Dome Romantik is a roguelike mining game, where you go on a run to strip multiple planets of their minerals, while the native creatures furiously try to stop you. They come in waves, so you have to carefully consider your mining activities to return just in time to defend you dome. Greed can be deadly, information a viable tool for survival. Powerful upgrades will help you stay alive and be productive until you can move on to the next world.

I'd say the passive effect of the shield is better than the repellent. But I think the in combat effects the repellent has are better, especially the one it starts with that slows all the enemies down to a crawl.
I’m loving the Dome Keeper content.
While I don’t care what Retro wants to call the resources. I would like him to at least acknowledge that the square (occasionally yellow/gold) resources are officially called *Iron* and the round blue ones are called *Water.*
This game isn’t that long, so I would love to see Retro try all the different unlocks at least, and also maybe try to commit to do varied builds, rather than what is straight up optimal.
As far as it is doable, winning should still be the objective, of course.
But in any case I hope he’ll do more episodes.
I really like the subtle differences between each of the planets. I like that it changes even if you choose the same set up at the beginning.
The interplay of mechanics with the Orchard and the Repellant seem interesting. Both are time economy, but one gives you extra time and the other lets you use the time you have better. I wonder how the upgrade trees change things?

Happy to see another episode! I think that the wider materials spread is the only change when playing on a medium map, which just makes the game sessions longer and less action-packed. I would love to see some brutal-difficulty gameplay on a small map, which would be more action-dense.

The overcharge upgrades also increase how long the additional ability lasts for, which you should try unlocking next time, slows the monsters down a lot!

Even though it says Large maps last for "several hours", on Normal difficulty you can easily get them done in 90 minutes or so. Still probably too long for a single video, but maybe worth considering if you wanted to split it up into 2 episodes?

A little protip when you play on gamepad and you hold analog stick and the d-pad your laser moves twice(?) as fast

Yes actually! motherload and super motherload are very similar, although they are not roguelikes.

This game seems cute and is aesthetic as *hell* but also kind of seems like there isn’t really all that much to do? Not trying to be reductive as literally any game can be generalized to “but you just do one thing lol.” Feels like there’s something missing…or maybe it’s intended to just be a really “chill” game.
