Drug abuse makes people undependable. The sad songs he wrote for the album, 7800 degrees Fahrenheit were written when he was heartbroken. He was dating the actress. Diane Lane, but he was missing his high school sweetheart doretha. By the time this video is made, the New Jersey tour, he was happily married to her and still is today. His son Jake is getting married to Millie Bobby Brown from stranger things. Boy are those going to be some amazing kids! I have the pleasure of seeing them live five times, by far, the five best concerts I've ever seen. And I've seen well over 150 concerts in my life. He is also an incredible philanthropist, he has a restaurant that provides free meals to people in need and they can donate to charity or work washing dishes if they want to pay for their meal. He's just simply one of the good guys. Very nice reaction though, you guys did a great job and I could feel how much the music I have loved since 1983 inspires you.

At the height of their popularity Bon Jovi played 300 shows a year. 300 a year. Think about that. I think the lyrics explain "I play for keeps, 'cause I might not make it back". Fame is fleeting that's for sure but this video shows the exhaustion of doing THAT many shows a year. Hats off to Bon Jovi for playing all out ALL of the time for their fans. A great, great live band!!!!!

Eventually Jon Bon Jovi needed to get away and find himself. He left the band, Jersey, and his high school sweetheart, and just rode his motorcycle on PCH IN California, up along the coast. Then he wrote and made songs for the movie Young Guns, with a some help from Richie Sambora, and his music friend Aldo Nova, who did the keyboard on the song Runaway (recorded).
Great song/video and one of the best of the 80's. This song (the lyrics) remind me of Bob Seger's Turn the Page- same subject matter and another great road-weary artist song.
Bon Jovi toured endlessly back in the day each one was usually a ridiculous 300+ shows. By the time the mid 90s hit they were just a pop radio band not the old Bonjovi that rocked every show.

A steel "horse" would actually be considered a Motorcycle. Not a tour bus. You normally ride a horse solo. But occasionally you can have a passenger holding on behind you. Just like a Motorcycle. Saddle up!

The only true definition of a "Steel" horse IS a motorcycle. Not an RV or airplane or anything like that. Motorcycles have saddles. The lyrics of the song are talking about being wanted.... "Dead Or Alive"... just like the wild, wild, west.... when people rode HORSES. Not tour busses, and airplanes. Not ALL songs are about the persons actually personal situation and lifestyle. They write about stories of others.... and the journey. Don't try to sound smarter then you really are. Anyone who rides motorcycles, KNOW that motorcycles are nicknamed "Steel Horses"
