I grew up walking across river fishing every hole I could find, I’m in my 30s now and this place still never gets old. Great vid! Makes me want to go out there and toss a jig!
Get someone with a jet outboard to take you in the Broad River. There are a few guides around Columbia that you can go out with. The Broad is where the smallmouth population come from to get to the Congaree and Saluda. Prop outboard will get destroyed so need the jet.
What water levels are needed to wade? I’m in Charleston and would like to drive up one day and fish it but I want to make sure it’s the right level for wade fishing.
Awesome! Where at in SC? Plenty of good bass fishing all over the state. I recommend fly fishing with a 5-7 wt rod. Throw topwater poppers or streamers, both work great. If you’re a conventional fisherman then try a light spinning rod with some finesse bottom baits.
@SlabDynasty Dalzell, near Shaw AFB and Fort Sumter. It sounds like I already have some of the lures that are OK. I'm getting a light rod when I get there. Thanks man, I appreciate it 👍

bojangles and fishing are a vibe man that for sure... nice smallies brother!
That first one was a beaut of a fish. Pretty colors.
Great location! Always have wondered.
Yeah it’s awesome out there!
Great video. Amazing fish. Always sad when you ditch the fly rod, but that’s just me. Looking forward to the next one already!
Thanks! Sometimes spin fishing is simply the best tool for the job. Other times, we prefer the challenge for fly gear, it’s all situational
Just moved down here. Great info man!
Great video man, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
You just blew my mind 🤯 I always thought I had to got farther upstate for smallies
