- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 21 ต.ค. 2024
- In this video I'll be melting over 2KG of scrap copper and tin and casting a huge golden katana. I 3d printed the katana first and sand cast the model in petrobond sand. After casting the solid bronze katana and ingot, I sanded them both up and polished them with a mirror finish . I hope you all are staying safe and healthy and enjoy this video! This katana took a lot of sanding and grinding but was worth every bit. Have a great weekend and feel free to ask questions 👍🏻
What 3d printer do you recommend?
I use the Robo R1+ and it works great! I’ve heard great things about the Ender and a few others but I can only speak for what I’ve personally used. I’d say for a budget get the “Ender 3”
I watch that all the time 😉 there should be a “casting in fire” show and I would much rather go on that 👍🏻
That was awesome!
this might be my first comment on one of your videos, but I would appreciate if you were to make a bronze casted slingshot.
I was hoping that you were going to cast a set of boxing gloves and that they would be close to full scale and not tiny . Oh well , maybe one day.
It’s still insane to me to see how far you’ve come Adam. From sitting at PT’s & talking about it, to seeing you actually doing what you like to do! Sooo dope! Hope all is well!
Thanks love!! I miss you and your entire family! We gotta get together soon and go camping again 👍🏻
ArtByAdrock always down!
🙄🙄🙄
???.. ;-;
Technically that’s a Wakazashi, not a Katana, due to length. Not your fault, bad description from wherever you got the pattern. Beautiful piece. I’m collecting everything for melting and casting, so thanks for the videos. You and Bigstack D got me addicted lol
Really turned out beautiful. I enjoyed watching your video .
I dont know why but I addicted to watching forging...my favourite program is forge in fire..

I'm too
Same here bruh😆😁
Guys stay safe inside your house
I only love to watch the kill test
Dude, i'm from Brazil and I LOVE your channel. I have an suggestion: make an lord of the rings bilbo's sword or an lightsaber hilt

The sound of the hammer hitting the sand in this start is so satisfying
Hear it again but in 2x speed
Salute to this guy for doing It all on his bed
For some reason I find this satisfying
You are a artist bro
Last scene was epic
Your videos are always satisfying to watch.
Only I realized that the katana, which he did just like the maomao.

@@SPospo-fp2ut yes, maomao is from Cartoon Network
You are amazing man you better know that no viewer is going to make such a katana but you are telling everything step by step
Great looking work. Awesome video as always!
The boom in the water was nuts. Great looking sword and ingot!
ADAM THATS A BEAUTIFUL KATANA you made looks incredible I really thought for sure you would have to do it a second time cuz it did not look like right but then Wham-O turned out AWESOME and good to see fix-it Felix working again lmfao 🇨🇦😎👍🇨🇦😎👍🇨🇦😎👍
😍
I have been waiting for someone to do tin bronze. I wanted to see the color. Looks good. I will also mention that I'm jealous of your weather. Don't make us wait a whole week for another vid. Release another please!
One of your best pieces in my opinion great sword

Bronze is Such My Favorite Metal
Thank you for telling us what kind of sand you used!!
😀😄
Cast a copper Leviathan axe please I always wanted to see you do that it would make my day to see you do that
Holy Frijoles, that was worth the wait. Just a tad worried when pour didn't start coming up on the other side, but I should have known better. Thank you for sharing the creation of your amazing Katana. What a beauty and you are so appreciated! 👍
Thank you 🙏 I was a little concerned myself which is half the reason I kept pouring. Very happy with the results though 👍🏻
@@ArtByAdrock Ahhh, but you did well Grasshopper.
Bronze always looks amazing 👏👍
This was sweet! Your videos have helped me start casting my own channel. I've been looking at casting a bronze sword. Did you work harden the blade?
No I didn’t. It’s not really necessary as this is hard as a rock after casting 👍🏻
Thanks
It's looks really sharp does it stay sharp?
It is definitely necessary to work harden the blade after casting. For this I don’t think it’s that big of a deal because clearly this is more of an artistic piece rather than an actual weapon, however if you wanted to actually use this you would need to work harden it. Bronze also isn’t a very practical material for a katana, it’s still cool though. Good job!
the sound ( 7:42 min.) of the bars pleases me ;) Make a Bronze with 22% Tin and 78% Copper and cast a little bell😁
The katana turned out great. I'm very curious, though, about the rough side of the remelted brass ingot. When you poured it really looked like lumps of something came out. At first I wondered if they were unmelted tin but of course that couldn't be the case. Might have it been slag? Did I imagine it?
Bubbles of gases trapped in the metal (I believe)
too short to be a katana
The color of the sword is so dope
Wow, looks stunning !
😍
I never knew that the actual combination of Bronze would be copper and tin, that katana surely turned out great, nice video :) .
😍
Very cool! As always!
A KATANA(刀) is cool.
The finish is the best.
I am always cheering for you from Japan.
I'm considering making a guitar neck out of copper, how much larger than final product should I make the mold so it's right after sanding? (Sorry for the confusing sentence, I can't think of a better way to say that.)
KATANA?! THATS IMBOSSIBLE
Art by as adrock: burns the heated tin and copper in the WOODEN box
Me: OMG 😱
Awesome work. You are definitely the most "arty" and skilled of the bunch.
😍👍
This quarantine has me solid waiting for new videos! Keep em coming I can’t get enough!
😍😍👍
Crappy pun
THX for all the pleasur you gave me
Perfect!!!! Never expected anything less!!
😍
Ey but what can it cut thru vato
Its a beautiful sword should have made some throwing stars to go with it .
I've been meaning to ask. How are you setting up your sectioned prints, are you creating to image pre divided or are you separating them during the slicing process?
A...ayo.... when you poured the ingot after casting the katana in looked like that one material Han Solo was frozen in, I think it was Carbonite lol
My fav part is the meltong the bronze when using that spray its satisfaying
sweet letter opener! Great video!
Mate you make great video's.... keep them coming !!
How come you not hanging out with bigstack anymore? Love yall ! Cheer m8!
I'll admit you had me during the pour... ;) turned out amazing.
Hi
Yo same
Dude it looks like gold
Are there metallic particles evaporating in the air? if so, is it toxic?
there are and they are
Lenght of the blade makes it closer than a wakisashi. 😁
Noticed too.
Very nice!!!
5:25 by the same creators of the last of us now we have *THE LAST OF COPPER*
I hope you read my comment because its very complex and will be a lot of fun. You should make a Atlantean katana…how to make Atlantean metal? Use copper, gold, and zinc. Or you can scratch the zinc and use silver but zinc is specifically used.
These rings remind me of bigstackd
Suppet
We’re good friends and have a lot of the same sponsors. If you watched older videos you would see us melting together 😉
The Katana came out great. I hate it when you pour like that and have a little spot freeze up and cause the metal to pour out in 2 or 3 streams and go all over the place like that. I think the crinkle that forms on the top as the metal freezes is awesome. Great work again this week, keep it up and Stay Safe. 🍻🍻🍻🐺🐺🐺
Cool sword thank you for another amazing video.
Question and suggestion, When you make the molds pour holes. Have you ever thought about cutting a soda pop bottle top so it makes an indent funnel so you don't get over pour or have you tried it and didn't work? Love the videos keep it up.
I feel like that plastic would melt
Nice joke mate
ArtByAdrock: We ain't no keeping this 3D Model Red Katana, we need to make it *bronze*
Me: I WANT DAT 3D MODEL KATANA I DON'T CARE!
Why katana is not too expensive and that katana is litle bit short

Work of art as usual!!
😍😍👍
Dude the last of the copper melting was sweet! It was like a snowflake on a tongue!!!
I'd be perfectly happy with the red one. Just saying.😂😂😂
My concern is why did he create his mold in the bed tho
I thought that too. 😅
@@sushiibird7799
What do you mean by "create the mold in the bed"?
@@HighlanderNorth1 the thing he used to pour the hot metal in to shape the katana. Like clay molds are usually done outdoors like garages, not indoors and especially, not on top of your clean bed
Looks great! You probably should have made a riser for the inlet.
It all started with bigstackD melting his house and now i'm here.
Sr. Santana That’s how it started for me
Vice versa for me it started with a beer can melt on this channel, and on the watch next there was a copper melt by bigstackd
Sr. Santana is this bigstackd?
Same here
Lol
That's some hard work man

Sword looks beautiful. We need more weapons!
How well would a bronze Katana hold up in one singlr sword fight against steel ?
Sick video bro...nice work as always. I had an interesting idea if it hasn’t been done yet. What about the cube (puzzle box) from the movie Hellraiser?
I love the movie! I’ll look into that 👍🏻
Very nice.. but is that an illuminutti confirmation?

That katana turned out great, I would love to see it against a watermelon. Keep it going man!
Nicely done. It harkens back to the bronze age of Japan ;)

I like how he edited the video "l wasn't expecting that" XD
Hey @ArtByAdrock, I just recently bought a foundry myself
Sand on a 🛏️!
And then by mistake he pours the lava on his own ✋
Very nice good job brother
I was drinking a green 40oz of Mickey's malts liquor, I was wondering if u can make a ingot out of green 40oz of Mickey's malt liquor
This is so cool!!!
Cool thing is, Bronze was used to make weapons WELL before we figured out Iron . . . which makes that sword quite serviceable as a weapon.
Are there better ones? Sure.
Does that make this beauty any less dangerous? NOPE.
Form AND Function, combined together . . . Now THAT'S Art!
You normally put some rope around the handle for grip, and not cling on to some paint on bare bronze
Freakin beautiful!
How about a copper gargoyle casting?
😍😍
I like it I was wondering if u tested all your weapons?
Please let me borrow your devil forge for a couple weeks! 😁😁
That is really heavy but beutifull piece of work
