This fish is not a schooling fish. The males have restricted areas for themselves and 1 female and they defend it. I used to keep them in my tan. Now i have the similar robertsi tetra, this is a real schooling fish, the red color is more intensiv and the body is slim.
+Tess Orvis I thought Hyphessobrycon robertsi and H. bentosi were different species but I have seen articles online suggesting the two names are just synonyms so I am not sure. White fin/Candy cane also known as HY511 from what I understand was a group of fish found in a fish farm (in tank HY511) of undetermined origin or lineage. I have seen it suggested that they are a color variation of H. bentosi and the ones I have certainly do look similar.

The females look so similar to the white fine, but there are the normal hyphessobrycon bentosi. The males have no white fin.

Are these fish Robertsi/Sickle Tetra or are they White Fin/Candy Cane Tetra?
