Windy - along with his colleagues on “The Hoop Collective” podcast - is one of the hardest working guy in the business. This time of year, they often start out the show by saying something like, “It’s just after 2:00 am here in _____ city, and I’ve got a flight to _____ city in four hours.” Thanks Dan & Danettes for having him on - and thanks Brian for putting in all those late night hours. Those of us who wake up & enjoy listening to your recaps of last night’s games appreciate the effort.
I’m sure the money they make off this is thanks enough but I echo your sentiments. Been a longtime listener and always grateful for the pod. Makes life at work on fridays that much easier
There is precedent for ejecting a player for throwing an object in the court - last year Jan 11, Dewayne Dedmon threw a massage gun onto the court and was then ejected.
In Rugby it's called the Television Match Official (TMO). Yes, they (TMO) would go back and buz the Ref and award a missed penalty after the fact. Mostly the Ref would stop the game and inquire from the TMO if there was an infraction. Remember this is game that hardly stops for even an injury. Penalties are not limited to certain infractions, the review covers anything that happens on the pitch. I don't remember ever seen a bad call that was not reversed. They seem to get it correct every time. We definitely need this in NFL and maybe in NBA as well.
Man...that guy is drowning himself in whatever he is eating and not exercising. I don't care what your passion is in life, you're suffocating yourself Windy. Make a change. If you're struggling with it mentally, you have got to get an accountability coach. It's awful to see you getting bigger and bigger. No way you're happy guy. Choose to change. You won't regret it.
Not reviewable BUT there's two other officials AND the head scorer at the table...the view I saw on replay, several times, was the same view..from the left side of the play...I'VE OFFICIATED A LOT...and You're told in training to become an official... DON'T GUESS...MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE PLAY....So, from my angle, from my couch, I didn't see if the ball hit the defender's knee...ALSO, the rule is , INTENTIONALLY KICKING... didn't appear he did that...✌️😁
Within 5 Seconds of the first replay we knew that was not a kickball why can't we have a ref in the booth just say something and correct the mistake? The answer is so simple and they all act like it's splitting the atom.
He is correct. "I" have to live with it, but, "WE" don't have to watch. If they called the game according to the rules, there would be fewer disputes. Call those double dribbles and travels. Call the blocks and charges. I watched a rugby scrum last night and the other game was a ticky-tack game changer. Confucius says, "If the (leader) follows all the rituals, then many peasants will flock to his fields."
Jamal Murray looked into his inner...... Patrick Beverly and Bob Knight. He thought that he was the trainer in Rocky 4......." Throw in the Towel, Throw in the Damn Towel because the Minnesota Timberwolves are Drago and the Denver Nuggets are Apollo Creed. Jamal Murray threw a pad instead of the towel.
Thanks, Windy...indeed, those who insist LBJ is behind the coaching fires/hires is naive. He was a big backer of Ham, btw. Does his opinion matter? Of course, but team pays the GM big bucks to make the hires and fires (with acceptance of ownership)...the way it works.
Question 1: ahh the garden? Remember the 90s lol Q2: refs: horrible and inconsistent, either call everything or let them play. The way Knicks game was called and nuggets right after was jarring! Q3: how about adding one ref always at mid court because the refs are always kinda moving.. so 3 refs plus 1; staying at half court to always have eyes on the play. Maybe ? Q4: (windy, we have seen heating pad before lol) Murray now feels the frustration the lakers felt with their whistle last series. Murray should be both fined and unfortunately a game suspension Q5: there’s not a lot of options; who does the rambis want is the real question? Wow windy, tell your employer all that about lebron lol
A call that’s “not reviewable” is pretty ridiculous. If you’re gonna have review, review it all and get it right. It’s pretty easy to see if a guy kicks a ball or not. The moving screen call was atrocious as well and it was reviewable? Either way that call was gonna be a judgement call and the ref was never gonna say mia culpa. Inconsistencies all around and bad calls.
The only difference between The Garden now & 25yrs ago is it's a nicer dump... but it's still a dump. There's literally 15-20 nicer venues in the NBA, if not more. The reason The Garden is beloved is it's the same building the Knicks have played in for decades, but it's got a newer interior PS: it's nice to hear a simp for the refs admit they hosed the Pacers & cost em the game, but that doesn't change the fact that the Pacers are down 1-0 bcuz of atrocious officiating... somebody should check if that ref had money on the game bcuz the same ref made both of those calls(iirc)
I come from NY. What people don't realize is Bball is the game EVERYONE plays in NY. We all understand how to play. The whole state is Bball. Today's Kings and 76"ers started in Rochester and Syracuse. Clipper's were in Buffalo. At my college we had 64 intramaurel taems at a small univwrsity. Modern basketball started in NY. It was dominated by Jewish people. Red Aurbach, Red Holtzman and larry Brown are from Brooklyn. Modern moving without the ball is from Jewish people. Kareem Abdul's father and Red Holtznan were hand ball champs in NY.
@@Gnofg I get that, and I played high school ball in Indiana. My thing is the amount of people who know nothing about basketball, that also overlap a lot with Knicks fans, is quite a bit, especially the most vocal ones on twitter. The officiating was a trainwreck last night for both teams, but as Carlisle said, "We weren't going to get the calls here" was not an understatement. I think it's more of the twitter knicks fans, than the ones paying $$$$$ to go to the games, that I have a problem with, because even my generalization was wrong
@@zbarnettnba The nugget’s beat inferior competition last year. Barely.500 teams and 3 of the 4 were play-in. The first time they faced real competition they folded like a cheap suit. They gave up. Can you imagine MJ giving up?

I gotta give these guys a ton of credit who make their living talking about and analyzing these pro sports teams and leagues. They 100% know the games are rigged and that there will never be any accountability re the officiating because that is the arm the leagues use to manipulate narratives and outcomes yet they talk about it as though it's 100% legit. Absolute professionals.
He only has a job because of lebron. He’ll never trash lebron just like no former players or coach will because they’ll never have a job in the league again. He did give us some insight that he’s a horrible fake teammate at the end though.
I love hear Wendy try to describe to us what a heating pad is and how it works. Great reporting

Mr. Brian Windhorst a man of integrity. /tip my hat.

Windy. Is as important to the NBA as the top 15 stars.
I mean that was the most agregious thing I have seen by a player. He should be suspended multiple games…there’s 0 justification. They broke him.
