acrobat and Floater Badges that are only earned if that’s actually part of your play style (like 2K17, badge cap dependent on the build) 8) Help Defense/Screen Defense Buff 9) Standing Dunk Buff for players, especially bigs, that are significantly bigger than their defenders 10) Fading 3 NERF
I think they need to get rid of the special animations you get in takeover, somehow fix the post drive speedboost cheese, and shorten the range on hop fades. Nobody in the NBA is hittin hop fades from damn near the 3 point line

Tbh the fact that all arcs can shoot somewhat expands the skill gap imo. Bums cant shoot on non shooting arcs so skill players can use more versatile arcs and still get to shoot. I just don't think locks and slashers and rebounders should get such high 3 ratings. Should be like 30-40 imo so it's even harder
Post scores should get like a 60 cuz they are shooting builds. Joel embid, Al horford, Blake Griffin, Paul Millsap live in the post but they still shoot jumpers from time to timr

They’ll definitely rework the takeover system next year tho, since they do every year for no reason.

Bending Tables That’s the problem. Players should get “hot” based off of EVERYTHING they do, not just what they’re archetype is. A rebound on a pure stretch and a 3 pointer made on a pure glass cleaner should both add to their takeovers relatively equally. An assist on a pure playmaker should give as much to the takeover as a pure rim protector getting an assist. It actually makes the game more unbalanced than it should be. Ever play with a slashing shot creator and ALL they wanna do is dunk and shoot off dribbles, and they never wanna PASS the ball? Well, that’s why they won’t pass; they don’t get takeover by simply making the RIGHT basketball play. They get hot based off their archetype. They will surely be reworking the takeover system next game because it’s definitely flawed.
Add Playmaker with Anklebreaker badge. There is no defense at all if you are lying on the floor. Playmakers are the only Archetype who can eliminate two defenders in this way at the same time.
I lost my build after losing connection to the servers. Honestly that's been happening for a while in multiple games. I can stomach bs gameplay but I can't stomach losing my time as my player vanishes
I have played way too many glass cleaners, rim protectors, and just about any build who are just pulling from three and greening them. I think maybe they shouldn't be able to hit greens from that range or just make the shooting a little worse. idk i just don't want this to carry over into 2k20

The points you made are fair, but what about playmakers who can literally put you on the floor with some animations and slashers with guaranteed blow bys. I feel like they tried to balance it they best they could so I actually like the takeover system. I also think the game just rewards you for knowing your shot. I can put a new shot on a pure sharp and get half bars, but someone like tyceno who’s been using trey burke shot for awhile can green anything he wanted. I feel like if he put that shot on a lockdown he could get greens all the time too. So I think 2k just rewards you for knowing you shot, so if you can green with a lock, aye more power to you
any build should be able toshoot, but only good players of course, if u have an absolute perfect release it should go in, the problem with a lock is, if u barely mess ur release up u miss, u shoot a half bar with a stretch, half the time it goes in, so I think its balanced, but post scorers ARE way to overpowered.
People should only be able to consistently shoot 3s with a 70 or higher because it makes it so there are some builds that can shoot but not literally every build so a pure play or something can actually shoot better than a lock
I played a postscorer 6 times on 2s literally two days ago and kept beating him and he got mad and said I only beat him because I didn’t let him get takeover and because his diff. Shots badge was only bronze...even though all his primary badges were HOF
If you could find a 99 post scoring stretch four it’s a insane 99 build in my opinion one of the best just look at the badges at 99 primary stretch secondary post
I think they went too far on how well non shooting builds can shoot. I think if you’re in the NBA, you should be able to hit an open 3 a decent amount of the time. But like I got a shot creating post and I’ll green post hop shot 3’s without takeover and fading/stepback 3’s on takeover. I also shouldn’t be able to green from half court on the 3’s court but I did twice in one week.
1 more thing Glass cleaners post scorers slashers basically any build that couldn't shoot if you had hotspots and all the bronze shooting badges in 17 you was greening so that ain't new either it's never gonna change
The problem with 2k is the community keeps abusing and exploiting things and since the devs dont instantly update and fix it the community goes hard on them, the community does go too hard on the devs but you always have players who wanna exploit everything that can benefit them
I do believe this is a good game. I think it is some of the community that causes the problem. They try to exploit anything possible and also complain about something until 2k changes it and puts the odds in their favor in order to please them

I played a postscorer 6 times on 2s literally two days ago and kept beating him and he got mad and said I only beat him because I didn’t let him get takeover and because his diff. Shots badge was only bronze...even though all his primary badges were HOF
If you could find a 99 post scoring stretch four it’s a insane 99 build in my opinion one of the best just look at the badges at 99 primary stretch secondary post

I think they went too far on how well non shooting builds can shoot. I think if you’re in the NBA, you should be able to hit an open 3 a decent amount of the time. But like I got a shot creating post and I’ll green post hop shot 3’s without takeover and fading/stepback 3’s on takeover. I also shouldn’t be able to green from half court on the 3’s court but I did twice in one week.

Glass cleaners post scorers slashers basically any build that couldn't shoot if you had hotspots and all the bronze shooting badges in 17 you was greening so that ain't new either it's never gonna change

The problem with 2k is the community keeps abusing and exploiting things and since the devs dont instantly update and fix it the community goes hard on them, the community does go too hard on the devs but you always have players who wanna exploit everything that can benefit them

If guards can speed boost I’m glad they let post scorers speed boost too. Neither is real life but it levels the playing field in a game.

I do believe this is a good game. I think it is some of the community that causes the problem. They try to exploit anything possible and also complain about something until 2k changes it and puts the odds in their favor in order to please them
