Dude, I spend almost two months watching one episode a day of the Marineford arc for two months expecting Ace to live. I was nine when I watch him die and it's the first time ever that I cried for an anime character's death.

頂上決戰真的是海賊王最沉痛也最悲壯的篇章，雖然少了魯夫以外的其他主要夥伴，卻成功揭示了海賊王故事的高度與發展的境界，白鬍子和艾斯的戰死固然悲痛，但紅髮傑克最後說：「不論是最大的悲痛，還是最大的喜悅，你(魯夫)都必須嘗過，才能成就你完整的人生。」吉貝爾也對魯夫說：「人不能一直想著自己失去什麼，要想想自己還有什麼....」，這兩句台詞至今仍難以忘懷，現在想來仍擲地有聲，真就是經典啊！

I don't hate Garp since I understand him. It is shallow to hate him. He has to do his duty as a Marine. He is the legendary hero of the Marine, an icon that hold the Marine together, to strike fear into the criminals and keep them in check, give peace of mind to the civilians. What do you think people would feel when their hero sides with the criminals, the people they believe are evil pirates? If he saved Ace, the world would be in chaos, the civilians and young Marines would lose faith in the Marine, the criminals would stop fearing the Marine and terrorize civilians. His responsibility is too big. The Marines, aside from some corrupted individuals, has been keeping the peace and order in One Piece world. Dadan's view is just too limited. I like Ace but he is a pirate, an outlaw. He chose to live the way he wanted and he was also ready to bear the consequences and became Gapr's enemy. It is unfair to hate Garp. If people stop doing their duty for the sake of family, the world would be in ruin. Garp was also in a lot of pain since he was in a situation where there wan't a good choice. He did abandon his duty by allowing Luffy to punch him to get to Ace. You can't ask him to do anything more. If one of my family members committed a crime, I would persuade them to go to the police, if they don't then I wouldn't hesitate to turn them in.
Don't blame Garp. If you blame Garp, you despice Ace's way to be a pirate. The one who most respect Ace is Garp.

Probably my favourite part of one piece. I truly felt how happy luffy was to see his brother again. And sadly shortly thereafter losing him was a very emotional scene and definitely brought tears to my eyes.
