If I’m looking to adopt a dog where can I start to look? Do you have any shelters or organizations in the Dallas Texas area that you would recommend?

@@irissupercoolsy I think it's a lesson that many humans, male and female, though it seems like males are getting a higher rate of dismissal and assumption recently, don't have purpose. They have been taught what will give them supposed 'happiness': stuff and a 'career'. A job, even if you enjoy the content, you are overworked at, missing family friend and community time, to buy stuff you are too busy to use or is only their to impress others. Humans need purpose just like dogs, we just have more options and opportunities to find it. Especially in today's social media world, we are avatars. The perfect version of ourselves. We talk more than ever but rarely listen or connect. Relationships, serving others, is just as important to humans as it is to dogs.

He also doesn't like when you Take many Pictures of him, and i guess he copied that Behavior from my siblings and me, cuz when you do that he lays down, snuggles into a Wall or the Bottom of the Couch and Covers his Face with his paws, and if he is laying with his head head on your lap... well he tryed to Hide in my lap bevor and slammed his head into me nuts... Floyd May I got very excited to read that you’re blind and breed bully’s! The stigma behind them is so dramatically different than how the media portrays them. They’re SO smart and SO loyal, they’ll do whatever their owner asks them to. Unfortunately, the only stories people hear about are from the results of awful humans training them to be aggressive or neglecting them long term to go into a flight or flight mode. It’s unfair to bully’s to have the poor reputation when it’s almost always the human’s fault. My good friend has 4 bully’s and they’re all comically chill dogs who love to snuggle and are content chewing a bone and being lazy most of the day after a good long walk in the mornings. They’re such great dogs with the right owner! ❤️

Love and Respect, you and Molly both. 💖
As a disabled Army vet, I was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis about three weeks after getting an 11 week old Boxer puppy. That was just over 9 years ago, and I owe Paige my life in every sense. Blind in my left eye, deaf in my left ear, gait issues that require me to use a cane, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Paige had specialized training, but instinctively taught herself to adapt to my needs. The Chronic fatigue hit two years into being sick. She already had pro training, but this was new for both of us. I slept for 68 hours straight, and only awoke (after her barking, trying to jump on my chest) when she bit my hand (as gently as she could) and dragged me off the bed. At a CPR training, she gave the dummy actual chest compressions, after licking its face, and checking for breathing. 🤯
Also a Buddha babe, I couldn't live my life without her. 💖🐶💖
Congratulations are definitely in order for the incredible Gallop's success!🤩🌈👏🏼

This is so interesting. Especially since despite feeling like a child, an extension of you and a life partner, they eventually aren't. They are an extra limb, a tool, an assistant. And one day, you have to replace them. You don't have to replace a child. Noone would ever expect you to. This is a very unique situation.

      @LostJedi26 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

@@LostJedi26 I'm sorry, that was poor wording. As I said, I understand the deep special emotional connection is so much more than towards a tool. I like the limb analogy Molly uses. @LostJedi26 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@JuMixBoox Too true. There's no actual comparison, and as someone who's had the honor of working with three beautiful guide dogs over the last sixteen years, even though one didn't work for me for very long (for various behavioral reasons), they've each tought me precious and meaningful things most pets could never teach. It's a very unique, powerful bond. I've heard it described as a dance. Others have said that the dog is the pilot and the blind person the navigator (since we tell the dog where to go, and their job is to safely take us there).
No harm in your words. :) This video made me feel very thoughtful and made me reflect on my dogs and all they've given me.

@@cetkat I'm not afraid of the fact I have altered ability, I merely dislike the negativity of the label disability. The negative connotations of the word imply the inability to achieve positive outcomes. My reality is I can and do achieve that which I set my mind to achieve. Being differently able can be a challenge but my disability does not define me or determine that which I can accomplish. I cannot change the limitations of my body, but my mind can and does determine alternate pathways to my goals and ambitions. I elect to focus on my abilities and not be defined by my disability.

Julie Howman I respect that & agree with you. I've chosen to own the term as part of my acceptance of myself because I have a hidden disability, so I have to state it in various circumstances & define myself with it. Internally however, I'm re-defining it rather than letting it define me. That was a challenge to learn how to do.

The two of you come from such different backgrounds regarding your relationships with animals, but you both understand what it means to connect with an animal on a much deeper level than most people do. Totally different example but I used to feel like I’d be weak if I took antidepressants because I felt like it meant I couldn’t handle my problems on my own. Then I actually got on them and they literally saved my life and vastly improved my quality of life and now I am such an advocate for people using aids like medication to help live a better life. Not saying you are doing this, just that other people have done this to blind people I've known, and it's not a very nice thing to do. Most blind people don't have guide dogs, and that needs to be something we respect, even if some of us, blind or sighted, love dogs with out whole hearts.

I have been a guide dog owner for 22 years. I have owned dogs as pets for my whole life. The bond between a Guide dog and it’s owner is unlike any other. When you own a pet dog, you are the leader. When you own a Guide dog, you are still the leader but the dog has ultimate responsibility. It’s definitely more of a partnership. As a blind person, I feel my bond and trust of animals is helped by the fact that I can’t make eye contact with them. I have had several positive encounters with wild animals that would never have happened if I had been staring at them. Predators stare. I am non threatening and non confrontational because I can’t see. This has been a blessing in my life.

I really enjoyed your this video. I am a horse lover and trainer. With all animals, it is a mutual respect, understanding and bonding. I rescued a 6 month old foal when I was 14 years old and she had been abused by the children in her neighborhood, was so skinny that the vet did not think she would live. I nursed her through her starvation and her fear, she became my best friend and I was her best friend. We had such a bond that we totally trusted each other and she would do anything I asked of her. I am a Floridian and I fell in love and married a man from Tucson that was physically and mentally abusive. That horse did everything she could to try to break us up, she knew that he would not be good for me. We moved to Arizona and I took my 2 horses with me. When we divorced 17 1/2 years later, I had to leave my horses, lost custody of my children and my heart was broken. I asked God to take my life and he told me that I could not help my children if I was dead. The two older children came back to me when they turned 18. I was given a horse 2 years after I came home to take care of my mother, but I could not bond with the horse, there was too much hurt that I could not open my heart to another horse. I was able to bond with my Cockatiels and my mother's dog, but not the horse, even though she wanted me to. When some starving Mustangs were rounded up around Lake Okeechobee, I knew that I had to help those horses. Even though they were totally wild, I bonded with them and they bonded with me. I since rescued to more horses that were semi-wild and now I am healed and training horses again, but it took a lot of time for me to heal. I still miss my Fancy Dancer and her daughter Mariah, but I know that they have probably died by now, because Fancy would be 42 years old and Mariah would be 39 years old. Fancy brought me through bullying at school, we were economically challenged and the school I went to were the rich kids, my step father molested me.
I know animals are receptive to your needs and I want to use my ranch to help victims of bullying, molestation and PTSD, because without my animals and mu faith in God, I would be dead today and I am so filled with joy now, I want to help those that need help. I can relate to people because I have come through similar situations.

Molly Burkes is a very positive young woman. She's got all of her trust in Gallop, whom by the way is an amazing guide dog! More than that he's her very best friend in the world. He makes decisions for her to help along her daily activities. She learned all the necessary steps of what it takes to build trust, respect and confidence in each other.
Kudos to you Molly & Gallop!
    You're both an inspiration.......

Molly is a lady everyone should meet. Inspirational ! Cesar is just my HERO!! He is brilliant. He is the master of his craft. The animals were his teacher for instinct. And now they truly are as one. Now Cesar is their guide dog. God Bless you Cesar.

You two have such a mutually beneficial energy. Molly has been a influential force on TH-cam, so I’m glad you two could meet and help each other out :) That is what life’s really about.

Over the last few years we rescued first a Maltese ...Sophie...a very sedate lady, who taught me to stop rushing around and take my time. She examined the world very carefully, with forensic sniffing. When she died very suddenly that was a dreadful time. But then we rescued Simon a Bichon . At first he was very scared but I followed your advice, be patient, but firm, and now he is a real character, and has taught us to laugh again. Thanks for all your training, I watch and learn all the time.

I just lost my 4 yr. old guide and service dog last Sunday in surgery. A Viszla mix named Oliver. (I am short like Molly) I am legally blind with heart defects etc. It is a long story, but he wasn't sick till exactly a week ago today, so it was very very sudden. I never thought after posting my experience on his facebook. (facebook.com/OllosJourney) and sharing him on my TH-cam channel that anyone could relate to the loss I feel. And although it is different for them, my friends are grieving the loss alot as well. The love for him spread way past my home. He was with me at every corner of my city at every hour of the day except rare times. Oliver became part of my identity, my 3rd leg and eyes, and my best teammate. If I was around they would ask where he was. The loss is the heaviest thing I have felt in ages, and I am so grateful Molly is able to educate about the process and unique bond. I know I will be ok. But the gratefulness in my heart for him guiding me up to his last hours is something I want to honor in the best way I can often. May Oliver meet Gypsy. And may Molly continue to stay strong and honest. 💓

I used to so so so scared of dogs, even new born. I can’t control my fear, if any dog get close to me I will scream and jump on a table. A lot of people don’t understand that kind of feeling. I forced myself bought a puppy, a Bichon Frise. First few days I cried. I was thinking:oh my god, what did I do, I’m so scared, am I going to be scared for my whole life…? Now he is 5 months old, he is so cute, I’m healed! And I love him so much. And thanks for Cesar's videos and tips, that helps me understand him better! Love you Cesar!

I got a rescue puppy 6 months ago, and boy I was unprepared for the amount of work and patience and love it really takes to bring up a dog! She is nearly fourteen months old now, and every day I feel more bonded to her and more and more like she is beginning to trust me, and me trust her.
She has a few worrying behaviours that at first I resented and didn’t understand how to cope with - she is my first dog ever - but now with time and research I have learnt to be more understanding towards her feelings and I’m working really hard to develop a good bond and hopefully mutual respect with her.
I’ve really gone on a learning curve, and I do feel terribly guilty for my ignorance and lack of patience in the first couple months, and am putting a lot of effort to provide a loving and safe home for her with me!
Her anxiety seems to be improving fast and she’s already gotten much more confident around people and other dogs, and socialisation has been going very well!
Lots of love and thanks to you for all the super informative content you have made available to people like me learning how to be a good dog owner!
    Yours,
    Alfie and Mable
